That's a brilliant price for the blender @bubbs and for Napolina tomatoes but £6.99 for the skewers?? Really? 🤣🤔

    Morning all.

Agree with @maman that the blender is a bargain but then I guess they need to make some money somewhere, hence the price of those skewers @bubbs 😆

Good for you for finding somewhere to eat your lunch @Coxy11 - we have no where (not even a canteen at this hospital) so it's your desk or no where for us.

Just back from a bit of an unpleasant hygienist appointment - she was flustered because she had to move to a different consulting room and didn't know where anything was so wasn't really listening to me when I was answering her questions about my ongoing issues.  So now I'm in quite a bit of pain, and just want to go back to bed rather than crack on with the work I have to do!

Had some bran flakes before I went for breakfast, and planned to have more of my sweetcorn soup anyway for lunch as something simple.  Dinner tonight is Singapore style noodles to use up some vegetables and prawns that were in the fridge / freezer respectfully.

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Hi everyone,

Can thoroughly recommend the ostrich steaks from A!di. They are on special this week – in a black box in the chiller, pack of 2 x 125g with a BBQ glaze for £3.79. Best of all they are Free on SW. We had them with mash, sprouts and broccoli.

Tonight is pie using leftover turkey and gammon from Christmas, some leeks, a tbsp. of flour, stock and a little cream. I’ve popped a puff pastry top on it, so there are syns, but all accompaniments will be free or speed – probably mash, sprouts and broccoli again, although we do have some mini carrots I could roast.

Iceland do chicken skewers @bubbs – think they are between ½ and 1 syn per skewer. Various flavours at £4 for a pack of 4. My group members rave about them. I think the Iceland 10% offer is still running too?

Feeling very blessed to even have a place to eat lunch now @ruby_eskimo!! Sorry to hear about your appointment. I loathe the hygienist. My teeth are super sensitive and the water jet always feels ice cold. I’m going for a check up next Thursday and am hoping I won’t need the dreaded scraping as I’ve been super good at flossing since my last appointment in July – several times a day in fact!!!

    Morning everyone,

    Thanks for the link @VALM

DS2 will be very interested in the ostrich steaks so will try and pick some up this weekend.  Farmfoods is right next door so hopefully will get tomatoes too!

Started looking at flights last night and ended up down a rabbit hole until after midnight!  Looking for somewhere warm heading into the summer for my first solo adventure 😊

    Today's food:
B - bacon roll (HEB), sauce 1 syn
L - crustless quiche with side salad and pickles
D - good old mince and tatties, sprouts (onion and carrot in the mince)

Hope you're all having a good day!

Glad you enjoyed the Ostrich @Coxy11. 😊

Hope your mouth feels more comfortable by dinner time @ruby_eskimo.

My dentist only does check ups/treatment and the hygienist is a separate appointment . Fortunately we have a private plan @bubbs so no massive bills like yours but I reckon between the dentist and hygienist we get our moneys worth.

As well as the carrots and onions, I add mushrooms to my mince and tatties @Jellybaby. I never miss an opportunity to add Speed! 😁 I like peas in it too but I cook them separately otherwise they lose their colour, although they can often get left behind in the microwave.

What sort of holiday are you looking for? Beach or sightseeing or both?  We've got our 3 weeks in Turkey booked up for June, really looking forward to it. 😎

Another glorious day here and managed to get out for a walk again this morning. It's due to get warmer by Sunday but wetter too. ☹

New week starts today for me. No eating out planned so hopefully I can stick to SW 100% and still be in target range next Thursday.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, bacon, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA1 milk
L- JP (F), tuna (P), spring onions, tomatoes, pickles (S)
D- ham hash (P,F,S, HEA2 cheese topping), greens and cauliflower (S)
    Syns-0

@ruby_eskimo I sympathise with you as I suffer dreadfully with my teeth.  Do hope they have settled down a bit now and you are not in so much pain.

Well, despite the fact that I have WI tomorrow I have gone to pot today.  I started off OK with baked beans and wholemeal toast (HEB), then we went to a seal sanctuary and I had a ham sandwich, then I had half a scone with jam and cream.  Tonight I had scrambled egg with leaves in the hope of mitigating the damage  I am so cross with myself.

Maybe you'll be lucky and today's lunch won't have time to register yet @MrsPorridge? 🤞 for tomorrow. You did well to have a light meal this evening. 👍

Just seen the Farmfoods leaflet @bubbs and it seems it's 3 packets of those skewers for £6.99 so 24 in total. That makes a lot more sense. I won't be buying them though as they range from 5 to 7 syns each.
