Well do I feel fab ladies. I booked myself a 90 minute facial, the young lady spent just over 2 hours on me, i was cleansed, massaged, red lighted, radio frequencied, something else I can't even remember, lymphatic drainaged and then very very moisturised. It was fabulous and to hell with the cost, I've booked another one for next week. I think it looks good but doesn't really matter as I feel so good. I don't think I've felt so relaxed and positive in years.6

^ I keep reading about red light lately. How much did that cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Good Morning lovely ladies.Pixie. Your facial sounds amaaaazing!!!! Definitely treat yourself again if it makes you feel so good.
As you may know I did train as a beauty therapist so I tend to do most of my own facials. But very occasionally I will have one at a salon and when I do it's pure bliss. I would have one every week week if I could afford it. Same with manicures and pedicures, I do my own but I would love to have them done by someone else. 😁Wednesday. I too have been looking at red light therapies recently. Apparently they have all sorts of benefits, especially joint and muscle pain as well as skin care. The back massager gizmo I bought has an infra red facility which I always use.3 -
Thanks, I will have to look into it.
I just went for a walk to get my steps in and I walked near to the street where my reflexologist lives. I think I will make an appointment with her after the next time my husband is paid. I've been trying to stick to a budget and doing free things I enjoy like hot baths, library books and walks as I need to start getting used to living on a fixed income if my husband retires this year. It is all a bit in the air at the moment.
My hair feels so much better now it is cut! I had about three inches off, but it is still past my shoulders.

Totally agree with all the style comments. I need to lose weight to fit into my clothes too. On the topic of beige - I don’t really wear it, but have a lovely cream silk blouse, and have two “beige/cream” trench coats that I think are stylish. One is a classic Hobbs, the other is a cream leather short trench. I’ve both for years though and I don’t think they go out of fashion. Teamed with a silk scarf, they still look good. Like you @helensbiggestfan I also have too many coats. I’ve also got a nice Michael Kors black trench coat and an M&S navy trench, along with lots of coats/winter jackets, so I really don’t need any more!!
@helensbiggestfan Good luck with your house search and your gardening plans. I don’t really like gardening and pay a nice chap just to mow the lawns and chop some bushes back on occasion. He’s very cheap and does quite well doing some of the gardens near us (as they are small bungalows, usually owned by elderly people). I do like somewhere to sit out on a summer’s day though, so our small decking area is just fine.I’m on the last leg with my teeth implants. Went this afternoon for the impressions, so by the end of the month I will have teeth!!! Quite warm here in the North-West - makes a change from all this rain we’ve been having. I did my good deed for the day today. Found a purse in the supermarket car park. When I was on my way to hand it in to customer services, there was a frantic woman there asking if her purse had been handed in! I was behind her and said I was handing a found purse in! The lady on the desk took the purse and asked for the name/card details inside before handing it over and it was the lady’s purse. She thanked me for being honest, but wouldn’t everyone just do this? I’d like to think that if I lost mine it would have been handed in.2 -
No @FreetodoasIlike I don't think everyone would sadly. Well done you for being so lovely.
Had my hair cut today at last. Very much shorter and looks really nice so I am told. Gone is the way past the shoulder look into a neat small bob. Had a lovely chat with the salon owner who was cutting it about the amount that has fallen out and how I will possibly go for a wig or a topper and she suggested I buy one I like and she will cut it for me so that was nice. Apparently it isn't a service the salon offers but she is happy to do it. Happy with this as I am very conscious of how much has fallen out.
So that was one small step into being fab.
The decorating here is going well too. Loving my new white space which is prompting me to declutter more. Currently I am trying to decide if I like the strawberry peppermint and cocoa tea and I've decided the answer is no so that is two more boxes to be rehomed!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -

I followed Martin's advice and switched my bank account and got £200 so that is paying for this week and another one next week with a bit left over to pay for parking. I'm sure Martin would approve, I hope.
They did do a 60 minute one without the radio frequency bit which was half the price. I might try that one in future.

I just checked they do a red lite facial for £35 which seems a bargain. Microneedling was also highly recommended t me but I didn't fancy that, I wanted something that would feel like indulgence not torture.2

Hello again, you all seem to be doing amazing things for self care, and that’s so important. I haven’t had any reflexology for ages but it always suited me so well. I think I’ve been a bit lax about ‘style’ too, too much of my working life was spent outdoors where nobody saw 😂😂😂. Perhaps you’ll all encourage me to try harder by my reading what you’re all doing.I finally got in the garden yesterday and cut the lawn twice, once on high, and again on medium. A bit of pruning too, a friend came to help and support, and she’s very knowledgable about plants. I made this garden from scratch in 2021. It was just bad grass. I dug a border all the way around and put a brick edge in, it took me ages. Planted it all with a variety of shrubs, mostly evergreen but not all so that all year around there’s colour and variety. I now need to put a load of strong tall stakes in as they lean towards the light and I’d rather they stayed upright, so I’m going to help them. Some of them are 6’ now. I am very kind to them and feed them a lot, plus water in summer as there are trees around on other properties taking the nutrients.I also have some potted shrubs but the shape of the pots, narrowing at the base, means they often blow over in gales so that’s being assessed now with help from family as to whether we can fix them, or repot them. The lawn still has bad grass, a lot of buttercups because it’s wet, and needs weed and feed too, not sure if I’m too late for that, or got enough stamina just now for raking the moss. The plan was always to keep it simple and once I’m elderly it’ll just be the lawn to cut and the variety hedge to trim, and maybe by then the children next door might be teenagers wanting to earn a little cash.I went into one chazza today, but didn’t really have the energy to shop.Love reading your exploits though, keep them coming.2
