Your day outside sounds wholesome and productive. I'm assuming you didn't have the rain that we had!

Yes, I am married to a good soul too. His "forever bike" is being looked at (again) for a recurring electrical issue making fuses go.daisy_1571 said:he can join in if he likes (inviting other people onto wattys thread- is that a terrible faux pas ?) Generally speaking bikers are good souls (even if they sometimes look scary on the outside 😬 😳 😆 🤣 )

VNM a very good soul and so it seems is his biker bestie.
In financial news £1655.52 paid off credit card by moving money around and raiding savings pot. £39.52 cash back claimed. Just need (a) not to use credit card on anything other than animal food this month and (b) find another £1500 by this time next month. I really wanted to organise the stair carpet this month, so, that might wait.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

You've nudged me to pay my CC off! Mind you there are two payments still to clear so I'll have to do it again soon.
Well done on the cash back - that was worth doing.
Is your stair carpet still safe? I always get concerned when the edges start to age, in case anyone slips. So I'd suggest you prioritise safety, but if it's cosmetic, think how nice it would be to have a new carpet to admire when the Christmas decs come down.
I find the bike talk really interesting as I love the look and watch the bikers who take their bikes over the moors to the coast every summer, but I know nowt about them really.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

There is no stair carpet so safety not an issue. There never has been, many years ago I just painted the stairs. It was a cheap solution back then but it never really looked great (insta pictures never show the reality after a few months of boots and pets). It is purely cosmetic and so is just on the list.
Chimney swept yesterday, 4th sweep called, the other 3 said too far or could not book in until January but number 4 said he was round the corner yesterday and could pop in afterwards. Am glad to get that done as house cold and I am now happy to use the log burner (got praise for good burning as he said it didn't really need doing but I still think the £125 well spent for peace of mind).

in other news had follow up with the person I took blood test results to privately. (Follow up was included in initial price). I liked her but my goodness follow up made me think. This time she was firmer about what needed to be done so the plan is to go sugar free (I'm adapting it for the odd bit of honey in cooking), cut down on alcohol, do more exercise to head off potential diabetes, add vitamin C - which i have done since the ulcers in my mouth and the advice on here and put the iron back in for 2 weeks, meditate daily, be more mindful of protein intake, add more veggies, watch hydration. Oh my goodness it was extensive. It seems I missed a lot of this before because she majored on my stress. A lot of this I already knew but was ignoring. Seems there is a little point in having professional training if you ignore it as I have been doing. She also raised questions about my HRT prescription which I had discussed with HRT dr but this time she was clearer that we cannot blame symptoms on stress alone and we came up with an option to try for 2 weeks then I need to go back to HRT dr.
I admit I have been using sugar for an energy boost and that has to stop from today. Have asked VNM to eat what remains in the house and I'm going to trial her programme for 2 weeks and follow up with her. Prepare for an irritable Watty

Once you get over the withdrawal you'll be happy watty. Prepare for headaches but they will pass, drink water to help

UK grown fruit is much lower in sugar than tropical. That's what I do. The withdrawal only takes 4-5 days. My triggers are a combination of caffeine, sugar, yeast (which includes fermented things like vinegar and alcohol). Good luck. A pared back paleo type diet for a few weeks is a good way of bottoming out what triggers what. Watty your post has made me think!
My energy levels are on the floor. And I know I use sugar as a crutch. I eat way too much, currently eating rich tea biscuits with acuppa, right now, lying to myself that is better than chocolate for breakfast! Ridiculous.
So I think I might join you and try to cut it the sugar and see if my energy level increases
I'll just eat 1 more biscuit (🤪) then the pack will be put with all the rest of the crap and hidden somewhere!
Haha. 👍
I also need to increase my water intake. I'm going to cut some lemon ready, I seem to drink more water if something is added.5
