New Years Day Dinner is JD Seasonings Chinese Beef Curry. I had to tweak it a bit because it has a strong aniseed taste & im not that keen but it was lovely in the end 😋

  • I wonder if the sort of high sugar high processed modern diets led to more women storing weight in the midsection

I'm old enough to remember when a size 12 waist was 24".  I think overall women have become thicker round the middle, whatever their size/weight.

    I think I read somewhere that a size 12 in 1950/1960 would now be a size 6 or 8

Brie can I assume you are using the Chinese new year this year? 🤨 I've used the logic that just having a banana for breakfast (tablet needs to be had with food) means I had spare calories to eat a stollen slice with my 4pm cuppa 🫣

i e eggs which need using so hard boiled a half dozen this morning two were had with a toasted muffin (no butter) but a tsp of light mayo for lunch.  A search for slimming recipes founds chicken curry i could tweak for dinner.  I just need to avoid the evening mouth hunger due to boredom evening snacking is my downfall and i have lurking Christmas stuff which I need to space outttttttttt

  • Day 1. Very much nearly fell off the scales this morning. REALLY bad. Heaviest I have ever been BUT…it’s the start.

I’ve been concerned about the evening munchies so I have a few jobs planned for the evenings.
This evening, I emptied out medical / toiletry storage and transferred to new, better storage. Good opportunity to check dates and stopped me thinking about what to eat. I also now have my 1st item of the year to sell. (Also doing 24 for 2024 challenge & frugal living 2024 challenge).

Tomorrow is back to normal so I plan to, as DH says, Get among it!

    . . .
Using the TU website size guides, the comparison would be:
                       bust   waist   hips    size
    TU now       33.5    28       36       8
    FatFace      33       25       36       8
    1960s          34       24      36      12

I think that is "vanity re-numbering" and to make us feel better.  And it shows the waist thickening in relation to the bust size, particularly for TU.
