awe love wattydog considering the expense carefully but deciding its worth it. I have a vision of him at the table, licking his pencil and scribbling a complicated equation with his glasses perched on the end of his long nose and his tongue poking out side of mouth.
He is a mathematician extraordinaire😻

I'm glad someone else discusses costs with their animals! I keep explaining to the cats that one of us has to work to pay for catfood, and they don't seem to think that's their role. Apparently my work interferes with their need to play/sleep on me/be fed on demand. One of them is also in debt due to the two nose jobs she needed after getting into a fight...
I'm very jealous that your decorating is finished! Now you can spend time moving furniture and pictures and stuff until it feels right.7 -

seems they've taken a vote and you have to keep the job, they'll keep the 18 hours a day sleeping duties 🐈 😻 😺 🐱
These animals all have us well trained indeed (as is only right and proper)

I've tried to insist the cat gets a paper round to help with the expense of his special diet but he's not having it6

They could at least learn to make me coffee in the morning rather than coming in empty-pawed at 5am to tell me they are hungry and need a wee but want to go outside not use the litter trays…7

I think the pleasure they bring is their contribution to the household economy
WattyDog was running around with his green rubber stick this morning and I couldn't help but smile (although I did shriek "not near the bl**dy light you idiot" at him I admit).
This would be the same stick I have to look for on walks as he abandons it in favour of a special selected potential vet inducing bill one that the finds!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Raining here this morning but that is ok as I am at my desk with A LOT to do. Yesterday was one of those perfect "last of summer" days. I met a girlfriend at a large local antiques fair and we agreed beforehand what we were looking for in an attempt to keep ourselves in line. My list was simple, a couple of glass stoppers for two small bottles in my bathroom that currently are stoppered with empty vape bottles.
I came home with a pair of 1950s earrings and a galvanised bucket with the Great Western Railway logo on. Readers paying attention might note these were not on the list LOL. The earrings are lovely and will elevate my usual jeans and t-shirt to "stylish" friend assured me and the lovely stall holder spent ages teaching me to put on "clip on" earrings so I can wear them for hours without pinching. I did debate buying them with myself as I was strictly trying to save this year but the house and the animals seem to be draining the pot and I decided a bit of fun was needed (£45 spent, they are stunning earrings).
The bucket is to be used as a planter on the patio. I have a few galvanised buckets and they withstand WattyDog better than the usual garden planter. This one makes me smile every time I see it and after a haggle I got it for £6.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

That sounds like a lovely day and I am sure what you bought is an investment in your future happiness, not an indulgence.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I do like the sound of the bucket. I do enjoy some train memorabilia.5
