Etsy is a bit like Marmite, there are lots of haters out there,   All I’d say is a) do your research about the fees,  lots of sellers seems to complain about them but clearly haven’t built them into their prices b) you need to be fairly savvy with SEO, tags, etc to ensure that your listings are seen c) don’t just expect things to sell, you still need to promote and advertise. I’ve been selling non Etsy for 5 years, yes they’re annoying, yes there are fees but conversely they have a huge audience that you wouldn’t be able to tap into with, for instance, your own website.  

No experience of Folksy.
