Worked out why some of my electrical sockets were not working - before calling an electrician - who knew there would be another trip switch
I found it after making the coffee in my office this morning. Fortified by coffee I was able to think more clearly.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!10 -

Repurposing the very large wipe on/wipe off magnetic wall calendar in my office. I bought it when with the ex so that we could record what we were doing, when and where and for diary clashes work out a solution that would take care of the animals. I expect you can all guess how that worked out - even at the end PPH would go into my office and write his shifts and draw a line through some days and tell me to manage WattyDog when he was not here. If I refused he would simply go and leave him knowing I would never just ignore a dog, even if the dog were to be "his"
Anyway for a while I have wanted a way to keep track of house jobs rather than scraps of paper and was thinking of a wipe on/wipe off board. Mine are all with the VNM's mother now. The calendar will be ideal. I have removed all the magnetic date stuff and put up some A3 sheets and some smaller sheets. One sheet is "urgent to dos" and the rest is just a list of all the renovation jobs. After the estate agent visited the list is much shorter as he really helped focus my mind on what other people would see when they walk in and some of my "would be nice to do xx" will probably just cost me money and in a few months I will not notice so going with the estate agents list first
I also have a bright pink sign that reads "have a dream, set a goal, make a plan" which links the very long "to dos" with my visions for my future. Then one side has the magnets to hold tickets in place for events. The church concert and an open day ticket for a local railway being the only two there for now but the intention is set.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I have a huge magnetic whiteboard in my office and what’s there is all over the shop in terms of relevance and layout … I’m going to add ‘refresh whiteboard’ to my Christmas list now … thank you 😊

PS - Delighted to see that ‘PPH’ is now official Watty nomenclature for the fool … 😉😊❤️As at 15.07.25:

Well done on the course Watty and all you have achieved this year. If you did a review you'd see how much progress you'd made across a wide range of aspects of your life - from your home, to finding someone to work with fell pony, to running this course, even with VNM and holding boundaries while still letting people in and receiving help.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Watty1 said:Course is finished. So, I underestimated the amount of work and how tiring it would be, but, I learned lots about doing the course and will do another in January. I need to design a feedback form and send that out so that i can gain proper feedback but the feedback today seemed very positive.
It ended up being fun despite the hard work and profitable. I will rejig the lectures slightly, adding another, and taking material from two that ran over time to make up the extra one as that will make the lessons flow better. I find myself really looking forwards to getting the feedback and deciding how the final version will look
And - I have bought myself a mini bottle of wine to celebrate with. The wood burner is lit, the candles will be lit, dinner is in the oven and I'm celebrating that I have done this.Glad you happy with MH.
Can I ask was the online course a 'free trial' to test for yourself then get paid sign ups for future or did you charge from the off?badmemory said:Is PPH going to become almost as famous as tilly tidying?
I would ask @wels@WelshmansDaughter to name all my ex's after her Poo Poo Head brilliance .. however her PPH now covers all basis... KK PPH boss, Watty PPH stealer (and fatty at £6k /year snacks it seems) and also these new mging agents in my ongoing flat drama ... PPHs all.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
