Thursday: having rained overnight, it stayed dry all day. Paid the milkman before I went to bed & gave hum his Christmas box 😉 did notice that the milk prices went up 🙁 but the convenience to me outweighs the cost 🙂 A forecast high of 14°C (felt colder) 🤨 I was up before 11:00 but after writing a shopping list I did nothing apart from knit & watch TV. The recycling wheelie bin had been emptied on the correct day 🥳 DH went out on the bike for petrol & a small shop in Lidl. Dinner was shop bought pies, mash & frozen mixed vegetables. Wudupa.

Friday: A dry bright crisp day with an expected high of 9°C (but feeling like 3°C) I was up just after 11:00 & have menu planned & fine tuned the shopping list. I will come back shortly & do the cheerleading 😉

@London_1 please take care of yourself. It's been a long week, but my cupboards, fridge and freezer are completely rammed full and so I am hoping no food shopping will be required until 2025 now. Not much decluttering going on here, just trying to make full use of everything I do own at the moment. Earlier I used an empty cereal box and some too small scraps of wrapping paper to make some gift tags. Saved some paper/cardboard from the recycling.Digital:
40 - wish list items deleted
10 - photos deleted
3 - notes deleted
Physical:
4 - books (Buy Nothing)
2 - gift wrap used up
1 - packaging reused
1 - bathroom overstock used upNew total = 17,688I still need to get back to the digital photo declutter, but seem to have lost interest in that at the moment. I have at least got my email inbox to under 40 items. Plan to put my feet up this afternoon for a change and am not doing any baking today. There's plenty of time for baking on Monday (will be making mince pies with DS).

Helloooooooo!I have finally finished my last working day of 2024 and as we have had half the usual team since the beginning of November it has been very tiring!
I have skimmed through the pages and of course promptly forgotten everything 🤣
I am actually in bed ready for a snooze with both dogs cwtched up. One is snoring her pretty little head off and the other is trying to get the entire bed to himself.
All ready for Christmas present wise - they are even wrapped and some have been given out - go me!!! We haven’t done cards for years as we give a donation to charity each year. It varies from mountain rescue to cancer to lupus to food banks. We do try to give to local charities not the big ones as the big ones get so much in any case. This year was my cancer charity as it is rare and doesn’t get any funding from the big cancer charities- what a long winded way of saying no cards have ben written!
we’ve both had the lurgy, mine lasted a week but hubby lasted 4!!!!!!! 😳
Tomorrow is winter solstice and I plan on going to the local garden centre to see if any little plants would like a new home……
I want to do lots of decluttering while I’m off so I might make my target yet!!!!!!!!
I’ll update figures and signature over the weekend.Take care everyone xxxxxxx

I haven’t posted as I still have the lurgy with a hacking cough. Now on antibiotics and have spent a lot of time sleeping. Took me 3 days to decorate the Christmas tree but did eventually get it done. Typical that I’ve felt really festive but spent most of the time grounded or asleep! Small amount of decluttering but it does take me past my target so very happy, there are still items to drop off to the CS.Now ready for Christmas, if it happened tomorrow I would be ready apart from wrapping one present!497) I had some plastic straws in the cupboard that DD had brought back from uni and they had just sat in the cupboard-taken to be used by friend
498)-499) two cat toys thrown out
500) last bag of Joy delivered (71 completed in total)
501) found a box of Christmas cards that I used up, and odd cards found were also used up.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi all, today started well as I finally remembered to sort the sample requested by the Dr and took it to the surgery. While I was there I picked up the form for OH's blood test and then went to the pharmacy for something for OH that's not in our local pharmacy. When I got home I did a bit of ironing.
Then the day went right over a cliff. Got a phone call from a friend's daughter to say her Dad had died during the night. He hadn't felt too good on Wednesday, thought he was getting a cold, spent Thursday in bed feeling not well but when my friend went in this morning having spent the night in the spare room so he could sleep better, she couldn't wake him. She phoned an ambulance but he didn't revive. I can't really express how I felt, shocked, upset for my friend, worried for her as her daughter said she wasn't in a good place, understandably and it proper took the wind out of my sails. I think it's that feeling of helplessness that there is nothing you can do that always overwhelms me at times like this. I spent the afternoon doing nothing productive apart from a bit of crochet after tea. Now I am struggling to get to sleep.
I am going to try to do something tomorrow, and we are out in the evening at a carol singing thing so a few presents and cards will go out then.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Whilst DH & DSis are out I took the opportunity to descale the kettle. DH did the driving. All shopping put away. Step uncle phoned - mixed news: one of his granddaughters got married last year but sadly his wife had a very bad fall 6 months ago (face first & unconscious for 10 minutes) & after a month in hospital whilst her physical injuries healed she is now in a care home as her mental faculties have declined 😔 The rest of the family are all doing well. Dinner was fish, chips & peas. DSis not feeling well so didn’t eat hers. DH made a beef based soup - more like a stew 😉 Wudupa. After a mostly dry day it started raining about 20:00.

One more week on holiday then back to sorting things out at home. Managed to nudge a couple of frogs along whilst here and will try to do another this weekend whilst the weather is bad.
Everything sorted for Christmas except one more present and collecting the turkey joint and veg on Monday (both ordered so should be easy).
Having to keep OH in check re food shopping as he wants to buy more but doesn't want lots leftover to take home! He's worried we don't have enough treats/snack foods but we have sufficient for the week plus some for the journey home. We have started on the Christmas chocolate as we have finished the every day chocolate that we normally have in and that's what triggered the panic.
Liverpool Anne, so sorry to read about your friend's husband and that your friend is not in a good way. Hugs for you and your friend and her daughter.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅16 -
Sorry to read that Liverpool Anne.
We have had a stressful week as my cat died on Monday. She had a seizure and died at home. It was very quick and at least we both were there with her. My husband had a funeral for his aunt mid week and then he found out there had been another death in his family the day after.
I am going to be very glad to just spend Christmas at home as we have been back and forth into London all week. We had a concert in Brixton last night that I really wasn't in the mood for, but went to anyway.
Decluttering wise we are going to do a big declutter and organise of both our wardrobes and airing cupboard over the next few days.2025 GOALS

Sorry to hear about your friend’s husband @Liverpool_Anne. What a worrying time for you. I think those pesky pixies reside at my house too haha. @Wednesday2000 so sorry about your little cat. Such a desperately sad time. They bring us such joy but heartbreak at the same time. Do take care @London_1. Let your family help out as much as possible. Have a good day everyone15
