Watty's Awakening

Ordered the book @WelshmansDaughter Yes.
I'm still overwhelmed but am trying to get ahead of the triggers that make things worse and so to this end I am thinking of solutions that might seem a little out of box. Will continue thinking on. One trigger for me is the VNM's mother. I spent Saturday afternoon there 'helping' with 'stuff' and honestly wished I had not as I just came home tired and fed up and drank way too much that Sunday I had a headache and felt rubbish.
Yesterday evening we had just finished dinner and had a call from one of her neighbours. Mostly she is unable to walk much but yesterday she managed to leave the house walk down the road and into a neighbours to complain about her career. I disengaged, told the VNM man to go and sort things out and I then reframed this as a lovely evening to myself, chatted to the horses and caught up on a bit of work. She really has become a trigger linking back to the ex and his father. I heard from him this morning that all was fine when he got there and he took her home.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Does the VNM know that you are getting this reaction to being with his mother?

Sending more hugs and if suitable a sprinkle of sparkly sunshine ✨ 🌞✨❤️I am not remotely surprised that VNM’s mother is a trigger for you. She will be activating exactly the same neural pathways as your ex did when she creates her manipulations. These will fade and get ‘rewritten’ in time, but it’s way too soon for now. This is NOT any kind of ‘failing’ btw, just the reality of having been through something traumatic.Well done for recognising, setting boundaries around it and the reframing. It’s VNM’s attention she wants not yours anyway 😉🤷♀️

Yes the VNM knows but it is his mother and all he sees is a vulnerable old lady. And thank you @KajiKita
that was a really helpful post.
The sun is shining, two horses are in the field and the CC is continuing to totally resist enforced rest. I've taken to giving him food to keep him calm and whilst that is working shall we just say he is becoming rather "stately" in stature which of course will not help the arthritis. Still just a few more days to go, Monday he can go back in the field with the other two.
My limited company financial year has ended so I've moved £10 k into my pension pot from the company to help lower the corporation tax. Gross revenue went up a lot but costs much higher too. Have allocated time this month to wrap up the books ready for the accountant. I'm giving myself kudos for the company's success, I did a good job in the face of everything that was going on.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

'I've moved 10K into my pension pot' she says, as if it were a small thing! Followed casually by 'gross revenue went up a lot'! I'm very impressed.
I wonder if there's a toy that would distract CC without causing too much stress to his joints? Perhaps a large ball that could be nudged around the stable or hung in a net to bat around - or would he treat such things with scorn?
Roll on Monday. Where are the happy horse emojis when I want one?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That sounds like a very successful business year to me watty. I'd reckon breaking even is a win these days for small businesses but any sort of profit is a definite win. Well done navigating it with everything else
