Thank you @Sun_Addict . Yes, potentially a scary moment with the baby medicine. Their abilities change so quickly that things they can't reach one day are easy to get soon after!
My employer adheres to the Living Wage, hence the jump in income while the Union is still negotiating for higher grades. There's even the possibility that there might be a further increase when that's finished, but I'm not holding on for it. As it is, it's a bit of a step up - might all get blown on a coffee or two…
So thankful DH got a full night's sleep last night, and his chronic condition, while still not right, seems a little more stable.
Plans for today: there are a lot of things I could be doing, but nothing absolutely has to be done right now, so I have choices. I'm working this evening, so I may pop back to record what's been achieved.

Any jump in income is good. Have you had a hunt for free resources for teaching? A few years ago I found a few which were surprisingly good for the project I wanted them for.
It always surprises me how the subscriptions add up for things that were once free or minimal cost, now they seem to create real holes in income.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
It's very convenient to use - too convenient! Not having it, I realise I don't necessarily need stuff 'right now': even if I want something eventually, very often it can be deferred. I don't use the streaming side of it or the books, so I'm literally only interested for the reduced postage and quick delivery. Admittedly they are a draw. 😁

Thanks for the nudge in the right direction - I've been down the rabbit hole and found quite a few! The next payment is due 24th April so I will cancel that right now - gives me a couple of weeks to download anything I think I might use within reason.

Various things have been done, though the above subscription is not yet cancelled: I realised I have to go on the site for that and it could be that it cancels straight away instead of giving me time to find a few downloads.
I mended and washed the peg bag, which had been hanging lopsidedly for weeks - not a perfect mend but a strong one and if the fashion police wish to criticise the end result, I'm not bothered. I shoved all the socks from yesterday's washing into the airing cupboard to finish off and retrieved some thyme that's been drying in there. About one's meal's worth, but it's in the jar with the rest now. Very locally grown (between our kitchen and the shed!) and organic.
Then I worked out what I was least wanting to do and the answer was 'wash my hair and get dressed'. I'm pleased to say I managed both, and also gave my hair a trim then did a quick clean of the bathroom.
Lunch was the remains of the sauce from Sunday with the remains of a pack of plain couscous. I did consider making soup but the apricots and prunes in the sauce are distinctive and delicious flavours, so I persuaded myself not to. There was such a big bowlful that I probably won't be hungry till tonight and I've got salmon out of the freezer for dinner.
I was going to wash the winter woollies but the sky is very overcast. Then I was going to go and do church cleaning, but it might rain… I've sent out the weekly message for the Sunday children's team and the parents' WhatsApp, so everyone knows what the plan is. I know when I go to church I really ought to do the energetic bit where I change over all the next term's activity bags, and that means ferrying between a cupboard on the first floor and a cupboard in the basement, so I think I'll do the ironing and see how things look after that.
The other thing that's been nagging at me was a coat I saw on V1nted, and I've gone ahead and bought it. The hesitations had been over what I do with my old coat (probably too bulky for gardening), and whether there would be any taxes to pay as the new-to-me one is from America. The latter point was resolved as V1nted pays Import VAT. Worth knowing. Total cost to me is £26.76, and I consider that an investment, as was the old one. It makes all the difference to be warmly wrapped in winter.
A gift for DD is waiting in a locker so I need to collect that today along with a freebie bakery item from Lidl, so I'd better get moving and see if I can't shift that ironing.

May I suggest that if you have one of "those" children in the family you ensure that the staircases have solid sides. It only takes them a couple of seconds to get into serious trouble. Friends at the time asked me why he did it - theirs never did!

All three nephews are crazy active. All on their feet at 9 months and walking by 11 months.
I did see teachers using a website called twinkl if that is of any use
