I was up and out early on Friday morning as C and I went to a budget meeting at a local corps. It went on for over 4 hours.
Came home to an empty house - no note to say where Mr F had gone. Mr F came back home 10 minutes before he was due to leave for his Doctor's appt. Mr F had taken it upon himself to take cds to SA and put them outside on a table for people to take. I was hopping mad as I was going to offer them to someone at SA before letting others see them.
Mr F went off to the Dr by himself then travelled to Coventry.
I communicated with Mr F to say that I was on strike and not going to cook dinner so he went for fish & chips.
I listed on V and wrapped parcels - in silence.

We emptied two rooms in a friend’s apartment last night, where she kept stuff from her late Mum and Uncle especially for Africa. Husband received news on Thursday night that the sea container destined for his country would close its doors today at noon. He took three trips from our home to the container today and it’s all gone! No more obligations!
For my birthday yesterday I received a kind of soft fleece knight’s helmet to wear while cycling and keep my head chin and neck warm, a headband-headset that I spotted on Suttons Daze yootoob, and a set of sparkly earrings.

Just a quick post as nothing much to add. Thanks for the medal Mrs SD. Frogs didn't get done but I will persevere. Amused to see many have frogs which have become alligators or dinosaurs. I have spent day with DS2 and DGS4 shopping and car hunting. Took DS2 to see one I found yesterday and he really liked it. The smaller version of his car, which I already like driving, but a hybrid so a tentative foot into the world of EV. Children assure me it's a doddle once I get used to it. I have committed to buy it - 3 years old as I think brand new is a waste of money. Lots of money but my car has had it. Traded old car in - not an exciting value but it is in a bad way really although bodywork is good. Deposit paid and collecting on 27th. I could have had it earlier although that was a push and I think I need to get used to it before making long journeys so I will take DS2's car down to my daughters on 22nd.
Got passport photos done for DGS4 - less hassle than doing it ourselves for a 9 year old. Some shopping done as well - DS2 had a voucher from work which took a chunk off the bill. DD's last chicken (of 4 rescue hens) died today - it was well past the age they are supposed to live for and had long stopped laying eggs but they let it live out its natural span in luxury for several years after its companions had gone. DGS1 has complicated plans to landscape the chicken area in a vaguely classic style! He is back from skiing which he enjoyed but he has a very frugal nature and was appalled by the prices in the French ski resort. I am going to take train to see DS1 and family after Christmas but annoyed to find there are no direct trains running that week.
Hopefully, DIL and DS2 will help to hang the shortened curtains tomorrow. Children here tonight as they have gone to a birthday party.

@Siebrie - Belated Happy Birthday.
Cold day here.
Mr F went to town with parcels and bits for the charity shop.
I have been listing on V and managed a day indoors - first for 4 weeks.
I have bought myself a new sewing machine - so will have 6 but plan to declutter 3 of them. I really wasn't happy with how my existing machine performed on velvet yesterday and as I have 3 pairs of velvet curtains to make - bit the bullet. I am getting a semi industrial which can handle all types of fabrics.
I am hoping they can deliver my new machine before Christmas so I can play with it while SA is closed.
I will get rid of my industrial sewing machine which is in a table so will have more space in my craft room.
I have decided that I need to have a good declutter in my craft room and the craft storage room.

Well I didn’t do much apart from knitting & watching episodes of Midsomer Murders. Dinner was a use up one - lo cheesy pasta for DH & lo spaghetti with pesto sauce & cooked salmon for me. DSis was feeling under the weather so had a tin of chicken soup. I treated myself to a long soak in the bath. Wudupa

Florenceem, I do hope MrF bought fish’n’chips for 2 🤞Hopefully he has been able to make his way back from Coventry.
Belated Happy Birthday Siebrie 🎂💐 Great news that you have managed to declutter all your stuff & your friend’s stuff for Africa 👏 Does this mean that DH is off again or will he be at home for Christmas?
GrannyKate, shame about not dealing with the frogs but very well done on tackling your biggest frog & buying a car 🥳 It sounds like the last rescue hen had a very good life 😊 Good luck to DGS1 with his garden plans 🍀 Fingers crossed that the curtains are hung today 🤞
Florenceem, sounds like MrF is definitely on the mend with another solo trip 😊 Well done on treating yourself to a new sewing machine 👏 Good luck with your planned decluttering in your craft room 🍀
Sleep tight 😴

Foofoo, absolute epic mission completed. Gives me hope about my bi monthly pointless communication with my Mothers bank. We are now at the point where they write letters to her at her new address to say they cannot change her address!
Happy Birthday Siebrie. xx
Granny kate, your new car will be great. We are on our 8th Hybrid and they are very economical, we wouldn't go back to all fuel now.
Weenancy, I have asked my Mum about the snow flake/ star pattern. She will have a look but has possibly got rid of it.
All I did yesterday is knit, nearly back up to the neck on the back...again. I have been resting. I feel like I over did it on Thursday, a lot of walking and I think yoga was quite intense. One of my New year resolutions is to try to get an appointment with someone about my knee.
Right I need to knock festive spots off before our bun fight.

Hi all, reasonable day yesterday, bathroom bin, lr bin, kitchen bin and bedroom bin emptied, a cardboard box broken down and into the recycling and an accidental decluttering of one of the new champagne flutes. The last was nothing to do with me, got home from the footy and OH informed me it had been knocked over. The implication was that it was somehow my fault and I refrained from pointing out that this is what happens when things are left on the worktop for days and this is exactly why I have asked that it be kept clear of stuff. The broken glass was left on the worktop so I asked if OH was planning on trying to repair it, the stem was broken, no, so I just put it out in the recycling bin
. The discussion will be had today
.
I was quite tired so didn't do anything after I had eaten. I made a mental note of a few things I want to do today but I am going to have a slow start with a cuppa first. The fridge was on my list but I noticed the prep of what looks like more batch cooking in there so I think OH will be in the kitchen at some point today so it will have to wait until after that has happened. Tomorrow we are meeting friends for lunch but will pop in to see the niece and baby so will be dropping off some of the cooked food, OH has already batch cooked some scouse.
@Brie good luck with the ebay sales
@Foofoopuppy I can see how that t rex happened but the inefficiency of the gas company is a bit strange but well done on finally sorting it outouch to the bill though.
@Siebrie belated happy birthday 🎂 💐
@GrannyKate I think hybrid is the way to go until they have sorted out the infrastructure for charging EVs. Where I live we have 1 charger on a lamp post, on street parking unless you have a very small car and totally remove your front garden wall etc so I can see a situation developing where people have charging leads strewn across the pavement.
@Florenceem a new sewing machine
Right off for another cuppa
