Happy New Year everyone.
The last 3 years have frankly been rubbish so I am determined that 2024 is going to be a good one.
Health, house and garden are the focus for this year. I was looking through a scrapbook from a few years ago and cannot believe how lovely my garden looked. Sadly it hasn’t had much tlc in recent years so determined this will be the garden’s year aswell, and a good form of exercise for me.Targets for this year (have already got things ready to go ) are,
Decluttering from house = 500 items
Neutral item decluttering = 500 items (47 items boxed up and ready to go)Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Happy new year
Today I need to declutter the car and give it a clean. I might start the Xmas decs too, but I want to use fabric to wrap this year, which means I need to pull out my stash and chop it up ready to put it in the Xmas box for the loft, making the job twice as long. I also want to declutter the last of the Xmas treats ready to be good.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Good morning, and a happy new year to you all 🍾🎉
Ok I'm going to be more proactive and actually post on here this year instead of hiding away from last year's thread...oops!!
We have all the boxes still to unpack from our move back in September. Yep we are nowhere nearer to finishing then than we were 3 months ago...yikes!!!
Unfortunately I am a wee bit limited now as we have a 11 mth old puppy who is like a toddler and into everything and hardly sleeps..lol Plus I have been diagnosed with a possible fracture in my arm, but definitely tennis elbow, so I'm limited as to what heavy things I can lift now. 😒😕
But I am going to declutter as much as I can now 😆

Good morning all!
Well, I hit the ground running this morning.
Did 2 jobs from my decluttering challenge
(Sorting living room drawers, and getting rid of cups without handles 🙄)
And my decluttering total stands at 110! So happy with myself. I've the mood to do more but don't want to burn out. 😒 so that's a good start, will be getting on with other household chores and home edding. 🏡Decluttering 2024 challenge 🏡

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2024. 🎇🎇
For the first time in many years, (if ever), I actually feel as if I have a blank page in front of me on which to write my life. 2023 was a year that typifies real life; it had highs and it had lows but overall it has been positive. That is a thought that I must learn to hold onto.
I’ve been back in the UK for 6 months now with no regrets. The time was right for me to return and start filling in those blank pages with the life I want to live.
This came up today and I though that there were some nice/positive ideas and all confirm that doing small things can achieve bigger rewards. So never feel that it’s not worth doing the small things, they are the stepping stone to the bigger goals.
NYE was interesting – I went to A & E! 😱 My knee locked while walking across the kitchen. As long as I kept the leg straight, no problem but if I tried to bend it, it was excruciating. Walking, (limping), across the carpark at the hospital there was a slight click and all was good again. The lovely doctor there gave the knee a good check and found nothing wrong long-term. The thought is that the meniscus may have ruffled causing the locking and then returned to normal as I walked. I’m so glad it didn’t happen when I was out somewhere as I wouldn’t have been able to drive back. It was also wonderful having my DS and DiL making sure I got it looked at and driving me to A & E as 111 had suggested.

So, on to the rest of 2024.
Due to moving back there will be lots of things coming into my house once I manage to complete on it: I also have over 300+ boxes being stored by the removal company! The primary goals this year will be to get the major works done on the house so that I can start redecorating.
Replace a removed supporting wall
Replace the collapsing retaining wall at the front of the house
Rewire the house – it has Bakelite in places and only one socket per room
Sort the heating
Start on the garden
After that it will be emptying and collating everything from the boxes. That’s an all-encompassing statement that covers probably at least an A4 sheet of sub-jobs but the general goal here is to start moving out and moving on things that I no longer need and using up what I already have.
I know that with all the encouragement there is on this thread and MrsSD’s wonderful cheerleading that this is going to be a positive year for me. There will be frogs galore as I procrastinate and self-doubt but reading how others tackle theirs and talking about them here will get them done.
Once I get my books and my kitchen stuff out of storage I promise to help keep the TLC carriage stocked with makes and bakes.
Here’s to a successful 2024 everyone. 💕💕

Happy new year to all!
It's already busy in here. Mrs SD did a fantastic job keeping us all motivated last year so I'm not surprised so many are ready for this year.
Goals for this year at tge moment are to reach the 2024 items and to clear some digital clutter. I also need to keep on top of all the work we have done, no piling things back in to the conservatory! Hoping to at least paint each room as we do it. I was telling DH yesterday what colours I want in the conservatory, he wasn't too impressed at the thought of painting/papering it all 🤣 we have found there's a leak in there that needs looking at though.
Right I need to go get dressed, I've not been up long as was still wide awake at 4am, and go fetch DD3s friend that moved away in the summer, she's staying the night here, DD3 was so excited.LBM in April 17 - £14998/£33554 (44.6%) paid. Good morning my fellow declutterati. A brand new year which was toasted in with water by DSis & I, although DH had a snowball 😉 My reason for water, although it was fizzy, was that I had an acid stomach after my Christmas pudding with Baileys cream 😉 Not sure if it was the richness of the pudding or the alcohol from setting it alight 🤔
Today will be an almost completely lazy day due to all the superstitions around New Years Day 😂
I see that our trainee driver has already picked up lots of passengers - many of whom have already started their 2024 decluttering campaign 😊
My first cheerleading post will be a blanket one to welcome back last year’s decluttering family & to give a very warm welcome to our new ‘family’ members 🤗 The TLC Carriage is open for business as are the buffet car, the library, the Spa & the sleep pods. All other carriages including the new wagon car & the even newer carriages housing a cinema & a well stocked crafting room will be open over the next couple of days.
I see that our veterans have made a great start on welcoming our new cadets & that the cheerleading has already started 🥳 I have started a brand new Notebook which will contain the names (and any targets set) of all our 2024 Declutterati - currently 60 of us as follows (in no particular order 😉):
StickyTheStickInsect, dND, Liverpool_Anne, Brie, FlowerPot, Wednesday2000, flamingo747, Fizz2015, Muddy_Walker, Deni_debt-free_dreamer, Pennypincin, MadamMim2013, Floss, TC77, short_bird, weenancyinAmerica, GrannyKate, leftatthetrafficlights, oceanspirit, C_Charlie, vulpix, tiddles, QueenJess, diminua, Foofoopuppy, Soontobeoap, charlies_tribe, Moorviews, foxandflowers, CMD79, sumb7170, EnergyShifter, Betharooni, itsthelittlethings, Mamaofmanybudgets, basketcase, bellabella, retiredinfrance, bamboo_socks, TheScarletPixie, oystercatcher, Nailqueen, thriftwizard, Money_Choices, Happy_Kitties, regnbue, nannywindow, SuffolkSue, florianatwobob, daisy_1571, nellis10, SIRENS, Natty68, Brambling, ilovetea, Chocolatedrinker, AlwaysAllie, wishus, balabooberlies- oh and me of course 😉
So Welcome Aboard everyone 😊 Cwtches all round 🤗🤗🤗 and 🥂 to a successful 2024 😊
