You're right, a walk will probably be a great idea for them both. Hopefully it remains walk not swim lol.
Fingers crossed someone will be able to look after cat, its usually easier to get a cat a temp home than a dog. The mother will be a changing situation for a while probably so 'enjoy' the hospital time, at least at this point everyone knows where she is and her needs are being met daily so should be a bit less stress for her family.

Sorry to hear about VNM's mum. It's bound to be a challenging time so keep on supporting you as well as him x3

I have been watching my new obsession Gentle art of Swedish Death Cleaning and the psychologist on there is to help people move through grief or process old memories etc - she often says ‘emotions need to be in motion’ so feelings should be looked at, allowed to breathe, processed and then can move on so not getting stuck
Sounds like where you are at - mid healing !You can watch the programme 8 episodes all with different people for free on the u.co.uk streaming - there are ads . But no credit card needed etc
i have shed a few tears through some of the episodes but it’s very life affirming after loss and so I would encourage you to watch an episode - they start gently - with a 75 yr old healthy woman looking back at a fabulous career and death cleaning to how she lives now / not surrounded by clutter on the past and for her to live her present in the way she chooses
My flat is not there but is much clearer already
I finally started watching this earlier in the week. Thank you for sharing this @LadyWithAPlan I think this might give me the kick I need to do some more sorting!
Watty - your weekend sounds lovely. I have been watching also on u.co.uk the fabulous restoration workshop show - lots of bolting reclaimed metal and wood etc together... It makes me want to go to class to do more rewiring stuff - I did a couple classes in it 2 years ago ...
Sorry to hear re VNM mum, hopefully the cat will be easily rehomed.
The tree discussion is another example of house owning costs and issues I have never thought about! Neighbours/trees/light etc
Glad the pony looks like he has found a new place where they can give him the time he needs - my DS's old 50+ yr pony now comes when I call him (he knows there is food), as in runs at me swerving the other ponies as one gets a bit aggressive - its cute but trying to get him back out there can be an exercise in patience.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Aww thank you so much @beanielou I am in Kent so yes a bit far.
I have spoken to a rescue about the cat and asked if they can help find a home (not take her just help with the re-homing part in return for a sensible donation from the current owner), a neighbour is thinking it over and also a friend of a friend is thinking it over. The VNM has also asked someone he knows who is thinking it over so I am hopeful the cat will find a home. As things are the VNM continues to feed the cat and make sure she is looked after so not critical but with his hours this isn't really a solution that will work for the winter as the cat refuses to use a catflap!
His mother is improving. Am very impressed with the care she is receiving in the stroke unit. 3 days in and she has been seen by a dietician, a speech therapist, an occupational therapist and a care team person as well as the medical care. Outstanding. Each person has come up with a plan for their area of expertise, clearly communicated it and actioned it.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Lovely to hear about the great care the lady is receiving, and also hopeful for a holiday home for the cat in the reasonably near future.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Wow communication in a hospital! Who would have thought it possible?
Baby Fell sounds like my nephew- doesn’t want me around until there is a possibility of me going 😂😂😂5 -
LOL @WelshmansDaughter BabyFell was ridden yesterday, he prefers standing still
and Charming Cob had his physio treatment so what a great horse solution.
The last two rooms have been decorated so over the next few weeks will now get house into some kind of order. WattyDog was given a new ball to play with. Not really new, I found it in the barn It is a solid horse ball that was bought for Most Handsome but he never liked it. WattyDog loves it, it is to big and solid to pick up with his teeth so he has to dribble it with his nose and front paws and I love seeing how much fun he has with it. I sometimes throw it for him and he chases after it and dribbles it back. Unfortunately yesterday I threw it and the "play" that followed broke an outside. light. Will shop for a replacement today (it is one in a line of three).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

After a lot of searching on google found 3 lights I liked that came in (with a discount voucher and cash back) at £102 which was a lot but after a lot of thought I decided to keep the three in the line alongside some steps the same. However I'm going to keep the unbroken ones in a barn in case of further "play" related accidents and if one of the new lights gets broken I will not be so precious about looks!
Have discussed the issue of "costs" with WattyDog but apparently the ball play is worth his pocket moneyMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
