Virgin > Virgin ISA transfer

It takes up to five working days, so the lucky (or earlier) applications have had their transfers completed today.0

I also had a fixed ISA4 that matured yesterday. I was happy with the default action of it being converted into their variable rate ISA but I was slightly amused at the sequencing. Quite early on in the day it showed up as the new ISA type but with no interest having been added. The interest appeared overnight, at least 15 hours later. It's not a problem but I wondered who thought it was a good way of doing things. Most customers would expect the interest to be added before the account changed type.

Is anyone else annoyed about having to wait "up to 5 business days"* for the ISA4 to transfer into an ISA10? I'm losing interest during this time because of the differential from 4.76% to 5.25%. Not much but I guess it's a nice little earner given they must have £millions doing the same across their customer base. This is 2024 and these internal transfers should be same day. I wonder if it'd take so long if the rate was reducing?
*as advised by the agent I just spoke to, and there is no way to speed this up.0 -
I’m mildly irritated but no more than that.I’m curious to know how they’re deciding on the order of xfers though. Some posters who used the link in the maturity email dated 16 Jan have their xfer already completed.I posted my xfer form on 28 Dec but mine is still sitting as easy access. I had hoped I’d avoided the additional step & corresponding delay.I’ll give them 5 days0

Hmmm VM don’t seem to be dealing with xfers by date of request. I didn’t receive any confirmation of my posted xfer request, nor did I expect one. I’ll bide my time for now.Aidanmc said:badger09 said:I’m mildly irritated but no more than that.I’m curious to know how they’re deciding on the order of xfers though. Some posters who used the link in the maturity email dated 16 Jan have their xfer already completed.I posted my xfer form on 28 Dec but mine is still sitting as easy access. I applied for Iss10, also requesting a transfer of Iss4 into it, on 11 Jan. This morning 2 Feb had email and text to say it had been transferred. Received a day's worth of interest at 4.76% on top of the maturity interest. Hope everyone else gets sorted soon.🤞0

My Fixed Rate ISA10 transfer was through this morning with the Flexi ISA2 that appeared a couple of days ago changing to the proper account overnight.1

Mine still hasn’t transferred. There’s no logical reason why my xfer, requested 28 December, hasn’t been dealt with.
Gearing up for a long wait on hold on Monday.
