Had a wander around Northallerton today and was tempted by a tan Radley bag in the BHF shop for £20. I already have a similar version in black and have found it very useful so I splurged. Getting it home and having a good squiz at it in daylight showed it had not been treated well by the previous owner. Corners scuffed and lining stained and fluff everywhere. Anyhoo, a few squirts of anti-bac stuff, a little diluted bleach on the lining and some deft strokes with a felt tip pen has smartened it up no end. Shame the cross body strap is missing but I have one of those fancy webbing ones that might work….No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I've had loads of chazzer-success over the past 9 days so recounting it will be a little like playing The Generation Game
. Here we go:
Saturday before last: 3 plant pots for £1, a couple of books and a CD for 50p each. At the next chazzer I bought two BN small purses for £2 each. On closer inspection had long straps inside - so much more stylish than the bum bag I thought I was going to have to resort to. Finally I visited the Barnardos at the bottom of the High Street which was selling BN yoga mats for £3.50, would have been rude not to. Happy days.
Monday: a long floral summer dress - fits me perfectly - for £4, a tall bronze vase that will be ideal for sunflowers in the summer for £3, and seven books.
Wednesday: a robust wooden laundry box that will serve as a seat in my hallway, £15 and a book (gratis because I bought the furniture).
Friday: a warm quilted sweatshirt for £1, a metal basket for £1, a big pack of cards for 60p, a decorative tea light holder for 50p, a BN document stand that can be clamped onto my desk for £1.50 and a BN M&S anorak (like I need another one!) for £3.
Yesterday: a chance visit to the Samaritans in Leigh yielded a BN lumbar support for a chair for £2, a hangable toiletry bag for £2, a brand new Cozy Shawl for £2 and 3 books for £1.

Sooo, having vowed not to set foot in a charity shop again in the near future, because I meant to be economising, I spent not far off 30 quid yesterday. 🫢
none of it was ridiculously cheap, but I got a Per Uns jacket for a fiver that doesn’t actually look as if it has ever been worn, although there’s no tags on it; a couple of branded Work/summer tops for four quid each, and then the real extravagance was a new Kipling bag for £15. Something I was semi looking for, and certainly cheaper than I would’ve got anywhere else anyway. That’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it.I’m hoping to recoup some of the money by selling the monkey keyring on eBay as I can’t stand the things. And now I’m really not going to any more charity shops - is there such a thing as a Chazers anonymous group? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.9 -

I made the fatal mistake of not buying something (I talked myself out of it) and then deciding it was a good buy but when I went back it was gone ☹️. Oh well8
