The poles sound great fun!! Keep on finding your daily joysDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Very understandable tears. Its really stressful having to be a grown up and deal with difficult complicated stuff that an adult should do. I know ive found myself looking round for the adult from time to time then realised with a start, oh, the adult is me. As with most things, we cope when we need to in the moment but get a few minutes of peace and it has to come out.

Thanks for the understanding. Things continued to unravel as the VNM's daughter has now decided she knows what is best for dad and grandma. I think she just realised her dad was overwhelmed and wanted to help me and take care of things for him. As a result the home I found for the cat has been tossed aside, the rescue lady I found for the cat discarded and she is going to "deal with everything".
I actually found the attitude to me really dismissive, I was great for spending 3 days on the phone sorting out care packages but then was ignored by them both as they closed family ranks. Rather than just let it be I decided to mention how I felt and phew, the poor man is not coping at all. Despite, as one of you sweetly put it, "her eccentricities" he really is very close to her and is really struggling with the enormity of everything, topped off with guilt at writing off the car.
I've tried to reassure him that the car doesn't matter, all that matters is he is unhurt, that his mum is in a really nice place (a friend of my knew someone whose dad had been in the same home and loved it and the care had been outstanding they thought) and that really WattyDog is happy about the car and if he HAS to go out he can SQUEEZE into my old mini. A bit of my thinks it is quite moneysaving to have only one car like normal people!
The jump poles got sold to someone else so in an MSE reframe that is great because they were a want not a need and I don't have to find time to go and pick them up.
Busy day ahead, I planned a webinar as a business promotion tool - and - 300 people signed up! So must dash to look professional and tidy the part of the office that will be on camera. More later.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Wow that's rather a bit much. Still, people deal with worry and pre-grief in their own ways and if she wants to deal with everything that gives you your time back. She can start by getting her car off your land. Hope the cat is okay.
You're as entitled to express your feelings as much as anyone else. You've been extremely decent about him wrecking your car and wonderfully helpful and supportive.
Is it worth working out how much you'd save by only having one car? Could you add that amount to resell value of the mini and get one slightly larger car?
Very mse for the jump poles to go elsewhere, well done.
Check you out being a super successful businesswoman! Hope it goes really well! Congratulations, this is all your own hard work, bravery, and capability x5 -
Hmmm … the daughter is sounding a lot like her grandmama… 😉
Good luck with the webinar! 300 people! Even if you only get a conversion rate of 10% that would be 30 potential ‘customers’ for you 😊👏

Brilliant news on the webinar!
Hope some after sales comes through.
I know when my friend's mum went into a care home she started grieving as if she were already gone....could VNM and daughter be in a similar mindset? My friends mum lasted a few more years but she went through all stages of grief I'm sure of it before she'd even passed.

300 sign-ups to a webinar is a great result. And the lovely thing about webinars is it doesn't make any difference to you when presenting whether there are 0 listeners or 3000. You don't have to see them
Don't forget to record it so you can let all those who didn't make it have access to the recording.

I agree dfw a parent going into a care home is the first stage of grieving. Have you seen the ad where they talk about dementia & dying several times before they die. One of the few ads that seem to tell the truth.

Indeed a lot like her grandmother - she has found a new car she wants and asked dad for the money to buy it which he gave her (it was old so not bad but I managed to raise an eyebrow and say nothing). The other car is apparently to remain in my garden until daddy fixes it for her to sell. Knowing he is not coping I said nothing but will save that one up!
The VNM has suggested he buy a car WattyDog can fit in that is four wheel drive and simply let me and WattyDog use it. That saves me money and he hasn't had a car for a while just uses his work van or one of mine so this is an excellent solution. I'm happy with this, I'm fairly sure it will work well but if not, then my little mini has to go and I'll find something more suitable.
Webinar was good. I'm going to admit I'm pleased with myself for organising that, although I would never have managed without my tech PA who has been fabulous this month.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
