I hope she has been rehomed.   That figure is tragic. It makes me want to go and adopt more cats, but, Miss Feral and WattyDog are enough - steps away from even looking at a rescue site.

I volunteer at the cat part of a local rescue each week.   There's a constant turnover of new cats coming in but current ones going out to new homes.  Its amazing the people who will take on 'feisty' cats, very old cats, timid cats, deaf cats, less than 100% cats 🐈 😀  (we took on one of those old, one eye, grade 4 heart condition) missing legs or bits of tail, duo cats or in one case a trio of cats.   So don't worry, they all get new homes sooner or later.

We love our little pirate, she was a similarish case to Annie where the owner was elderly and couldn't manage dealing with her remaining eye anymore,  obv we don't know if that means she was moving into care herself or not.  Lots come in for that reason.  We got our last 2 rescue dogs in same circs, owner moved into care.  They were elderly too.

Let's all send out positive vibes that anyone who has been thinking of getting a pet will get in touch with a local rescue today 🐕 🐈 🐎 🐹  🐢 🐍

Sorry for the hard times Watty xxx.

Just to further complicate the money hunt - I had a great uncle who literally kept thousands of pounds in biscuit tins underneath the floorboards..... we made sure his daughter was aware when he passed.

Yes I think that is a typo. The Very Nice Man is a VNM indeed .

Spent yesterday evening filling in an Estate Inventory sent to the VNM by the solicitor handling probate etc.  As we worked through it from the mess of her paperwork I thought it was really sensible.  I suggested we should both have one ourselves filled in.   I don't think he will bother but I certainly will.

I know before one has died things are still growing - or maybe not - but all of us here are working on our financial futures in some way but it covered everything I could think of (co-op legal services have one on their website which is what we were using).  I've printed a copy of the guidelines and will aim to fill mine in and update maybe once a year or when I change a bank account I think it will be super helpful for any of my friends if I l loose my marbles - also - it will get me to close accounts I no longer use which has to be a benefit.   I've popped it in my pending tray as no time to make a good job of it at the moment but it is now on my radar.

This sounds to be along similar lines to the 'Life Book' that Age UK does. You can enter details of bank accounts and other financial things but also what animals you have, who your immediate family are, where you keep your medications etc. Lots of good ideas, though I found I needed extra space for bank accounts as the page is small!

Yes it is a lot like the life book. I am going to make a combination of the two for me this year. 
Small steps.

Finally accessed a business account that i had trouble getting into and updated records and opened an ISA for me.  The cash ISA is a huge step towards my financial freedom.  It only has £10 in at present but it is a start.  From last year starting in debt to this year opening a cash isa to celebrate the new year.  Go me!
