Apologies for being awol the past couple of weeks - life has been hectic to say the least. But that has involved going up and down a lot of stairs, so weighed in this morning and I am another 1.5lb down from my starting weight!
I was brave and measured myself around the waist and tummy and have lost an inch from both those areas, so something must be happening.7 -
Hello
Weigh day -1lb please Brambling. This weeks plan is to carry on with the 3 meals no snacking. Haven't considered this weeks meals yet so should get a shifty on doing that. Out tonight for a meal looking forward to 🥂.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025
1st quarter - 17.5lbs 🥇
2nd quarter - 6lbs 🥈3rd quarter -
4th quarter -6 -
Been slacking on this forum recently. But I've been doing my best to keep up the journey. Last set of weigh-ins since my STS:
- 21st Feb: +0.5lbs
- 28th Feb: -1.5lbs
- 6th March: +1lb
- 13th March -2lbs
Combination of a few long weekends and hormones going a bit wild (I think) but ultimately have been losing weight. Got some tricky weeks coming up as I'll be spending 2 weeks away from my home which I always find makes it harder to be consistent as it's not a holiday (where I generally allow myself more flexibility)

well done every one who has braved the scales this week
Gillynomad - some ups and downs but you have come out on top
Gingerlily - another lovely to see your row of yellow facesnearly at the 1.5 stone
Eowyn1 - i find keeping track of measurements is a good idea especially if the scales don't show the losses often the tape measure will
Brie - i know drinking water in theory helps the weight loss but i find WFH means I drink less as in the office my colleague would nag me if i hadn't drank my water when she was topping up hers
Foofoopuppy - cutting the snacks is a good start and i find very difficult especially in the evening, one step at a time
Roundtuit - you're another one with a nice row of yellow
IzzyBee glad you had a good holiday, you're not meant to diet when you are away! how's retirement?
Catz - I stocked up on the thermals in the summer sales last year! i realised I'm lucky living in the south east as the winter has been mild, even if March feels colder than February. Unless it's changed HRT can mean a weight blip
Bazzalona - welcome back, sorry your back has been causing issues hopefully not too painful
Frugal-aspirations - looking at your sea of yellow i think you will make your target too
Smudge - sometime getting on the scales will do more harm than good, i have avoided them myself a couple of times this challenge
I can't believe we are almost at the end of another challenge some quick mental maths i make it a loss of 142lbs and 1.5 kilos so far this quarter with I'm ashamed to say very little effort from me - well done everyoneLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin8 -
@Brambling - Hi - Thank you so much for keeping our records. I think it was a few days ago that I reported a little success (lost two pounds) such that the entry against my name becomes -4/7 1 halo / 7 purple fellas / 2 halos

Yes, many thanks for keeping all of our records up to date, its very much appreciated.5

So, I'm almost back in the land of the living, glad I've taken this time to try to maintain and not stress or push myself.
@Brie and @General_Grant, your posts have really helped, it's reminded me to jump on those scales and be accountable, my weight may go up or down but shows me that I will have to maintain in the future and not ignore my weight, easier said than done sometimes!
Brambling, hope the hip is on the mend, the cold damp weather has killed me.
@Gingerlily and @Pixie_Cosmo, well done for getting to target, the first and last quarter are always the hardest, if I've missed anyone or those who have not lost as much as they would like, you are still with it, good for you.
I worked out how much fluid I'd been carrying, thus the need to go out and buy a big pair of house pants, just over 30LB... it made me so miserable and realise how much better I feel after losing weight. New medication is better, only issue is that my body clock / functions appear to me on Australia time.
I'll be hopefully up and running for April as I feel over the worst of it.

Lovely to see you back for a visit Jenny I'm glad the new medication is working better even if with side effects. Unfortunately the hip is the joint so will eventually need surgery, at the moment i'm trying to avoid it plus the doctor says if i have it too soon i may need to have another one
Sorry to miss the update General all sorted now
Doing all the updates yesterday I missed my own and finally managed another loss just the -1lb but I'll take itLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
I've put on 3lbs (eek!) this week. Some of it is totm water weight I hope. I've been struggling with sleep and feeling run down, so eating more. No yoga or running, no energy! I have managed a few walks when the weather has been ok. I gave up calorie monitoring as it was too depressing lol!
Away now for a couple of weeks, so my final weigh 1st Q in will be in two weeks. I'm going to try and refocus, eat healthily, no snacks or booze, and get outside. And get some sleep. And be kind to myself. As long as I don't put more on, I'll still weigh less than I did in Jan!
Hugs to those not feeling great, at least spring is on the way :-) Good luck and take care everyone!4
