Cherryfudge said:I went to the car boot sale this morning and came away with a few bits:
- a nice capacious shoulder bag with pockets, 50p (make unknown),
- a set of Noah's ark biscuit cutters, £1
- a printout of reasons to buy fabric which made me laugh, 50p.
Later from the Thirsk c/b sale I got a very sixties stylee purply stripy shirt for £1, (note the collar, tee hee) and then in Thirsk itself from the Herriot Hospice Shop I got a silky cream and peach top with shirred cuffs from the sale rail for £1 and a linen Country Casuals dress with cute 3d sort of stuck on flowers for £6.75.

Those are lovely @Miró, though I'm sorry to hear about the parking fine. We went later than you so parking may have been easier, but we park in that little lane opposite the car boot site near the church. Parking is free there and it's near the upper entrance to the site. Alternatively, if you have nerves of steel, there's the waterside car park near the bridge (also free) but it can be scary to get out of there.
I forgot to say I tried the charity shop in Bedale but didn't get anything.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I donated some things that haven't sold on Vinted today, along with 3 jigsaws done while I've been off work. While in the Children's Society bookshop (they also sell jigsaws) I spotted the original Roasting Tin book, to add to the Quick & Green versions on my bookshelf.
While donating the other stuff in the children's hospice shop, I found some BNWT M&S skinny jeans, a bright purple linen shirt, a cute white cotton & broderie top, a linen dress and a Joules rain jacket, all acquired for £23. In the Save the Children shop I found a set of embroidery transfers for £1, which I have been reluctant to pay £15 for on Etsy so am very happy!

@Rosa_Damascena - I'm absolutely coveting the cheese shaver thingy and enjoyed the videos of how to work it here. I'm now picturing you in your lovely new kitchen shaving cheese and chocolate while wearing your new jewellery and sipping champers with friends. Quite how this fits with my vision of you as a James Bond film villain I don't know but enjoy your new purchases.
@Cherryfudge - those Noah's ark biscuit cutters sound delightful and kudos to your OH for the Royal Worcester piece at such a good price.
@Miró - aaargh, I'm sorry about the parking fine, what a pain. That is a lovely cardigan though, I'm impressed with the lovely tops and dress too.
@Floss - the rain jacket sounds like a jolly good buy which hopefully won't be needed until at least October, fingers crossed, and the original Roasting Tin book is definitely worth having on your kitchen shelf. I'm keeping my eyes peeled here for the whole series but haven't found them yet.
I popped into some of the Headington chazzas this afternoon after hoicking out another thousand thistles from my allotment and found these two books in the Sobell House shop for £1 each and then this pretty Tu top in the Cancer Research branch for £2.95.

@goldfinches, I have that Cookies book! Someone donated it to work and then threw it out so I hunted down a copy for myself because the cheese scone recipe on page 140 is so good!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@Cherryfudge - I'll play and my guesses are from top left kangaroo, elephant, giraffe, camel, bear and I don't know what the one in the bottom right hand corner is so I'll guess hippo."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Visited a town with a £1 scope charity shop. In the same town the BHF shop yielded a pair of next jeans for £3.99. The £1 shop gave me a pair a plum coloured cord jeans, a white cotton with broderie anglaise top and a very nice H&M shirt for DH. Much cheaper than my local charity shops.10

One of my book purchases the other day. Who says Southend is full of cultural Philistines?
In life there must be balance. I also bought this:
