I'd imagine dates are high in fructose, so there would still be a sugar hit? Ribena and apple juice can also be sugar highs... but I like the idea of putting something into a wine glass to help psychologically!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That is a complex list, and while they're all important factors in wellbeing, your hormonal levels being right for you is what affects how you interact with or process all of those factors.
A focus on wellbeing is great but one doesn't achieve greater wellbeing through stressing about achieving wellbeing!
Absolutely keep an eye on where you can improve things here and there, but the sky will not fall in nor will you drop dead if you fancy a bar of chocolate or a bit of wine.
This really puts me in mind of all the debates about who should be tested for what and when, what with false positives, things not needing treating as they won't impact on wellbeing or life expectancy, the balance of stress of having tests and having knowledge vs how much better people are for not having stress.
I'm really glad you invested in your health and got properly listened to, but do bear in mind that if we all got regularly tested for everything, we all should have been dead several decades ago!
Hope you can find the right balance between feeling well and being able to enjoy life's pleasures soon 😊https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Any dried fruit is a concentration of sugar. Better to eat a UK grown piece that is not too ripe or sweetened, or stick to berries. Blueberries are a good snack. Especially frozen, if you are an ice-cream fiend (like me!)Cherryfudge said:I'd imagine dates are high in fructose, so there would still be a sugar hit? I love frozen blueberries and frozen grapes, make a nice snack.Sealed pot challenge 822

Steer clear of sweeteners - they can have a similar effect on blood sugar to actual sugar, and mean you still have the craving. You should be OK after a week or so, and then everything will taste too sweet! I now find dates too sweet on their own (but great with 100% dark choc and a bit of peanut butter), but prunes are fine.5

Brilliant ideas. I think there may be some frozen blueberries in the freezer and I did stew some redcurrants into a mash and freeze in ice cubes which makes a nice snack melted over a little yoghurt.
I think balance is key but I want to give her ideas a good try before deciding to allow myself this or that or whatever as I know myself well enough to know if I buy something I will be on the slippery slope
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
Ooh also, a good cleanser and skincare routine, in the hope you can avoid what happened to me when I gave up sugar once; skin went completely to pot! I was like 'put the toxins back in immediately!' 😂https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase
