Watty's Awakening

Sadly he asks to come in when we go out. I'm thinking I will ask the vet at the next follow up how long this "rest" might actually be and possibly buy another pen for the garden. We got rid of the crate as he was so miserable and bought a fab pen on Amazon that is really sturdy and has a place for a bed, his food and water and space for us to sit in there with him. If the rest has another 4 weeks as I suspect then I will look into buying another one and putting it up outside.beanielou said:Would it be feasible for Watty Dog’s crate to be outside for a wee while?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Bank Holiday Monday tailed off. Not very productive. Did a bit of weeding out the front and a neighbour came and sat on the wall and chatted while I did which was lovely. She made the point that I might as well just dump gravel on top of the current slates and have done with it saying she is sure it will look fine.
I've costed doing it "properly" - a skip, scrape of what there is there, put down a new membrane and new gravel vs just put gravel of any kind on top and it is a significant difference so thinking that over
Had a bit of meltdown and ended up in tears for no real reason and all productivity went out of the window. Made myself take CC out because I thought that would help, and he did make me giggle. It was very hot so I thought we would go a short route and he flatly refused because of the pig he hates. He was having none of it so we continued down the road which was busy with traffic and parked cars belonging to the cottages on the lane. At point I pulled in between some parked cars so 4 or 5 could go past and CC firmly announced it was "his right of way" and marched off ignoring any commands to stop. I apologised to the driver of the 6th car that had to stop and explained there was someone behind the fence that we had stopped by which had alarmed him. This was partly true - there was someone the other side of a 6 foot close boarded fence - but CC was not alarmed just fed up of the traffic and waiting for cars.
Came home. Mood still very down despite CC antics. I really do need to move somewhere less busy and with more space and woodlands.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In a short space of time you've had health worries, animal worries, VNM worries, you're not able to envisage your future what with not knowing where you'll be living, you've been working incredibly hard, and while achieving brilliantly that often brings up memories of why you're working so hard as well as a feeling of what next. Cut yourself a lot of slack and have a few days being extra kind to yourself11

What PiP says. And a hug for you @Watty1, because you needed a release of tension.
And just why does CC hate the pig?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Yes @Watty1 you've had so much on and it takes its toll as I discovered last night. Talking of animals, did you mention a while back that something was rehomed to a house with a resident emu? Standing by enthralled for details! Love Humdinger xx5

WattyDog's old paddling pool was rehomed, my neighbour has an emu - along with a lot of other animals, including a miniature goat that visits here daily! She one rang on a Sunday afternoon as I was getting ready for a nap to ask me to help get a pea hen homeHumdinger1 said:Talking of animals, did you mention a while back that something was rehomed to a house with a resident emu? It had left home, headed for the local nature reserve where it was in a tree, we failed to get the pea hen to go home and it was eventually removed from the tree by a tree surgeon some days later. She is really fun, she rescues these random animals. Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I don't really know. There is another pig on a route and he has made sure I know it is there by stopping and staring until I cottoned on, but, he will go past that one. However "this particular pig" he will have nothing to do with, now to the point of refusing to go down the path that borders its field. He will follow "his best friend" the neighbours horse if she goes first but always makes it very clear that he feels it is an unwise decision to go past, and, insists her horse is between him and the pig.Cherryfudge said:What PiP says. And just why does CC hate the pig?
It might be because pigs are omnivores and so he worries about being eaten? (This is a very small, very fat pet pig, he could outrun it in seconds but clearly CC does not think about that).
