Foofoopuppy said:Bazzalona, I've taken today as the proper start of post Christmas, being my first day back in work.
It really is crazy what a difference it makes. I take my lunch in, and that's it. I can control myself to not buy additional snacks on my lunch, so what I take in is what I eat.
And because I'm in the office working, I don't have time to nip to the shops as much, so fewer snacks in general are bought. Also no ability to bake at home if I'm not home!
I find that snacks are really my downfall, and being at home means I have lots of them available. So now I'm back in work normally, I will be on the wagon fully, and hoping to hit my target.
If I was at home that just wouldn't happen.6 -
Just been to the gym, and they are now offering boxercise class on a Wednesday. So I've signed up for that and will see how it goes. The positive is it will get me in the gym tomorrow, because I'm working from home and in winter struggle to go to the gym if I'm working from home.
I'm really hope this will help me see results!6 -
Hi All, I haven't weighed myself yet but I know I have put on. Weigh day is Friday so that will be my starting point.
Yesterday I did a lovely walk along the canal. It was a beautiful day and it felt great to be outside in the fresh air.
Today I did about 40 mins in the gym. The first time I've been in a while but I really enjoyed it. Followed with a float in the pool and a steam & sauna.
Well done to everybody who has made a start 👍Save 12k in 2024 Challenge

welcome Gillynomad 👋 and good luck you look like you have a plan 🙂
Bazzalona my brain dictates my eating habits it is also where the self destruct button is kept
Wishus I got rid of a bag of old cookery books to charity plus a couple of 'like new' bakery/ dessert books on freecycle but TBH I do have a problem with collecting cookery books
Brie I don't think 3lb is bad over Christmas I'm braving the scales tomorrow as I like to weigh on Wednesday. Your trip sounds great, pictures will be required 🙂
foofoo a friend goes to boxercise and loves it she does go to a female only class and says added to her SW diet has helped her to lose 4 stone last yearI had planned just a egg roll for lunch but the awful weather drove me to the fridge and a rummage in the vegetable containers produced a pan of vegetable soup 😋 a mug with my roll made it warming and more filling. A advantage of working from home. Made from scratch chicken in a mushroom sauce, Basmati rice with peas & sweetcorn.
Didnt eat very much as not feeling great but it was tasty and DH enjoyed it, teatime was using up some of the soft cheese selection and some rice cake slices &10 big grapes.Tomorrow is a roast pork loin from my freezer stash. And cooking the left over chicken breast for a teatime salad. That’s the plan anyway.Blimming Wednesday tomorrow…soon be Easter🤣Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

I doubt I will lose any weight this week, I have just felt like eating....and eating so far this week! Just coming off nightshifts which are horrible for dieting because I barely sleep so am awake to snack all day. But Ive been eating healthy and sticking to wholefoods which is a win in my book!
Also I finally caved and bought some new underwear. Im trying not to spend too much on clothes between sizes (have been living in t-shirts and leggings most of the last year!) but sometimes you just have to. My bottom half is just about a size 12 now and my undies are a 16/18! I mean some clothes look better baggier.....but your pants arent one of those!LOL
Also swapped my XL comfy crop top bras for a size M too. Much better! (I dont know about anybody else but ever since we all collectively gave up caring during covid I save 'proper' bras for special occasions and mooch around in my comfy ones instead!).
Its just so nice to be able to wear regular clothing sizes....like a nice boring, average sized person!7 -
I did so well yesterday but then last night the Pringles and Heroes got the better of me 🤦🏻♀️
Todays food:
B: scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, baked beans and some brown sauce
L: homemade chicken soup & fruit
spagbol
Todays non scale victory: had bp taken by gp and he used a normal sized cuff instead of a large 👍🏻🙌🏻🤩***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***9 -
Not in the groove yet, but I am hoping that just not going mad and binge eating will be enough for this week. Its a gradual transitionMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Weighed myself this morning for the start of this challenge. 2lbs heavier than before Christmas (think I weighed myself end of October last) so happy with that (although not the weight on the actual scales...)
Not sure how I managed only a 2lb gain because I ate a fair amount of baked goods and chocolate!
Started well this morning - although didn't get out of bed until 7. I forgot that my target was 6:45 to be out of bed...not setting my alarm for 6:45 so will change that for tomorrow.
The weather was awful and I had to cut my walk with the dog shorter than I wanted as I was soaked through. Managed 25 mins so with a little nicer weather should be able to make 30+ mins. (Don't mind rain but this storm weather is not the type to be walking around in)
Got a 1000m row in during an afternoon break from work (wfh) and so far I am doing ok on reducing pepsi consumption. I've had about 1.1l (2 cans + a bottle), glass of OJ, and 2.5 glasses of water. I know the pepsi amount is a lot but it's not for me...by this point in the day I'd normally have had around 1.6l (5 cans) and no water and would probably have another 2-3 cans by the end of the day...so yeah.Mortgage: £116,060 (Apr 2024)
