Hi all, quietish day yesterday, 2 LDFPA, car brakes sorted, all cards written and after walking home from the garage and back to collect the car my feet were not happy so a session of self care. I am going to the post office again today as I have 2 parcels to post and although I have stamps I think I need to get the cards checked for size as some may need a large stamp. I have nearly emptied my Christmas card box and I think I am at the stage where I will need to have a hunt in the post Christmas sales to replenish the stock or it will cost a fortune next year
While writing the cards my fountain pen decided to misbehave and I have ink stains all over my hand. I have tried lemon juice, toothpaste and hand wash designed for car mechanics and although it has faded it is still visible so any tips for that will be gratefully received. Luckily I avoided getting it on my clothes
@Brie that's helpful of the govt when there is a postal strike. I just remember when I was dealing with everything after my Dad and then my Mum died everyone needed a certified copy of the death certificate, insurance, bank etc so I hope this doesn't cause you any problems, hugs.
@Florenceem glad to hear Mr F has improved enough to go out
@SuperLooperSaver yay to finding a house you love. More carpet in bathrooms
@London_1 that sounds very nasty, glad you have such good health care available, very gentle hugs.
Right off to the shower
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1845 + 1846 LDFPA
1847 car sorted
1848 self care
Take care everyone

Hi,
Getting my haircut today, I have been with the same person for about 35 years. she used to have a little salon but is now mobile. She put her prices up due covid PPE, still a bargain at £10. Not much I can do with my hair, so always the same style. I have gone very grey this year. I don't recognise myself when I look in the mirror.
Pleased to hear Mr F is better enough to argue about going out! R&R is what you need London 1.
I hope you are plodding on ok Brie, I think it was LiverpoolAnne who said, even when it's expected it's still hard, xxx
To go today, some Christmas crackers and a small thermos flask. It amazes me how I can still find things to go. The house doesn't look empty yet!
take care all Vx:16 -
The Belgian government has just agreed to continue not-taxing the people who charge their cars at home from the normal network. We currently get reimbursed the highest going tariff, and that will continue for at least another year. This is good news, as we are on the lowest tariff I could find, so we will make a small profit.Donation pile: sweatsuit from dd2, 3 pairs of socks from dd2 (they have a weaved-in motif). Some paperwork has been processed and thrown out; I found a school invoice from last year I hurriedly paid! Now I have to collect all the invoices that were related to school trips from both dds for the last 2 years, as - apparently - I can get partial reimbursement from our health care insurance. Wednesday is a dull & cloudy day & quite windy which makes it feel colder than 6°C. I was up slightly later today (10:45) but have a load in the wm, a new bin bag in the wheelie bin & have moved a few more bits from the garage freezer to the kitchen freezer.
Liverpool_Anne, that was one doozy of a nightmare 😱 I assume I am correct in saying that in your nightmare the ‘burglars’ left the pile of washing but took the washing machine - sorreeeeee 🙃 I do hope that you are feeling better now & that your back is fully recovered 🙏 especially as you have been so busy 👏 Great work with the presents 👏 such a great idea to deliver them early 🤩 so a medal 🏅 is on its way 😊 Very kind of you to spend money at the Christmas Fayre ☺️ such a shame that the weather was so awful 😞 Good luck with your decluttering 🍀
GrannyKate sounds like you are settling in very nicely & getting organised 👏 I am very impressed with all your planning 😊 Hope you managed to tackle your frogs aka Admin Alligators 🤞 Keeping everything crossed that the roofer turns up this week & that the work is completed before Christmas 🤞 Thanks for the great advice about numbering & listing when packing to move 👏 Just a shame that we didn’t do that when DSis sold the French house 😉 We still have boxes & boxes of ‘stuff’ in the loft & the room of doom to sort out ☹️
Duchess2, yes all fine just have a touch of ‘lazyitis’ 😉 Sounds like you had a lovely & relaxing weekend ☺️What a brilliant idea to keep your heating costs down & very MSE 👏
vulpix, fingers crossed that your heavy duty cold is on its way out 🤞 Lovely cheerleading 😊 Aah, what a lovely man MrV is 🥹 & I loved this about the slow cookers “Just told Mr V what you were doing and he said if your doing that you might as well have a stew in it!” As to the decision not to send Christmas cards, not harsh at all 🙂 I will still be sending cards but do need to get a move on otherwise they won’t arrive until next Christmas 😂
Siebrie, so pleased to hear that St Nicholas celebrations went smoothly 😊 Hopefully you can find the ‘spending overview’ but if not, I hope you can recreate it & start a plan for 2025 🤞Good luck 🍀That team building event sounds wonderful - something for everyone 🤩 Good luck to your DDs in their upcoming exams 🍀
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear that you were feeling so tired on Monday 😔 although I see that you still managed to get a lot done 👏 Hopefully you have managed to get a couple of good sleeps 🤞Remember to pop into the TLC Carriage - after all that is what it is there for + various members of our Declutterati family are stocking it with various treats ☺️
2nd load of washing done & now the td is on. I am finding it hard to concentrate so will post this, revive myself with some lunch & come back in a little while. I do hope everyone is managing to stay warm & dry.

@Liverpool_Anne - White spirits (rubbing alcohol here) is what I use to get pen stains out of the bedding and off of my hands. It might help.14

Hello peeps
Mrs_SD thank you for my gold star and medal.
Amongst my xmas decs is a pair of large red metal bells purchased in a posh London store approx 30 years ago but I can only remember hanging them up twice at my parents' house. I found them again last week but thought it was too late to take them to the cs but don't really have anything here to hook them onto.
I decided to go for my walk then pick the bells and other things up destined for the cs afterwards and take them into town. As I locked the front door to take my walk I realised I was already holding the cs bag so took them in first. The only slight pang of regret I had about the bells is not using them more often at Christmas over the years. Hopefully now someone else will make more use of them.
My main activities since last posting have been more fleabaying and also going thru boxes sorting paperwork.
Decluttered:
Broken small bowl
uud box of matches
draught excluder
14 more items sold on fleabay
uud cleaning product
fancy bowl to cs
promotional soft toy from years ago (still boxed) given to friend
soft plastics to sm
resistance band "melted" and stuck to an unboxed cd
damaged cd
uud old hair dye (one more to go)
uud 4 tealights (100+ to go)
xmas cards
darning
50+ pieces of paper (counting as 5)
5 bits and bobs
xmas bells decoration
Keep going everybody.

Just a quick check in as after a few days back at nursery, DD is ill again, this time with chickenpox. She is so sad, but equally really good and isn't scratching at all (although it's driving her crazy). I'm back onto 24 hour nursing days and am walking around like a zombie and can't think straight. I did make a big batch of vanilla ice cream today (and bread as we had run out), as ice cream makes everything better in DD's world.Digital:

It might have taken a while to come back but I have now written, addressed & stamped the Christmas cards ready for posting 🥳 I have also sorted out the cards for hand delivery although they are not yet written. DH & I had a bowl each of his latest hm soup 😋 DSis has spent the last 30 mins sorting her meds & has now retired to her room. DH has spent the afternoon in his office. One load of washing dried, folded & put away.
Brie, so very sorry to hear about your mum 😢 Sorry I am so late in wrapping you up & bundling you into the TLC Carriage but better late than never 😉 You are allowed to take your phone to make any calls you need to make 😊 Such a shame that the Canadian Postal Service is on strike especially as you & DB1 are so well organised 😔
florianatwobob, that sounds absolutely wonderful & very clever 🤩
Not much cheerleading as I noticed the time so broke off to cook dinner. Chicken pieces fried in butter, boiled potatoes & garden peas 😋 Back later 👋
P.S. I have just realised that I have passed the 3/4 mark on my 2nd target, so am awarding myself a Gold Star ⭐️

I was reading along last night on the way home and so engrossed I missed my bus stop, and of course can't recall who wrote what.
In a moment of zeal I was clearing the hall, flung a coat I don't wear much over my shoulder to take upstairs and knocked my favourite glass bowl of the shelves...... then had to clear up the zillion pieces, but rather than get upset, thought how lucky I still have a selection and a reminder its ok to have abit more than you strictly need.
A large serving bowl added to CS bag and this was dropped off, and cards posted and ood food out, and some paper declutter. I was going to add some dessert glasses but offered to DDs and DD2 said may be interested so keeping for the time being. There was another item in the CS bag but I can't recall what.
1806 inching my way along!
