  • Thanks for sharing the picture bubbs. It does bring it home how on edge you must be. Hope all is well.

Well done on the loss jellybaby. Have a fun few days!

Glad you managed to sleep denise.

Managed to get out for a walk up to Willen and Campbell Parks in MK. Poured on the way there then the sun came out.

Breakfast: low fat toffee yoghurt with banana (1.5 syns)

Lunch: jacket potato and sweet potato with a light cheese triangle (just one) and hexa reduced fat mature cheddar (yum!)

Dinner: cous cous (2 syns) with salad and airfried courgette, left over chicken, boiled egg, reduced fat feta hexa.

Snacks of fruit and raw veg. Someone mentioned mini chips so I bought a packet of beef ones. Bloody lovely and 6.5 syns per portion. Didn't need a full portion as they take time to eat. Will have some this evening with my chocolate quark mixture later (3 syns) with squirty cream and a small sprinkle of hot choc powder (syns permitting once I count them up).

Thanks Rose,  i am not happy paying out all the time 😩 but it is what it is, if i could stop the rain i'd be worth millions 🤣 but as i can't, i'm not.
Just looking at the water tables for the river , they had dropped but now they are rising dramatically ! I guess they have opened the gates somewhere 😢 Longs it's not a middle of the night evacuation again .

What are mini chips? like crsips?

  • Mini chips are like tiny skinny crisps. Shape of a chip but only about 3mmx3mm and long. You get lots in a portion.

Just caught up on 5 pages of posts, small gain at WI last week and not been having a great time, hope to still be in range on Tuesday.

@Longwalker so pleased that Buddy is recovering, he is so cute.  I made the current batch of yogurt using skimmed UHT and followed your instructions, it is the best I ever made – thank you.  Great news about not having MD must be a huge relief and a loss to celebrate too.

@Maman your meal out sounded so delish. I have some turkey mince in the freezer, how do you make your meatballs please, I have only ever made non SW ones.

@bubbs you are having such a prolonged rotten time. Great news on the loss.

@Joedenise hot toddys always seem to offer more than the sum of the parts. I am really fussy about sausage and mostly just Syn the yummy ones from the butchers. If I was replacing my Ninja grill I would go for a flexi drawer can only use shallow pans to bake in the AG551UK, but otherwise I think they both offer the same programmes

@NornIronRose pesky hormones. Fantastic park run time

@Jellybaby you are having a busy time pleased to read today that you lost 1 lb.

@MrsPorridge I hope you enjoyed the cheese and wine, I really love cheese, it does lead me astray on SW quite often.

@Coxy so sorry about OH’s pending redundancy, having been there a few times I agree it is not easy to shrug it off and not take it personally.

Well done on the catch up marathon @maddiemay. 😁 Hope you'll be in range at WI. 🤞

My meatballs have quite a delicate flavour but you could always use different spices to make them more zingy.

For 300g of turkey mince add 30g hydrated plain couscous, 3/4 chopped spring onions bound with a beaten egg. I use dried herbs and spices, 2tsps dill, 2tsps parsley and 1 tsp coriander. Roll into balls and bake on a sprayed tray for about 10 minutes at 200 degrees.

I open freeze and defrost a portion before adding to pasta and sauce. Sauce is passata, onion and basil with HEA of Parmesan on top 😋. I have used the same recipe to make burgers.

Morning all, a dry and fairly bright morning so machine load of washing on the go.  Will get that out on the line shortly.

Hope you had a good night's sleep @bubbs and no evacuation necessary.  It must be so worrying and very expensive keep having to pay out for hotels.  I think you've done the right thing for next year in booking an Air BnB - hopefully it's away from any rivers!

Well done @maddiemay with reading and answering so many posts!  Good luck with being in range at your next WI.  I'm still not back in after my holiday - the weight just seems to have stuck at 1.5lb over target range!  I probably won't go this week either as still not feeling brilliant and don't want to be passing whatever it is I've got on to others.

DH has a hospital appointment late this afternoon for a pre assessment for cataract surgery so suspect we'll end up with a kebab on the way home as it's likely to be getting on for 7.30-8pm by the time we get back with his appointment not being until 4.40pm.

    So today's plan:

    B - porridge; fruit - HEB; S; F
    L - cheese salad - HEA2; S
D - probably chicken kebab (not pitta); if we get home earlier than I expect then I'll make a carbona as have lardons which need using up

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - oats
Syns - oil in marinade for chicken 2?

    Have a good day everyone.
  • @bubbs, been thinking off you, hope all is well?

@joedenise , a good nights sleep makes you feel a lot better even if you arent . Re the chips, What I have been doing is cutting and soaking, draining and then giving them a 3 min nuke. When I spray them - I use a misting spray with just veg oil, I do them in a huge big mixing bowl and give them a good toss about, then air fry. Now when I come to shake them, I tip them back into the bowl and sometimes give them another spray of oil as I dont like a too dry a chip. Even a good few sprays is less then a teaspoon of oil.I get lovely golden crispy on the outside and soft in the middle chip - yum yum :)

@jellybaby, well done on the loss and enjoy London - city of my birth and not been back in 6 or 7 years so quite jealous :)

@Nornironrose , OMG I LOVE mini chips. The lidl ones are lush, trouble is I can put half a packet in my mouth in one go lol.

@maddiemay, so glad the yoghurt has worked out for you. I have just put a batch on for tomorrow. I seriously cant make enough of it :)  Mind Im also getting quite hooked on the Low and Free sticky toffee ones

Myself, I fell of the wagon terribly this weekend. Started with good intentions but I went off the rails and hit a sod it and blew the weekend totally, you name it, I ate it.

    Line is back drawn.

That's pretty much how I did my chips @Longwalker apart from not nuking them.  I also use a spray using normal veg oil and sprayed the bowl before tipping the chips in and then spraying again with a good shake before tipping into the air fryer.  Soaking and drying is definitely the way to go!
