    Good Morning all :)

I'm 'forced' to log STS this week as one of the feet on the base of the scales broke when I stepped on it this morning and the display went haywire. TBH I expected to have put a bit on, but can't check.  I do have another set of scales somewhere which I think are pounds rather than kilos, so may have to do a conversion each weigh-in until next quarter.

"Broke the scales when I stood on them ... " sounds like a joke (but isn't)!
  • STS for me. I haven’t changed my eating habits this week so it’s to be expected.

I've had a hungry week, and a busy one too, do apologies for not noting what recipes I tried and the score. Here are some.

Sicilian mackerel pasta with fennel https://www.sainsburysmagazine.co.uk/recipes/mains/sicilian-inspired-pantry-pasta

Added fresh fennel at onion stage. 10/10 delicious and filling. I googled 'with fennel ' and this one didn't have it, but I thought, ah well, at least this blog isn't unusable with all ad popups appearing as you read the dish's life story.

Jamie's crispy pork and noodles. https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pork-recipes/crispy-pork-broccoli-noodles/
You need a login to see the recipe.
6/10. I really liked it, and I really like making my own noodles  but OH asked if it was fake pork or no pork, so perhaps it's a little unbalanced. Second time I tried this, and it scored higher last time, but I had to use ground ginger as the fresh had gone off.  Also, I think it was fattier pork.
    Keep reading books!

Thanks for the recipes Wishus I hadn't thought of raisins and tin fish 🤔 but do like fennel

I freeze my ginger and grate it from frozen including the skin, it's a lot less fibrous and is like ginger 'snow' makes it a lot easy to use and keeps a lot longer

  • Happy to report a 2lbs loss this week please  @Brambling :-) Some great losses in the group so far 🎉

Stuck to my calorie counting, daily yoga and mostly hitting my daily step count. I've also been busy decorating which has burnt a few calories!

I think the key thing has been 'no booze' tbh. I enjoy a snack with a glass of wine, plus there's a few calories in those drinks. Willpower vanishes after the first sip. Not good!

Food this week is greek yogurt (on offer yay!) and fruit for breakfast, soup and a roll for lunch and a homemade something fron the freezer. I'm away with work for a couple of days so it's harder to count what I eat as I'm in a hotel - nice breakfasts, bought lunches and evening meals. I need to have some willpower though!

Morning everyone STS I’m afraid it’s not coming off but I haven’t done a lot of excercise and the weather doesn’t help I know excuses excuses
  • Weigh in today is a 0.5lb gain :(
Not surprising, I've been ravenous this week and due to a resurgence of the lurgy not exercising as much as I'd like.
I'm hopeful it's mostly water weight, because we got a Chinese takeaway this weekend and they always tend to bloat me.
But this week is looking much warmer weather wise, and I'm feeling much better today so I'm hopeful I'll be back on the wagon and showing a loss again next week.
I'm very much looking forward to it being consistently in double digits because I'll be happy to start cycling again, I don't like it in the cold weather and it has definitely impacted my level of weight loss.
But all we can do is keep going!
