@Watty1, I'd not registered it's a horsey photoshoot - I now have an image in my mind of them sinking their teeth into scones. Horses in fields of lavender would be beautiful, though.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I have a picture of Watty on a bareback horse in a floaty dress, in a lavender field, with a Flake in hand........

You have made me laugh! I'm now wondering what to wear for the photo shoot! We have ages to decide
Rode Charming Cob then started work improving the riding arena for fun tomorrow. I have done so little with it it took a while but it can now go on the regular maintenance schedule. The work involved asking the VNM to do a little work on the quad bike before getting it started. The quad bike needs work but then everything here does LOL At least it is progress. I think that is my mantra for the moment! Tomorrow I need to move the horsebox and I am ready for 4 of us to have some fun with our horses and I made sure the leveller and the quad are accessible so I can harrow the arena after Tuesday when Most Handsome has a dressage lesson booked. I've asked him to put fixing the brakes on the quad bike on his list - they don't work. Luckily the arena and storage area is flat but I feel brakes would be good.
I have made a banana bread for snacks (used up some more of the spelt flour) made a two week meal plan and done an online shop.
Now trying to decide if I should do a list re work or read a little of my book club book before bring the horses in and then going over to girlfriends for dinner. Looking forward to seeing her.
Very nice dayMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I had such a lovely day yesterday that I am now even more motivated to get on top of my finances this year. I'm tracking expenditure so I can make a realistic assessment of what I need per month. I did this in a half hearted way last year but soon gave up, this month I've been really committed to it.
Yesterday a working equitation trainer came over and I did two sessions, one with each of my ridden horses, Fell Pony person was going to do it but work called her away, someone I've met locally joined us, a neighbour joined us and VNM was off work so he supervised parking and made teas for everyone. It really was a fun day.
Last year was so about surviving and getting things "straighter" that the fun elements got lost. This year I'm going to focus on my goals and see where that goes.
I've also paid my tax and moved some money from my company into my pension. (Financial goals) Paid my tax a few days early to be sure it is done no matter what happens as the month progresses.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Have had the muck heap taken away. I am not sure when it was last done, but there was a lot! I know I gave up moving it during the last days of PPH on the basis I had no idea if I was keeping the house or not.
The farmer that takes it came himself instead of sending one of his team and this might sound daft but he has made such a lovely neat job of it. At the three load point he came and asked me about taking another, I viewed it and said take another and then we had a look and decided he could clear the whole area so he did. Bill: £1000
That was a lot but i feel so much better about having the area cleared. It has needed doing for a year and of course the horse poop keeps piling up so a good job done. Now that has gone i can hopefully find out why the back of one of the stables is damp so another renovation job can be tackled soon.
