MinnieMousesMummy said:Morning all,
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Open windows and let air in
Phone the doctor regarding my shoulder
Be kind to myself as I have had to pull out of some animal work this morning that I was looking forward to due to my shoulder injury
Assist DH to take down the rest of the decorations.
Sort out and water the plants
Check the sheep for a local farmer (DH has agreed to go with me due to my sore shoulder in case of any issues)
2 hours paid stuff (remember to set up out of office until 9am on Monday)
Clean the mirrors
Check banking and direct debits
Dust for cobwebs in the living room
Sort through the pile at the bottom of the bed
Hoover downstairs
Update Mr T order for delivery tomorrow
Sort out some more of the diary for this year.
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today. Hope everyone has a good productive Friday.
My plan for this afternoon is
Sort out and water the plants
Check the sheep for a local farmer (DH has agreed to go with me due to my sore shoulder in case of any issues)
Clean the mirrors (esp bathroom mirror as there is still the remains of writing from the naughty elf last month)
Dust for cobwebs in the living room
Hoover downstairs
Update Mr T order for delivery tomorrow
Put the festive decorations back in the shed.

Where I work is in financial crisis so I am reducing my hours so will have more time for flying from Monday (insert ROTFL smily) which I don't mind. If I decide I am skint I could always get the aged Ps to pay me to clean at theirs...possibly...especially as Ma is now in receipt of attendance allowance. I've got the form to fill in for Council Tax disregard. She'll be livid if she reads 'severely metally impaired person' and realises it's her...
That, incidentally, is my description of flying to satisfy the forum police.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Afternoon all. Well yesterday turned out to be a busy flying day. Until yesterday we had two sofas. Bought, (along with an arm chair and foot stool which we gave away ten years ago), when DD3 was still to young to be able to walk, she's now 24! They have over that time had three sets of loose covers and new springs. The covers were patched and split, and the springs had gone again! OH found a new, second hand, sofa and arm chair at the BHF shop. Wednesday we went and measured them up, and bought them and some new cushions and a cupboard thing to put the telly on. Yesterday, they called to say these would be delivered within the hour. Just needed to take the old ones out. Then we remembered that these had come in through a door that had led to the boot room. The boot room has been demolished to make way for the new house, for DD1 and her family, the door way has been bricked up. They would not go trough the other, slightly smaller, door! Cue two mad people armed with a jigsaw, hammer, chisel, knife, etc, taking them to pieces. I then had to re home all the toys that had been living underneath, remove the, equally damaged, rug. Sweep and hoover the floor. Rearrange the rest of the room. The aerial wire was too short, when OH tried to extend it we found it had been eaten away at by mice. That then needed replacing. That end of the room now looks good, the other end. Well lets say more flying needed. The best thing is this new suite is leather.. No covers to wash, and when the dog sneaks on it can be wiped down. Will all be done and maybe even carpet, in the next couple of months. In case any fly ladies decide to call.
Hi @Asparklierblonde. If i lived nearer I'd be there to give you a hand. I did wave in your direction when we went to my sisters for Christmas, although still about 50 miles away. Waved to Natti in Aberystwyth too.
Now to sort this end of the room! Hugs, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.10 -

Hello everyone
A better day today - the air is less humid and the sun shone so I've been feeling a bit perkier! It's getting quite nippy now this evening though.
After speaking to my named GP yesterday, I had a call from the surgery this afternoon, the GP I saw before Christmas has reviewed my BP chart as well and thinks it IS a little high so I have an appointment with her at the hypertension clinic next Thursday. I'm pleased because I was worried about it being higher than 140.
Today, I have taken down the Christmas tree and consigned it to the garden. The plan is to slowly deconstruct it into smaller bits that'll fit in the garden waste bin when collection starts again at the end of the month. The decorations have been put away in the cupboard under the stairs and the living room floor swept properly and the shed pine needles and various dog/cat hairs are all now in the bin.
I also cleared the kitchen table of the random bits and pieces that had collected there and am in the process of making a loaf of bread. (It's having its first rise at the moment).
Going over to DS's in a bit for an end-of-week G&T. Best of all, he's been given a nice pay rise and will be treating us to Chinese takeaway tonight - hurrah! I don't have to cook.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

And breathe....
I'm home with shorn locks and parfum de hairspray lingering around my head. And my next appointment booked for 8th March.
I'm having one last night with the Christmas tree and its lights before packing it away tomorrow.
Ten days away from the toxic realm of workdom staying at Costa del chez moi. I've unpacked my lunch bag and put it in the laundry. Ditto work clothes. And I'm in my scruffs. And de-stressing already.
P was having another scan this afternoon and somebody has talked to him and said they're going to sort him out. So he slept well last night without the horrendous nightmares he's been having.
Plan is to chillax tonight and unbearpit downstairs through the weekend and next week.

Time to put a pause in the big jobs for the weekend as we'll be doing a lot of errands and tip runs for family as well as ourselves with a hired van.
It's also Mr F's first weekend off from his new mon-fri 9-5 job. He's always worked shift work in retail until now, so he's pleased to work a more normal pattern.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Hi all
Lots of tricky stuff going on but it sounds like everyone is bravely soldiering on, love and spoons for those who need it.
I slept badly again, this is becoming a habit. Worked from home 7.30am to 11.30am then made the most of some rare sunshine to go for a run. Got home to find I was just short of 5k so ran up and down the pavement outside our house to do the last bit. The postie looked very confused as I ran past him for the 3rd time.
Quick shower, scrambled eggs and back to work. Finished at 2.30pm and did a 2 hour flying frenzy. Oh my days the colour of the water when I gave the kitchen floor a proper wash. DH made fish pie for tea.
I have to take Dad to hospital for a scan tomorrow so that will take up a big chunk of Saturday. It's going to be a full on week at the paid stuff next week so I want to get some down time this weekend.
