The cafe sounds great - I went to a local department store café just before Christmas and there was a train running round the top of the room. It didn't deliver the toast, though!

We made the mistake of leaving a filled peanut feeder on top of the tumble drier in a shed at a previous house. Noticed mouse poo all over the TD and realised we had been inviting them in through the hole at the back the shed, the outlet the TD hose went through. We caught several using humane traps, and OH walked them up the road and across a bridge where they would have to have got across a river to get back to us, even though it was only about 75 yards away.

I would love to feed the birds but in reality having seen the amount of food that went overnight I realised I was most likely feeding the rats so stopped.

Been to the doctors for the mental health check in which made me feel so much worse I was asked how I was getting on with the app that I could talk to and she was surprised I hate it and find it patronising. She asked for an example so I ran through a conversation with her I had in said app about the agoraphobia in which the AI suggested I found a safe place to go to and when I asked for an example it suggested somewhere I felt safe when I said nowhere really did the app suggested I talk to someone and get professional help. She almost told me to try harder with the app then clearly reconsidered and changed the sentence 🙈
Even WattyDog can do better than that with his "lets get a stick" or "lets get a stone" or "see if you can get my ball". At least I laugh at that and we muck about for a bit.
A side effect of the meds is indeed feeling sick so I should not worry and I was then given a sleeping pill prescription. I asked about the addictive nature of these and was told they were modern ones and not addictive but I still think I might stick with my evening camomile tea.
I have another appointment in a couple of weeks and I think at that one, if it is similarly unconstructive I might ask to stop them if I agree to go back if I think I might self harm. That is clearly the main point of concern and I said I would not and she has recorded my answers to those questions so clearly the surgery has done its due diligence on that.
I honestly feel worse for having gone which cannot be the point of the exercise from my point of view.

That does sound like a bad experience. Some counsellors are definitely a better fit than others and so are some systems. I have to steer clear of CBT as it became a trigger for me, and the app you were given sounds wrong for you. Perhaps your best therapy is a dog, some horses, a genuinely VNM and daylight. Okay, we don't have much of that one right now but it will be back.
Do you find that one some level you react to the time of year? Either in terms of SAD or that some part of you remembers anniversaries and associates those times with trauma? I didn't consciously go looking for anniversaries but I did discover coincidences between seasons and events.

I found the mental health nurse at my practice did nothing for me. I was told to watch weekly videos and given a prescription. I don't think they have time for personalised care. The prescription did kick in and I was able to pull myself up, but I still feel really down every winter and hate my glass half empty mindset.
This year has been a bit easier because I've been consistent with exercise and have tried not to be hard on myself when I'm tired and want to do nothing. It is the season for hibernation!
Hope you get the help you need from your therapist Watty, I think you really have to pay to get good care in terms of mental health. Keep doing what you're doing, it sounds like you have been making progress and go easy on yourself x

It sounds like one of those situations where they have adopted a technology expecting it to work for everybody 🤦♂️
If you're in survival mode it applies to everything.
Im reading everything is figureoutable at the moment. I'm recommend if you're feeling sick of how you're feeling. But maybe not if you're struggling
