That's a good idea thanks @Dakota_Rose, I'll ask. No point paying twice. I know the tutor uses it so it's possible there is a corporate login.

I had a friend with 2 young children & her cousin had 2 about the same ages. She was quite worried about those cousins as they would visit & put the children on the floor as she did but they would stay there. Her 2 were off, even if only crawling, but the other 2 would stay where they were put. Much harder work but I know which I would prefer.

I have no experience of children who stay where they are put 🤣

When mine were very little they shared a bedroom. One night they were unusually quiet so checked in on them. DD had the duvet pulled over her head. On further inspection her fringe had completely gone and under her bed was a lot of hair and a pair of plastic scissors. It transpired DS had cut her fringe off 😞 It took absolutely ages to grow out and looked absolutely awful. I think DS was around 4/5 and DD 2/3 at the time. I often remind DS about it and he’s 41 now 🤣
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪3 -
These stories ring so true! I hope your son is now a respected hairdresser, @Sun_Addict ? 😁

I hadn't realised DH had today off - sometimes he gets bank holidays and sometimes he doesn't, due to being part time. He spent part of today mowing the back lawn but there's still a bit that neither of us can get the mower through! I hacked it back a bit more with shears. DH has also taken a saw to the fallen tree at the back but he says it's going to take a few goes to get through it.
The reason he's tackling the tree is to improve access at the back: we've accepted a quote for having the roof done and they can start at the end of this month. Auntie was supposed to be visiting at the beginning of next month but DH doesn't feel he can cope with travelling to collect her or with her chattering, so at some point he is going to have to break it to her that she can't visit at present. In some ways she's very good: she takes herself off to visit friends for instance, but she's also somehow very demanding. With DH's health not good at present, we need to avoid him having extra stress - so why are we getting the roof done? Well, I suppose once it's done all should be good for the next 10 years or however long (I forget what the guarantee says). Apparently the men don't need to come in the house, but the scaffolding will need to be close up, obviously, so I have a lot of plant pots to shift.
Today's laundry was gloves, hats, scarves and a winter hoodie: who knew we own so many gloves? Once they are dried they can be packed away till autumn.
We had our lamb roast at lunchtime and there's lots left to make Shepherd's pie, etc. In the afternoon DH went to the library and I did my bit of church cleaning then hurried and got to work one minute late. I called in at L1dl on the way home and spent £8.40, mostly on cake ingredients for DS1 and DD who are having a joint birthday picnic tomorrow.

The men who put the scaffolding up might help move the pots - usually I've found workmen to do a little extra if offered a cup of tea and a plate of biscuits. I once resorted to bacon rolls tbh although I have noticed younger chaps bring their own and often decline which is a lovely generational shift too. (A couple of young men working here cheerfully loaded up a lot of stuff and built a bonfire pile which was totally unasked but said they could do it in a few mins whereas - slow looking at me - it would take me a couple of days most likely - they were not wrong!)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
That's a good idea @Watty1 - I will move the small pots but not worry too much about anything that might strain a muscle.
The plans for the birthday picnic were derailed as DS1 came down with a stomach bug overnight on Friday. He wasn't up to picnicking and quite rightly didn't want to pass on any germs. We've rearranged for next week, but J and L were coming into town anyway so we took them for lunch and gave J her birthday presents. We then had a local walk and they went to do their errands then came back to ours for a cuppa. We also handed over a wooden activity toy that we'd bought at a car boot sale for their daughter - no point saving it till Christmas as she may have outgrown it by then.
The weather forecast had been for rain all day - most un-picnicky - but by lunch time if was mostly gone and the sun came out.
Lovely to have time with them and DH had a helpful conversation with J about some of the health things he's negotiating at the moment.
This morning we went to church and had various people to see afterwards, and during the afternoon we did some more sawing on the fallen tree in the lane, and I cut up the rest of the lamb, froze some and made stock and a shepherd's pie for tea. DH warned me not to give him much as he was feeling nauseous, which he put down to recent health problems but was then very sick. This is a possible effect of his condition but not one we've seen before, and we think he's got whatever DS1 had. DS1 is now recovered but DH is feeling very rough. He can take sips of fluid but will probably end up with a headache as DS1 did from dehydration.
I'm feeling okay but of course am wondering if I'm going to get it too - though I don't think any of the others in DS1's family is unwell. I am really hoping we've not spread it around the church, as DH was on the teas and coffees team in the morning, though he usually mans the dishwasher so any germs should have been hot-washed away.

We did wonder about that, @Welshmansdaughter. Could well be. He is quite a bit better today but the temptation to eat may have been a bit of a set-back.
It's a gorgeous day so I have towels washed and drying in the sun and spent a few minutes breaking up wind-felled twigs for the kindling pile but really I've not done much at all. Washed my hair and sat at the computer. It's hard to get going as the uncertainty is tiring, but I'll be off to work in an hour and a half and that will be constructive.
The rest of the lamb is now in the freezer and DH can finish the pie for dinner if he feels okay to do that. I had a shop-bought pie with the remains of the roast potatoes and veg, so I've eaten well, if very carb-heavy. I'm trying to be healthier and more MS in that I've made overnight oats to have when I get home from work.
