Awaiting details of what wedding outfit you paired with muck boots 😊
I did wear the muck boots, although my riding boots might have been more elegant. I added thermal tights and thermal polo neck under a very pretty summery dress with a high neck and long sleeves (hiding the polo neck) and the dress is mid calf length to muck boots mostly hidden.
A lot of guests had paired summer dresses with wellies or boots but there were a fair few in strappy sandals and only a couple who had not understood the "working farm" and had heels!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

It was a lovely wedding, small tent with drinks in, large one to have the band later at night, BBQ food, coconut shy and a huge connect 4 game. Sadly we were chatting to people and didn't try the coconut shy or game but we had fun.
I love weddings like this, ones that reflect the couple rather than the identi-kit hotel style weddings. The couple had a registry office wedding the week before so it "was all legal" and then this ceremony and party to celebrate with friends.
I admit I found the afternoon very reflective about what is really important in life. Friends, the outdoors, good food and a calm relaxing life. Four months left this year to work on goals.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Is it the humanist side thats not legal or the fact it was on the farm? Interesting. Both parts would be ok up here. Glad it was a lovely day, I agree with that kind of wedding rather than the identikit type. My nephew got married up Arthur's seat in Edinburgh with only absolute immediate family then had a party a few weeks later held at her folks place which is kinda rambling country place with big garden. It was suggested but not enforced cowboy theme which suited me absolutely down to the ground since my ambition as a kid was to be a cowboy so I have plenty normal clothes that fitted the theme 😀 😆 definitely a lovely relaxed wedding

Happy September! The last quarter of the year. Need to make this one count.
Quick recap - financial goal - well I'm getting there shall we say. I have savings which took a hammering last month what with paying for vets and broken walls but progress is being made. I'm happy enough with this.
Health goals - another dental visit this week, then need to get the implant scheduled I think. I've been putting that one off because of cost and fear to be honest.
Health goals - chatted over blood test results and yes I am short of B12 Folate and Iron so will add in another supplement and no real concerns over the rest although it has been suggested we look at a few more markers to be sure and that I talk to my hormone doctor so have that booked in for 10th. It has been suggested that testosterone way to low, and I should discuss with hormone doctor and the DHEA needs looking at but that can't be done on NHS. There are concerns over a couple of heart health markers. (Give up sugar and alcohol and that might help, so structuring that in). Overall there is a bit of a plan beginning to come together. I know if I go "all out" I won't stick with it so am devising a longer term plan which will start with better lunches. (no more grabbing a sandwich in a hurry when I am out of 'planned overs' or left overs)
Equine goals - struggling with time on those but CC is good and so is MH and Fell Pony better after his reaction to the jab last week (still waiting to hear if I have to pay for that call out and treatment).
House and garden goals. Great progress being made. I have one border in garden left to do and the orchard. After much research apparently the best way to deal with the brown rot that has affected most of the apples is hygiene (!) so more time in the tiny orchard clearing which means I need to find a better storage place for my jump poles and decide what to do about the wooden furniture. Remaining jobs on whiteboard for the house, and am thinking through the best way to do those in a budget friendly way.
Extraordinary goal from vision board for financial freedom and retirementWell retirement pension pot is being topped up. And, drumroll, meeting with planning office in diary. Regrettably it is the planning office that was, ahem, shall we say, not well informed, last time - but I'm better prepared this time! He has already told me on the phone that he thinks my application above his paygrade but we will see (? I have no idea what that meant, and I'm reasonably sure he only booked me in today because I emailed top boss and said they had already failed to meet their target response time wise). I have options, I'm getting to love this house, but not the outriding so I do need to move, but if I can optimise the financial picture all to the good.
As I say, time to make this last quarter of the year really count.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I should just add that it was suggested that many of my blood test markers are out of sync due to the stress I have been under. So stress, yeah, I think I knew that would be said.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Watty1 said:VNM has rehung the wardrobe doors. The drawer fronts should go back on today. Wow! What a transformation of the built in furniture. Over the years the vinyl covering the chipboard had begun to peel away or fray and after research I thought it would be cheaper to spray paint the furniture than replace so got quotes - there are 4 wardrobe doors with frame built into an alcove and 3 sets of drawers built into the roof slope in the main bedroom (so 3 chests, 1 2 drawer and 2 3 drawer). The price for the spray paint was £1800.
VNM suggested we leave the old trim surrounds as that is still in a good condition and that he paint the doors and the drawer fronts and, well, just WOW. The difference is remarkable, the wardrobes look excellent, really nice quality and the the paint, the rollers, the undercoat, fillers etc all came in at under £200
He made the point yesterday that the bedroom is totally transformed, which it is, from a scruffy dated room to a clean modern room. I love it. (The estate agent had suggested the room be updated before going to market and I wanted it more "mine" anyway and this was such a budget fix that just required a lot of patient painting by VNM).Glad you found a MSE solution that suited you

Pics as requested. The blue is the newly painted section. The drawer fronts just unscrewed off making the painting easy and the original handles were removed to paint and then put back in. And one picture shows the new window that was the very first thing I did when I bought the house. (The old window was very small a single pane and drafty)
