Have you put a note in diary for when hedge cutters are next coming. Or a note that you DIDN'T make another appointment?

@daisy_1571 that is a good idea and @Cherryfudge I think taking on some more regular help would be a good plan. I'll have a think over the weekend about how that could work for me.
Yesterday busy, VNM hired a van to go and collect a new motorbike so I dropped him off and drove to my meeting, almost there, when he called to say he had not got a credit card, so I offered mine, but they needed me there, so drove back, almost there when it occurred to me they would probably need my driving licence too so turned around and drove home to get driving licence, back to car hire place, sorted that out, then drove to meeting. Meeting more of a professional get together and there were only 3 there, Managed the last 45 mins. Drove home. Most of driving was like being inside a washing machine, floods everywhere and fallen trees and torrential rain.
However VNM bought the motorbike and is very happy. Turns out he has wanted this particular bike since the age of 17. Returned van this morning and he has now gone to spend time with his daughter. In supportive Mrs VNM mode I made suggestions regarding an issue with his daughter too. Phew!
Professional get together interesting as one of the 3 expressed interest in buying my company a couple of months ago, so I had followed up and she totally blanked it yesterday and at the last meeting said she was too busy to review the figures. So that told me all I need to know - but- I'm ok with that. Company doing well, pays for me and my life. Selling up was on the retirement horizon, and if one person can be interested out of the blue then when the time is right others will be too.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Awww glad he's got his 'drool as a teenager' bike. When I readcrd i immediately thought rd250 and was very impressed he got one. Now I see what he got I'm very very pleased for him, lovely bike.
About early 80s, my drool was a gpz305
although I wouldn't want it now I don't think. My more realistic drool was one like this
and I loved that bike for many years. Only a 250 but it always felt a big bike. I thought I'd never get a bigger bike but I progressed up and now Ive had a 1200 for many years 😆 my younger self would never have believed it
Mr d and i are wishing him many happy motoring miles, hours of polishing and many conversations with like minded people

he can join in if he likes (inviting other people onto wattys thread- is that a terrible faux pas ?) Generally speaking bikers are good souls (even if they sometimes look scary on the outside 😬 😳 😆 🤣 )
