Fantastic news about the course

Excellent news on the course - well done! And the spelt banana bread sounds interesting too (perhaps a little sideline to explore? ☺️)I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you for the support. Just back from a meeting with the chair of the parish council (4 of the 8 sales i hoped for came in while I was out).
The meeting was really about their ridiculous comments on the Rights of Way extensions the County Council was proposing and have evidently been led by a local farmer. The chair was actually a horse rider and interested, saying it was Planning that had come up with the objections. He stood by one although I robustly put forwards a different view, the other two he made a wry smile and said he would take my criticisms for the team as yes, they were daftI will be invited to planning meetings when the legal paperwork comes in to help the Council make a better response. A good conclusion I'm happy with.
What was interesting was we ended up discussing the plans for housing in the area and, the local Borough Council has bought the farm on the other side of a large field next to me. The reason? The planned housing development in the area. So it would seem to me it might go ahead. This puts me in a quandary, I've always said if the housing development went ahead I would sell my land for building. It looks like it might, although the chair thinks it is likely they will just build 1400 houses on the edge of the parish and then stop as that is the only spot the landowners have said will defiantly sell. the flip side of that is the Council now own the farm and the land really close to me so they clearly want to build there.
The thing I am debating with myself now is if it is worth going for planning for the barn now or saving the money and sitting tight and living in the house I really wanted to sell. Very thoughtful here whilst I toss that one around..Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I can’t advise in buying and selling, but being three quarters of the way to your course target already is fabulous!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@Cherryfudge Thank you. I'm pleased, although I hit a problem this morning with payment platform, which is ok, because this is the trial version. I'm hoping my tech pa understands the problem and can sort it today (something to do with tax compliance I think)
As regards the barn and potential planning etc I have, for now, decided to 'wait and see' and continue the research around what is actually happening with the area but not go for planning before the end of the year which was the initial plan. I think my goals and vision board may need updating.

On my vision board: I put a picture of a heart shaped money box that reads "Wedding Fund" on my vision board. It is meant to symbolise my intention one day to live a happy wealthy life in a marriage. I was in the village charity shop and sitting amongst the bric-a-brac was THAT EXACT money box. Identical to the one on the vision board.
I bought it of course. Normally I will not buy anything clutter related as I have so much but it seemed like a sign from the universe. I've stood it below the vision board, I now need to work to create the rest of the pictures so they come to fruition too.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

That does sound like sign you were meant to have it. As for planning permission etc that is a tough one also how will the area change do you even want to live there when all those houses are built. Lots to think about. Well done on getting the course sorted and people booked in. Hope you get the tech issues sorted soon.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Today is the last "country event" of the season, the local Ploughing Match. I absolutely love this one, there is a farmers market, a pony gymkhana of the sort when I was a child (under 12s only) lots of ploughing competitions including a "have a go" one, demos and opportunities to try country crafts and, well, generally great fun. One year my last dog (not WattyDog) won the dog show and was invited to the proper prize giving afterwards. It is an event I love and I had planned to go, but, when I sat and thought about it yesterday evening I realised the odds were high the ex would be there.
It is, for me, a great day out. A proper country fair type event.
But I decided to give it a miss. I'm sad about that, but, I've deliberately missed every rural event this year that I would have gone too but hopefully next year I will be in a better place.
Instead, i have spent the day catching up on work so I can take Monday off and this evening will go to the village barn dance with friends. I am however wistfully thinking how much fun WattyDog and I would have had at the local Ploughing Match sadly.
