Hi all, I was up early to take OHs car to the garage and we have been out for the day for lunch w with OHs family. Lovely home cooked roast with loads of veg and christmas pudding
I have just dropped OH back at the garage, unloaded the car and made a cuppa. I am exhausted so I am posting now in case I fall asleep

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
We sat around for a while drinking tea/coffee whilst DH’s niece S went to the hospital (her DH had gone to work even though he is supposed to be retired 😉 he is just not very good at it 🤣) Then we went next door to DH’s DSis, had another cuppa & saw one of the great nephews (L) who had not been at yesterday’s family lunch 🙂 S returned & the planned lunch at the pub was ditched (too perishing cold even with the sunshine & clear blue skies 😂) in favour of ordering in 😉 The pizzas, cheesy garlic bread & potato wedges were delicious & enough leftover for L’s dinner 😉 We wrapped up warm, said our goodbyes & set off about 14:20. Unfortunately it was so cold 🥶 that we started to suffer about 15minutes into our journey. We got home about 15:15 having decided that an sm visit could wait until we weren’t already so cold 🥶 DSis made us hot drinks & I unpacked our bags. DSis gets a medal 🏅 for using up a pizza from the freezer last night 🥳 Heating is on & I am finally warming up 3 hours later 😉 I am several pages behind but will try very hard to catch up over the next couple of days 🤞
GrannyKate, well done on resisting the temptation to buy anything other than loose-leaf decaf tea for DD 👏 Now comes the task of reminding DS2 that he has to fill up a CS bag with clothes 😉 Sorry to hear about BIL - hope he is soon on the mend 🤞
~FlowerPot~ going out to lunch - what a lovely Sunday habit to cultivate 😊 We had a lovely family day 😊 More than happy to share the rock cakes recipe - I have made a note for when we get home 😉
flamingo747, sorry to hear that the cough is still persisting 😔 Definitely a day for the TLC Carriage 😊
Wednesday2000, that sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday - a bit of tidying/decluttering followed by a video, rinse & repeat 😊 Well done on your NSD on Saturday 👏
Lovely post bit_by_bit 😊 & some great tips for CoffeeSonata 👏 Beef it is & I hope your appetite returns soon 🤞A busy day out of the TLC Carriage 👏 but I hope you are now safely back there 😊 Seems like only yesterday that your DD went to Canada 😉
wishus, I am quite jealous as I do think counting coins is fun 🤩 Topped off by washing my hands afterwards - all that handling of ‘filthy’ lucre 😂 Banking the money is also rather gratifying 😉
2Scratters, just a reminder that once you are aboard the EDT it is Impossible to fall off 😉 You might find yourself in the additional carriage we added to the back of the EDT this year - a sort of wagon carriage completely surrounded by sturdy netting but it is easy enough to start making your way through the train to the other carriages - through the baggage section, past the sleep pods & the small ‘petting’ area (mainly dogs & cats), past the reading & computer rooms & into the TLC Carriage with its massage chairs etc 😊 Not forgetting the buffet car & the seating only cars with tea trollies passing through every 90 minutes 😊 Excellent decluttering of your parent’s house 👏 & well done on continuing to deal with frogs 👏
Some great decluttering diminua 👏 Your total might be ‘creeping along’ but you are Still making progress 🥳
GrannyKate, I must check my rhubarb - hopefully it is also budding 🤞 A medal 🏅 for DS2 for sorting out a frog 👏 Excellent decluttering by you with the assistance of both DGS4 & DS2 👏
QueenJess, sorry to hear that DS has a ‘virus thingy’ 😔 so your entire weekend has been spent providing 24 hour care 😔 Although I see you still managed to do some decluttering & tidying 👏 Hopefully DS is now better & back at school 🤞If he is then please, please try to get some sleep 🙏
What a wonderful post Liverpool_Anne 😊 - you are now a fully fledged member of the Cheerleading Squad 🥳
TC77, I think that at this point in your life, with so much on your plate, getting the oven fixed is probably the right decision for you 😊🤔 Perhaps once you move you could reconsider getting a multi cooker 😉 I agree that it is very uplifting to hear about women of all ages leaving bad relationships 😊
Muddy_Walker, well done on finding your last post 👏 Not sure there is a quick way 🧐 Excellent decluttering 👏 As to Dog 2 not being the brightest, it did make me laugh 🤭
Moan away nannywindow 😊 I think I would be moaning too - a dry cough is so debilitating especially if you cannot get a decent night’s sleep 😔 Some great decluttering 👏 & good luck in the Room of Doom aka office 🍀
florianatwobob, your garden sounds wonderful 😊 Might I ask if you do anything special to/for your rhubarb?
Thanks for that QueenJess 👏
vulpix, DH did a great job with both the focaccia & rock cakes - they were very popular at yesterday’s family lunch 😊 What a lovely way to describe your love of decluttering “I could easily be a declutterer. I would do it for free, I enjoy making places into a comfy space. Like having a dolls house on a large scale.” Loving the conversation about violets 🙂 I am a bit of a dinosaur - I love using both cash & cheques 😂 Sorry to hear that you have been feeling under the weather 🤧 & fingers crossed that your cough departs swiftly 🤞 Good luck with reducing your fabric stash 🍀 Not sure why manufacturers make their appliances so complicated 😔
florianatwobob, sounds like you a ‘hardy gardener’ venturing out in the cold 🥶
Foofoopuppy, a very successful decluttering of make-up 👏 Always nice when you pick up on a mini project that others have already done 😊
CMD79, I had to smile at your description “borderline hoarders” 😁 I am trying very hard to wean myself off keeping every single used envelope to use as scrap paper 🤣 The bottles of Woollite MUST GO 😉😂
Well said Floss 👏 It is a fine line between putting too much pressure on ourselves & setting targets 😥
BlueJ94, thank you for being brave & posting a photo of your roommates of doom 🥳 I really like that jumper 😉 Good luck 🍀
Time to sort some dinner out - hopefully the sausages have defrosted 🤞 Will try to get back later & do something more cheerleading 🙂

I did have good intentions after dinner but was sidetracked. The plan is to turn my small bedroom into a craft room the bed was rehomed a few years ago but that is as far as I have got other than move some of the crafting stuff upstairs for it to work it's way down again. I planned to sort some of the non crafting junk dumped in there but was side tracked with WIPs 🫣 which were more fun than decluttering 😁 tomorrow is another dayLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin21

Not sure If I mentioned the 5 boxes of photos I bought downstairs from the little room to sort through. It is still my intention to cull half of them, but it became very apperant that this is going to be much harder than I thought. It is fairly easy to get rid of out of focus or grainy or landscape pictures, but childhood and family and friends pictures are much much harder! Also alot oare DHs early life (pre me) and he was looking at a small grainy picture of Silbury hill and said oh this is Silbury hill. I replied, well that one can go then (as its grainy and conatains no people or a connection worth keeping (to a normal person)) to which he replied, No, i want to keep that one ~ there is no hope!!!!Hoping to carry on with the sorting tomorrow firstly I am sorting through old old, my childhood, adult before children and children then I will go through again each set and see what isnt needed. I am hoping DH will see the light and join in. We really do not need a grainy picture of Silbury hill
Oh weird to say, i really do have nothing against silbury hill, just out of the 1000s of photos we have i don't think a 1970s grainy photo is one we need to keep! 🤣♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

My lovely birthday weekend has come to an end. Met friend for lunch yesterday. He gave me a beautiful framed print which I am very happy to have as an "IN". Today was a fairly leisurely catching up with myself day. Went for a lovely walk in the woods in the afternoon - its been a while since I've done that which is bonkers as its so close.
Two Seasalt (Sale) jumpers (which are my birthday present from DS) arrived in the post and I like them both - happy to have those as "IN"s also. I will take a look to see if there are any old jumpers that can be retired when I get the chance.

Just popping on to suggest something for a dry cough - the reason honey helps is because it pulls all the teeny tiny hairs in your throat downwards- when you cough it irritates them so they don’t lie flat. However not everyone likes or can have honey so if you can’t get hold of a dry cough medicine, try a thick jam or even peanut butter. Won’t cure it but it does help. And tastes nice too!

Hugs to all those in need, and so sorry to hear about so many youngsters struggling but hopefully with help and diagnosis early and much better understanding of neurodiversity in recent things will get easier. DD2 diagnosed at 25 with ADHD and had she had support rather than treated as the most naughty and defiant child may have had an easier time, however as they get older and can express their feelings it does get easier,
Multicooker picked up, took CS bag and 2 items to return to post office, and out of date meds on my way to check from op couple of months ago, and all good. Did wash and hoovered DD2 room as will be march before she's back and wanted nothing was going to fester - not too bad, lots of odd socks, threw away out of date food, and decided I will use up freezer and store cupboard food, as I bought it should be able to eat it
bought new to me jeans from CS (think may have been new but had loose stitching on zip so maybe seconds) - mended it and tear in my hoodie that DD2 pointed out. Feels positive as haven't mended anything for ages, few other bits out, going to work early tomorrow as long lunch today. Unsubscribed from a few things.
I need to have a system for recording nos but rounding up to 90.

~FlowerPot~, an excellent start 👏 Sorry to hear about your sister but how lovely to have letters from her 😊 Good luck with the photo decluttering 🍀
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏
Excellent work BudgetingBelinda 👏 It can be quite surprising how quickly the ‘little & often’ approach to decluttering shows results as to how much progress you are making 😊
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏
Excellent work BlueJ94 👏 Not only can you see some floor but also monkey peeping out from behind the rolls of wrapping paper 😊
Fizz2015 just a quick précis - P38 = 10/2024, emails 200/7000 + p47 some decluttering but no numbers mentioned, p69 = +14 Therefore totals to page 69 inclusive are 24/2024 & emails 200/7000 👏 Sorry to hear that DD is saving her tantrums for home 😊 Hopefully someone here will come up with some ideas or recommendations of who to approach to get some help 🤞You are correct, the TLC Carriage does have a spa with both masseurs & masseuses - whichever you prefer 😉
BlueJ94, that is excellent decluttering in the bathroom 👏
I have caught up a teeny, tiny bit more 🙂 but am now heading off to bed as I have just noticed the time 😬

The rhubarb survives and thrives through benign neglect (a gardening theme for us). It gets watered during extreme heat and maybe some plant food at the same time and gets knocked out compost from pots as/when we have any or if we remember. Most importantly it hates being waterlogged but as it’s on a small ridge/slope a lot of water drains off.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
