Yay carpet is down and son-in-law has fitted my tv and freeview box up, My new chair came yesterday also a bookcase and its looking really good.DD will move my drop leaf table in at the weekend as I use it for jigsaws. We also put lots of sparkly lights round the room and a small lit Christmas tree and its looking really good The chair is fantastic and with my two cracked ribs and pulled muscle
I was really comfortable sitting watching tv last night Celebrity Escape to the Country was Linford Christie looking at houses between £1 and £2 million, beautiful properties and lovely settings but practical me just thought of all the cleaning and gardening you'd have to do with several acres plus god know how much the council tax is ,but then if you have that sort of cash I suppose its not a problem
I'd worry about being burgled as well.. I'm more than happy in our semi in Ryde. I don't envy anyone with houses like that good luck to them, but I like neighbours and a community and sitting in umpteen acres would not be for me But he has 8 children most grown up yet they mostly seem to live with him so he would need a bigger place I guess
Dentist today and my super son-in-law has been my chauffeur the past few days as its too painful to drive but the painkillers the Dr gave me seem to be kicking in at least and I had a better night last night.
Not long until Christmas and all four of the boys are driving down in the 22nd together so we will have a houseful for at least a week.
I have a good deal of stuff to sort out in my bedroom now the sitting room is done and so there will be a few visits to the CS I expect plus at least one tip run with my old recliner chair.
Onwards and upwards chums

WeenancyinAmerica wow! Ur sister is my new hero - 23 trees !!! I used to think 3 full size trees in a little 2 bedroom bungalow was good going 👍 😆 now we just have 1 full size, 2 4 foot ones as proper 🌲 as we've decluttered the rest xxxx

Fantastic that you are in your new sitting room at last JackieO! Broken ribs are so painful and it makes you realise how much we use them unfortunately. I hope your new chair helps you to get plenty of rest.On the subject of chairs, I thought your Christmas chair was lovely @Vulpix.I had a terrible night of not sleeping and did lots of catching up on threads. Of course, I can hardly remember anything now!
@Brie - it’s a difficult time and I hope everything starts to move along smoothly. You do sound well organised.@QueenJess - I hope your DD gets through chicken pox quickly and that you get back to being able to sleep.Driven by all the movers amongst you I ended up trawling through houses for sale in the early hours. How hard it is to find the right place! Good luck to anyone thinking of moving and a huge pat on the back for those who have achieved it this year.I am still doing my advent cleaning and clearing. Not as fast as I would like as my energy is feeble at the moment. I washed the downstairs carpets last week and was frankly shocked at the dirty water in the tank as the carpet didn’t look bad. It’s good to know that has now gone though! This week has been the bathroom and kitchen which are almost finished with the deep cleaning. I can get rid of some of the things from the bathroom cupboard that I thought I might use, but I haven’t. They are very old already so no good for passing on. I have things on open shelves which I would like to get into the cupboard and protect from dust. In the kitchen, I placed a little basket (repurposed from home) to corral all the vitamins and supplements we now seem to need. I have sorted out some dishes to go to the CS.Having bought the Christmas goodies I reordered the food storage cupboard so that they are fitted in and are easy to access. I found some leftover from last year in the sort out! Obviously we are eating them now 😁 There were a few packets that I have placed at the front and will use this week. I also topped up my jars of pulses which got rid of some more packets. It is very satisfying to get everything tidy and stored away. I have been using up from the fridge and freezer and not refilled so we should have room for the Christmas food.We decorated the tree at the weekend and I have a bag of extra decorations for the CS. Also some clothing and bed linens for the clothing bank. Hopefully it won’t be overflowing already!15 -

Just a quick post as not much to add. I went to collect my altered curtains - just over £100 but well worth it as they cost a lot more than that and will fit into lounge and small bedroom. I had a quote for the windows to be replaced - bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen and then later the three front windows which are actually in better condition. It was less than I expected and he comes well recommended. I always try to use small local firms. The haberdashery shop where the curtains were shortened has expanded into next door and has a lovely showroom - a must for any crafters visiting Brigg area. I understand, however, that buying craft supplies and using them are two different hobbies. (quote from FB)
1723 Decluttered money for curtains - old ones will go to CS - dil is coming to help me change them over at weekend
1724 Last of decluttered conifer tree taken away in brown bin - I wasn't sure if they would collect garden waste today but they have done.
1725 Letters written and included in last of Christmas cards which I posted
I did go and sit in a couple of cars but I hate buying cars. A few more frogs have emerged which I will get done today along with an audit of where I am with Christmas gifts before shopping with DS2 tomorrow.

Hi all, reasonable day yesterday. I think it was serendipity that the cs was closed as I found 2 more things to go in the bag and it was dropoed off yesterday, 9 items
. Had a meet up with ex colleagues for tea and 6 gifts delivered as well as a pair of sandals that were a birthday gift but not right so never worn were passed on
. Lovely time and as usual sat quite late putting the world to rights
. When I got home I made a start on the pink baby blanket I have been asked to make and I intend to do a bit each day, even if only 1 row so I don't end up rushing to get it finished. I have surveyed my yarn stash, mostly from cs finds which are a bit random but some picked up with projects in mind. I had planned to use some for Christmas presents but it hasn't happened but I think I will make a start on them for next Christmas
I will not even look for any more yarn until I have done that
. That's the plan anyway
@GrannyKate I am sure it won't be long until you get to know a few more neighbours as they seem a friendly lot
@Vulpix feel your pain re the jumper, I hate it when I do something like that. Hope Mr V d's appointment went well and you enjoyed Chester. I had already made plans for yesterday so will have to get my act together for next year. Love the photo
@Siebrie good to hear
@Happy_Kitties good to see you, hope the lurgy clears soon but this one does seem to be hanging around for ages, hugs
@weenancyinAmerica wow your sister goes the whole nine yards with her decorating, hope you have a lovely timeand hope the lurgy clears soon hugs
@Mrs SD glad I am not the only one with packages arriving almost daily, stuff ordered by OH. I now have 6 Champaign flutes sitting on the kitchen worktop, don't ask me why, we have loads of glasses and absolutely nowhere to put them
@London_1, yayyour new sitting room and chair sound perfect
Today I am out for tea again, tomorrow I have footy and we are out for lunch on Monday. Sunday I think I will be sleeping. I can't take the pace like I used to
Ok off to do some more wrapping
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1853 - 1861 items to cs
1862 - 1867 gifts delivered
1868 sandals
Take care everyone

I know what you mean about owning a big house. I much prefer our little. almost 2 up, 2 down to bigger houses we have had. I do miss a bay window though, perfect for a Christmas tree.
Weenancy, I would love to go to your sisters open house. I think the USA has taken Christmas and supersized it. In our biggest house I had 6 trees. I loved everything about putting them up, not so much with the packing them all away. I have 2 trees this year which were both given to me. One in the sitting room window and one in the kitchen. The snowflakes, my Mum made for me years ago. I will ask if she still has the pattern but I expect she has decluttered it. I bet if you asked at your crochet class someone would be able to produce a pattern. Do you do pinterest? Now there's a way to loose hours at a time.
London 1, enjoy your new sitting room. I have had broken ribs. Mine tell the weather forecast for me these days!
Chester was lovely, the winter watch parade seemed depleted compared to previous years. We had a lovely curry and half a bag of lebkuchen on the way home, that's Vuipixes 5 Lebkuchen 0
Mr V has been discharged form The Christie hospital. He has retained 95% kidney function.
Knitting and crochet lessons this afternoon.
The big Mr V's side of the family bun fight to prepare for on Sunday. I do love hosting a party.
take care all Vx:17 -

Good morning my fellow declutterati 🙂 It rained in the early hours as the the paths & road are wet. Very dark still at 10:35. Straight into cheerleading:
London_1, sorry to hear that your fall has turned out to be more serious & painful than you thought 😔 but Yippee for such great medical attention - the NHS at it’s finest 👏 Now we all just need you to rest & if you are going to do anything please restrict yourself to doing tasks that do Not involve going up & down stairs 🙏🙏 Good news that the carpet has been laid & that most of the final building jobs have been done 👏 Hopefully you had a good night’s sleep on Tuesday 🤞
weenancy, sorry to hear you still have bruises 😔
Excellent work on the unpacking GrannyKate 👏 All that forward planning & careful packing has certainly paid dividends 🤩 Thanks for all the great advice about moving - so many useful tips 👏 A medal 🏅 is on it’s way. Also very impressed at how MSE you have been when it came to mail redirection 🥳 I take it that you & DS2 are now living fairly close to each other so definitely makes sense to just have the one address for redirection 🙂 Hopefully you are now settled enough to have a lovely Christmas in your new home 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, your quietish Tuesday sounds rather busy to me 🤞Like you I need to source Christmas cards for 2025 as I am down to just 21 cards - although most of those may get used as I am still debating writing cards to my neighbours 🤨 More great decluttering 👏 & hopefully Santa will bring you a new fountain pen 😉
I haven’t caught up much but my first cuppa is drunk so will post this, make a 2nd cuppa & then resume cheerleading 😉

I now have my 2nd cuppa & DH is finally up 😉 Just received a surprise Christmas card from the owners of next doors rental house 🙂 It did take a moment or three to recognise the names especially as they never lived there 😅 I also received a surprise package which has absolutely made my day ☺️although there will be no further information forthcoming 🤐 Back to the cheerleading:
vulpix, a long time to have the same hairdresser 🤩 just wish my DSis could find one that hangs around for more than 6 months 😉 Very pleased to hear that your house is not empty 😅 although it does sound like the cupboards might still be a little full 😉 🙃
Siebrie, some good news from the Belgian government - for a change 😅 You have been so busy that I am not surprised you were unaware of this “Now I have to collect all the invoices that were related to school trips from both dds for the last 2 years, as - apparently - I can get partial reimbursement from our health care insurance. Why didn't I know about this earlier?” Just hoping that it can be backdated 🤞
You are very welcome regnbue 😊 More excellent decluttering 👏 & great work with your fleabay sales 🤩 Shame about the ‘bells’ but hopefully someone will love them & if they are not too Christmassy it could be that they are on display all year 🤞
QueenJess, so sorry to hear that your poor DD now has chickenpox 😢 I am keeping absolutely everything including my eyes crossed that no one else catches it & that she is fully recovered by Christmas week 🤞🤞🤞 Is there any way MrQJ can pitch in & help as you sound so exhausted that I am concerned you will fall ill 🤒 I do think your DD is 100% correct “ice cream does make everything better” ☺️
Well said Floss 👏
TC77, this “I was reading along last night on the way home and so engrossed I missed my bus stop,……….” made me smile 😀 I hope you didn’t have too far to walk 🤞Shame about the glass bowl but what a lovely attitude to have 😊 Please, please make sure you are Always wearing something on your feet when you are in the hall as glass shards have a habit of appearing no matter how well you have cleared up 🙏 Remember every item decluttered is a win - no matter how it comes about 👏
Another page caught up 🥳 DH has just headed off to the barber & I cheekily suggested he drop off DSis’s ood/not required meds on the way (as I know that DSis will forget) 😉 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & that our poorly/injured declutterati are making full use of the TLC Carriage 🙏 Back later 👋

Hi everyone.
I can't remember if I posted it, but I had a bag of assorted art supplies go out last Wednesday.
Last Friday I had 3 books go out.
Sunday I managed to remember to take the present for the tai chi secret santa.
I've some permanent marker pens to go out Sunday.
Today I've had 2 Christmas presents do out, a pack of pens, 2 notebooks, 2 puzzle books and left a book for anyone who wanted it where I volunteer.
I really need to have a good tidy in the kitchen and the living room.
Especially a couple of the kitchen worktops as they are covered in stuff.Decluttering campaign 2023
