Sunday: it was bright & sunny at 09:30 when DH got up & had a bath 🙂 Still bright at 10:00 when I got up but only lasted until 10:45 when it came over all dark & cloudy. DSis has also had a bath & we are now all presentable & will be setting off shortly. We set off at 11:15, DSis driving, traffic was fairly light & we made good time arriving at the venue @ 12:25 by which time the sun was back & the temperature was a balmy 14°C 🙂 ‘Birthday boy’s’ DD (S) & her family were already there making sure everything was set up. The rest of T’s family turned up over the next 30 to 40 minutes with T & W arriving about 12:50. There were 25 of us in all - 4 generations including 4 youngsters (so I was able to declutter the last of the Christmas cards 😉). Waitress service for our first course - all options were delicious, carvery for main course with a choice of turkey, beef or gammon & waitress service for the dessert course. Lots of laughter, chat & catching up. Sang Happy Birthday & 90 years young birthday boy made a short speech 😊 he really does not like being the centre of attention 😉 The party broke up about 16:30 with half the family going to S’s for coffee & cake & the ‘Opening of the Gifts & Cards’ 😉 More chat & laughter with several of us heading off about 18:15. DSis drove again as she had only imbibed soft drinks. Traffic was slightly heavier on the return trip but we were indoors by 19:40. A wonderful day & the weather was very kind - just a small rainfall about 16:15 whilst we were all still indoors 😊 As an aside, my DSis was slightly aggrieved as she had been trying to avoid finding out who won SCD but during lunch the venue had turned on the TV (which was directly in her line of sight) & there was a segment about the winner 😔 🙊
When we got home DSis & I watched the last two episodes of TWD + the spinoff series The Ones Who Live before heading to bed about 04:00
Monday is back to being dull & overcast but still mild with a forecast high of 11°C. I will return later to catch up with the cheerleading. Hope everyone is enjoying their day so far 😊

Went to SA this morning and got Mr F dressed as Santa for the playgroup children. All went well.
Then we started on the mountain of donations in the foyer. I put a table outside and keeping putting bits on it.
Next we emptied the 1st crate in the alley - it was almost full but needed to be sorted. A Church friend gave us a hand. I found some good coats for the rough sleepers and some hats.
I still need to empty and sort crate no 2 but that can be tomorrow. Crates are due to be emptied this week.
Mr F fell over at SA - didn't hurt himself.
Took photos for V and wrapped & labelled sales.
Sales on V of £14.50 - Saturday and £37.50 - Sunday.
Mrs SD - yes he got enough fish & chips for two. In fact it lasts us 2 days as the portions are so big.

Enjoy your travels and your Christmas @vulpix 🎄
Thank you for my medal Mrs SD. It sounds like you had a wonderful time at the party 😊
Belated Happy Birthday @Siebrie 🎂
The advent sorting has continued with two big bags to the CS. I hope some of the things will make nice Christmas presents for people. A bag into the clothing bank too. Christmas cards are finally going out. I don’t know why I find it so difficult to write them as I love the people that I am sending them to.Of course stuff is coming in too, with parcels arriving somewhat randomly and crazily not on schedule. I wouldn’t like to be a delivery driver right now! Christmas cards and letters which are lovely to receive. I have yet to do the grocery shopping (dreading the busyness of the supermarket) but have the main items on order from the butcher.18 -
Hi all, another quick post as I am desperately in need of milk so have to pop to the sm
Yesterday was a nice day, lunch with friends, 3 presents and 2 gift bags decluttered. We also called to see the niece and the baby so 6 meals decluttered from the freezer, might be able to fit something in there nowand a toy duck for the bath aquired by OH from somewhere that had been lurking for a while
. It was a big hit with the baby who then had to show me his whole animal collection
. A worn out quilt was binned and when we got home I finished knitting a pair of fingerless mitts as part of a present. Also remembered to order my meds to last me over the holiday period.
I have several phone calls to make today, they are frogs that are turning into alligators and I really don't know why I am avoiding them
@Vulpix have a great time on your travels
Right I will have to get going if I want another cuppa today
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Tuesday: Started dark & dreary at 09:30 & has got darker over the next hour. I ham being very slow in catching up with the cheerleading 😔 It is getting darker & darker although there is no rain forecast 🤔
vulpix, this “……….. Gives me hope about my bi monthly pointless communication with my Mothers bank. We are now at the point where they write letters to her at her new address to say they cannot change her address!” beggars belief 🤪 Great work re-knitting the back of the jumper - hopefully no longer a 72” chest measurement 😉😉
Liverpool_Anne some good decluttering 👏 but a shame about the champagne flute 😔 Hopefully OH got his batch cooking done & you managed to sort the fridge ready for Christmas food 🤞Lovely cheerleading 😊
Pennypincin, fingers crossed you managed to declutter the presents on Sunday 🤞
QueenJess, very pleased to hear that your DD is so much better & that DH took the children off your hands on Sunday 😊 I understand you were keen to catch up with the laundry & the baking, but I do hope that you got at least some rest 🙏 Some great decluttering especially using up food stocks 👏 Great use of Buy Nothing & I am just as impressed as your DH about the Christmas Tree 🤩
Florenceem, so pleased to hear that MrF managed to attend Church on Sunday ☺️ Another busy day 🤩 Please, please take care 🙏 as your fall sounds very painful 😣
weenancy, another of our Declutterati family who had a busy Sunday 👏 Even though I am rather ‘bah humbug’ your Sister’s house decoration sounds beautiful 😻 Hope you had an absolutely wonderful time at the Christmas open house 😊
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 I do hope you didn’t spend too much time reading the 1996 newspapers which were lining the garage shelves 😉 The new curtains sound lovely 😻 Fingers crossed that the roofer turned up on Monday 🤞
vulpix, the “bun fight” sounds so joyous 🥹 & how lovely that you have finally met your stepson’s partner ☺️ Sorry I missed you but I hope you have a marvellous Christmas & I look forward to hearing all about it when you have time to post 😊 Hope you & MrV have a lovely Vulpixmas 😊 I am still blushing at such a lovely compliment ☺️
TC77 sounds very much like active lazing what with all the digital decluttering 👏
2Scratters, what a bonus discovering how to delete 26K emails & gaining so much storage 👏 Definitely deserves a medal 🏅 which is on its way 🙂 Great work with the decluttering 👏 remember slow & steady wins the race 😊 Also excellent work reducing the attic clutter 🥳
Liverpool_Anne, very pleased to hear that you had a relaxing & restful Sunday 😊 Is it too much to hope that OH tidied the kitchen after his batch cooking session 🧐 Hope you had a great time yesterday 😊
Florenceem , another busy day at SA & listing on V 👏 Pleased to hear that MrF’s stint as Santa went well ☺️ but sorry to hear about his fall 😔 Yippee to MrF being back from Coventry - presumably just in time for his Santa duties 😅
Excellent decluttering Moorviews 👏 No need to worry too much about ‘stuff’ coming in as I imagine most of it will be going out over the next couple of weeks 😉 I am just so lucky that DH is such a wonderful man & does all the grocery shopping 🥳
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 & very happy to hear that you had such a lovely day 😊 Good luck tackling your frogs before they turn into alligators 🍀

Mr F went out with 9 parcels yesterday evening while I listed on V.
Sales of £21.50 yesterday.
Today we were back at SA - our friend arrived to help again. We sorted no 2 crate and put a table outside of bits plus 2 large Christmas trees.
We cleared a lot of donations and decided we had done enough for today. As we were leaving - a woman arrived with a car full of donations.
Then even more donations arrived so you can't really see where we had worked so hard.
Today social workers and school liaison people were coming to collect toys for struggling families as part of our annual appeal. The local Prim... needed the mini bus to collect all they had been given.
Came home and had lunch then went to order a spare pair of close work glasses.
I had a parcel to post in town and one to collect on the way home.
I have heard that my sewing machine is arriving tomorrow. So excited.
Photo of the cushions - they look like they need a good pummel.

In awe as ever of all the crafty folk here, would take me hours if not a weekend to do a cushion cover!
Vintage Xmas lights sold and posted so counting as 2 due to packaging.
Hoping when dd2 has handed in her assignments I can check with her if she wants some things before going to cs then I can edge closer to target.
Forgot that friend has bags ( full of things) of mine which they reminded me of and dropping off next Sunday:(14 -
OH suddenly decided to rid the house of various cardboard boxes. (mostly his so it's his responsibility!!!)
As he was going to the tip I asked him to take a piece of glass I'd acquired along with some frames from freegle. He said it made a lovely smash at the tip. Nice but I'm more pleased that I've regained the back seat of my car where the glass has been for a couple of weeks!!!
