Betharooni said:Not a huge amount of decluttering going on here during this week as it has been nonstop at work this week and I’ve been too exhausted to do anything much after work. However this morning before work I took a bag of warm items (including a couple of items I made to use up spare wool) to local foodbank for them to hand out where needed, and this afternoon I took 5 large carrier bags of unwanted clothes that I sorted out over the last couple of weeks and an unneeded concertina folder to the charity shop. So at least most of the things I’ve decided I don’t want are now out of the house.Am thinking about a couple of other things that I might try to sell, just need to start getting some of the things I want to sell out, take pictures of them and get them posted on selling sites. Will make a start with a couple of the items this weekend I think.
Decluttering plans this weekend are to clear the floor of my bedroom and make space to move my chest of drawers through to DB1s room, finish the amigurumi elephant I’m making, sort through and organise some books and sort out some of the piles and boxes round my chair in the living room. Would also like to pop to the gym and will be taking DMum and DB1 to local shopping centre as they have a few things they want to get there. Might possibly get a couple of little bits at the supermarket there but not planning on getting anything much.B xOnwards and upwards…21 -
Round trip to drop DD2 back to uni, she took blender and 2 casserole dishes and lots of food (4), but came back to find the large pan and steamer on the kitchen floor left behind. I bit my tongue and didn't nag her about leaving things abit messy -as now time for her to do, and last night she had bags packed by the front door for today, and gave me permission to retrieve things, and had mopped and tidied extension the other day as friends came by so haven't given up hope. She won't be back til March so going to set an example and get things straight.
Hope to drop bag to CS tomorrow and multicooker picked up.
Writing list for week ahead and will do totals for tomorrow (+5).23 -
Hi all, managed to get some stuff done today
. 4 more pairs of sunday socks into the cs rag bag, 3 LDFPA including the tea towels, 1 had to go to the rag bag but the rest came out clean after the soak
, won't be ashamed to put them on the line now
. 9 cardboard boxes broken down and put in the recycling and last years calendar recycled after transcribing birthdays etc.. 2 loads of washing on the maiden now but they will take a couple of days to dry as there are a couple of heavy cotton sweatshirts.
@nannywindow hugs from me as another cougher, drives you mad doesn't it
@florianatwobob your garden sounds better and better the more I read
@Vulpix yes cash can be a rarity but I must admit to making a conscious effort to use it when I can. OH has a cash based business so I am often handed wodges for OH"a share of things and if I don't use it end up with loads in my purse so it is usually my go to unless I am paying for a big shop. Also I think it does help small businesses as I think they have to pay for a digital transaction. Some places I go, like the footy are now completely cashless and initially that annoyed me as I never took cards to the match but I have had to accept it
@CMD79 scraps of cardmaking paper I can relate to, I have a few things like that, and scraps of ribbon etc, you are not alone. Some of it I blame on the fact I used to teach and we would get through loads of stuff like that making various things and now I am retired I am having a problem breaking the habit though I have cracked the yoghurt pots which now go into the recycling
. 1 habit at a time
. As for woollite just ask yourself if you are realistically going to use it and would it still be ok to use after all this time? I had a similar conumdrum with my box of shoe cleaning stuff. It took 3 goes at the box before I finally admitted that the caked creams were not going to be used and I binned them
@BlueJ94 I have a couple of places like that, you have worked wonders in 2 hours
@GrannyKate, no Wi-Fi, what a great trickwell done
@Fizz2015 you have my sympathies re meltdowns. I used to work with quite a few children on the spectrum and we often found that the best behaved in school had massive meltdowns at home, they seemed to save them up and it is very hard to cope with. We also had children who had meltdowns in school so I have been on the receiving end of some of the kicks and punches. I recommend you ask for help asap. You have done everything you can and now need more help. If the school can't help they should be able to refer you to somebody who can help. I would warn that it can take a while so the sooner you ask the better and be persistent. We usually found the louder the parents were the quicker help was sorted. Big hugs
Right off to bed now as I have to be up early as OH's car is going in for a service and mot early and then we are going to visit OH's family for twice delayed boxing day lunch. Christmas presents will be delivered , yay, but stuff will come back
63 - 65 LDFPA
66 - 74 cardboard boxes recycled
75 old calendar recycled
Take care everyone

@Fizz2015 it’s so tough isn’t it. We have similar here, DS1 masks very effectively in school but home is a different story. DS2 is beginning to struggle in the same way and my DD has just had another referral rejected, so I completely get how challenging it can be.I’ve found being a parent of neurodivergent children can be very isolating, so if you ever want to chat or just vent, just drop me a message.

Morning everyone, well all my best laid plans of mice and men didn't go quite right at the weekend..lol. One box got decluttered and things either thrown/bagged up for CS/taken up to loft from the many boxes here still. And that was it I'm afraid..😢
Spent a good part of the time on the sofa watching the birds in our garden - it's quite a haven for different bird varieties and is so lovely to see, especially as in our old house we hardly saw more than two varieties 😉 When I wasn't doing that I was asleep on the sofa..
But I'm up with a vengeance this morning, having puppy time before DH gets up then I'll have my shower and get on with today's things to do.
I've also finally got round to Econsulting my Drs regarding my meds going over to generic and not my usual branded ones I had before I changed Drs, and them not working. I had been putting it off as I didn't want to be a pain but as my new surgery still hasn't got my medical records after three months I'm having to bring it up. Plus they won't be aware how serious my mental health actually is.. Apparently it takes an age for drs records from England to move to your new Welsh drs. Gods only knows why...
Hope everyone is ok and you are all plodding on in your own way xxxMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Usual morning rush to get us ready to make breakfast club and the office.
@Liverpool_Anne and @StickyTheStickInsect thankyou so much for you words and support they mean a lot. Will be trying different avenues for support. Not sure if fully on spectrum but definitely showing some characteristics. It's harder when she is well behaved at schools and clubs. Will be speaking to the school yet again today.21 -
@Fizz2015 my eldest dd is the same. She has always had anxiety even when tiny but now everything is reaching a point where I am really concerned. Dd has always been really well behaved at school, puts her head down and gets on with the work so no problems on that side thankfully. But by the time we walk to the car (5 mins) all h€ll breaks loose. Screaming, shouting, spiteful to her younger brother and sister, tears, shaking all over and just a complete meltdown. 2 weeks ago she was trying to rip the child seats out the car (she got in the car first, her brother and sister were safe). Every day we have tummy aches and over the past week headaches too. Tears in the morning and stays up late in her bed because she cannot settle. Obviously it is not just anxiety at work here. I am doing my best at minimising the effect on everyone in the house but it is virtually impossible. Doesn't help that dh is about as much help as a chocolate teapot 🙄.

Decluttering plans today: see if I can fill bag 8 and 9...Unfortunately girls seem to learn to mask very early on. My DD is 15 diagnosed at ASD at 10/11 Year 6. Huge amounts of anxiety, everything was and still is so stressful for her. Didnt manage secondary school transition at all. Is finally learning now at year 11, but not in school! it has been one hell of a ride and still contines as we struggle to get her a place at college. When i used to collect her from primary school I learnt not to ask her about her day at all, because it didnt help, I would say how lovely it was to see her and hand her a small snack. She was always hungry and having something before we got to the car helped. (blood sugar levels) Then usualy in the car on the way home (only 5 mins away by car) she would open up about something about her day, but not always. I learned to try very hard not to put demands on her. Even asking questions is demanding an answer ~ that sounds absurd, but from their point of view it isnt! I have found anxiety is much higher when they are feeling out of corntrol. giving them a choice (but not too much choice) is helpful so they feel a certain level of control does help.My inbox is always open, I am no expert but I do have 2 of my three that are ASD. Remeber you are not alone, there are many many others whose children are not coping in school. School want children to fit neatly into boxes all my children are square pegs !!! the boxes I have found at school are getting smaller as the demands of results results results are pushed right through the system from reception up.♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Morning all
My sympathies will all who are having problems with children. I had a 'non sleeper' and was often so tired that I could barely function. @Natty68 - as far as I know GP records go via another body for transfer - used to be the old FHSA but there have been so many reorganisations that I'm not sure where it happens now. They used to do some sort of analysis of the record before passing it on. GPs do not all use the same IT systems so transfers are not as simple as we might expect with all your records on a computer. Unlikely to be your old GP that's holding it up. Some more frogs to do for DS2 today. Will hopefully report in some 'wins' later today.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
