Sales on V of £31.50 yesterday.
The weather here today has been wind and rain. Very dull light to take photos for listing on V.
I had offers of £15 and £18 for a pair of Clar.. hiking boots which I priced at £24 - a very fair sum. I got the £24. Then I had an item wrapped up to send and the buyer changed their mind - it was obviously meant to be as I was letting her have it for £2 less than the asking price and resold for the full amount.
I popped into town in a break from the rain. The town was dead for a Saturday near to Christmas but our shops struggle against the out of town shopping centre.
I have started to move stuff into the garage to give me space in my craft room to make some cushions.
Still feel poorly but I had to go out shopping as Mr F is in no state to do it.

Hubby and I have now decluttered 2010 items so far this year, out of a target of 2024, so just a few left to find.
The trouble is that we have also brought a lot of stuff into the house - I know, because I have listed it all, but not counted up how much!I think I’ll have to start a one-in two-out policy in 2025 to try and make up for all this recluttering! Does anyone else have trouble with this?16 -
@tiddles I used to be a great wombler and bring things in but stopped this year and it's made a big difference.
Felt under the weather due I think to flu jab yesterday pm so better now but taking it easy ( any excuse).
Old membership card out , 3 lots of ood food, cleaned fridge v well with toothbrush to get in corners and threw out one shelf but that is damaged. Will get a new fridge when I finally move !
Cleaning including descaling kettle and some filing and decluttering and hoovering. Large bowl in cs bag, along with costume jewellery, a few frogs done, formal complaint about energy legsl.claim for dd1 when they refused to engage and then dipped out the realised no case.
Dd2 back in a week and invited friends round in 2 weeks. Taking things out of main living area which are unneeded at least for now ( and many probably never) and put in room of doom.
Unpacked 3 boxes from my dad's and mainly on bookshelves to be sorted in the new year.
Counting the dirt, scale etc as decluttering and some paper out while filing so 11.
Sold an item but will count when packed and out.17 -
Tiddles what is it you are bringing in ? If you identify this it might help.
Do you throw out a jumper then buy another jumper? So are either needing the things you've previously got rid of, or are 'psychologically needing' them so keep replacing even though you don't actually need it.
Or are you throwing out one type of thing, say you had a painting hobby but hadn't done it for years so got rid of it all but now realise you've replaced that with a card making hobby that needs a lot of stuff and equipment.

Good morning people,
I trust we have all fared ok with the storm. It is gradually calming down here. We should be back to just windy by lunchtime. Living next to a wood, the noise was deafening last night.
I have nothing much to report as I have been staying home to avoid the crowds in shops. I did go to the Christmas tree festival and craft fair yesterday afternoon. Wasn't tempted to buy anything. I called in at the charity shop on my way home and bought 10 Christmas baubles for £1. I found that I had de cluttered so many Christmas decorations that I needed a few more.
Tiddles, is that what has happened to you? De cluttered things that you later need? This is the first time this has happened to me after about 10 years of de cluttering. There are a couple of things that I wish I had kept because I really liked them but not many considering all that has gone. in general I do one in one out. Some things I replace new like underwear and socks and slippers, otherwise this year I have tried to buy much, much less and second hand where I can. Like TC I am also trying to not bring other peoples cast offs home. Can't help myself sometimes. I will post a pic of one of the cast offs, the Christmas chair with Fomo's arch enemy, Christmas robin on it. I will be giving it away to my favourite charity shop next week. I have put a butlers tray with a little Christmas tree on it where the chair was in the kitchen.
Christmas gifts are wrapped, most food bought, we are ready for the festive season. We have a very modest Christmas both festive fayre and gifts.Mr V and i are not exchanging gifts but we are going to Amsterdam in a weeks time. This is Mr V's very busy month. 3 jobs today alone. It won't change when he retires these are his 3 favourite jobs. It's just the 3 am and 4 am finish jobs he is retiring from.
Knitting lessons went well, we shall continue with knit and natter. I heard more gossip than in the previous 3 years! I have finally finished a Christmas blanket and will finish my sewing today. I have already started knitting a jumper for my son. It is a thing with crafters,we like starting new things before the previous thing is finished! My son had been to a craft fair at work and phoned to tell me of a poseable worm. I have half made one as a surprise with French knitting. I am going to put pipe cleaners and stuffing in it. I also want to make a Christmas tree skirt this week. How many have I made and sent to the charity shop in previous years?????? I have the pre owned red crushed velvet fabric from a cushion cover where I used the cushion to make something for DD1. waste not want not.
Best wishes to all Vx

I decluttered my house so vigorously for about 2 years. That curbed me of my desire to bring lots of things in as I distinctly remember how long and how much effort it took to get rid of all the stuff in the first place! I now try to consider if I really want and will use something. If I can’t do that or cannot imagine where it will go then I walk away.
I have to say it’s a bit harder to do from Buy Nothing when things are free.2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Thank you for your replies. When I buy items, such as clothes, I am often just buying things I like the look of, or which seem to be a good bargain, even though I already have many of the same item at home; underwear and socks, for example. I also buy trainers quite often, as I have slight foot problems yet enjoy walking, so I am always searching for the ultimate comfortable pair. I don’t like getting rid of clothes that I know are of good quality, when I might just wear them again. I also tend to buy when we are about to go on holiday.
I think the solution for me is to try not to buy any clothes at all, although I think comfortable shoes will be allowed.
Our home is quite cluttered with all sorts of things - we have another family member living with us, so also have to find homes for all their stuff. My husband is a hoarder of hobby items and keeps buying more. He knows we should declutter, and he does a bit, but I think I just have to accept that he enjoys his hobby, and at least it is mostly confined to one room!
So the real solution is not to buy anything unless it is a necessity, and keep trying to declutter in the meantime!16 -
Make a list- jeans, trousers, jumpers, shirts, going out tops, holiday trousers, holiday dresses or whatever category makes sense to you. When you are tempted by something in a shop, check your list. If new item is not significantly better than what you already own then you will be happy you don't need it. Similarly a bargain is no bargain if you don't need it!
Maybe rather than trying to resist temptation (which is hard) when you are in shops.....turn that idea around and limit the times and the time that you are in shops. That immediately removes the temptation.
Same idea holds if its online shopping you do- unsubscrbe, stop searching online shops etc.
Maybe start saving for something and instead of buying, put the money away if that technique would motivate you.
As regards oh hobbies, maybe he could sort and categorise his hobbies and make a proper list of things he actually needs? Nothing like seeing you have 8 of something to realise you don't need any more yet.
Just suggesting in case it helps.
Hugs all round 🤗

Thank you Daisy! I’m going to try really hard to reduce and organise my belongings now, and try not to buy anything new unless really necessary! 🙂🙂17

Good plan tiddles . When I do one in one out it’s stuff we need like replacing the broken tin opener. Clothing is my Achilles heel. I yo yo with my weight so do have some things that don’t currently fit. Honestly I really don’t need to buy any clothes at all no matter how much of a bargain they are at the charity shop. I need to drop off only and not look round!
I sewed until I started to get a blister then moved on to make the worm. I am thinking of making him a party hat from a scrap of felt. Now I am knitting the jumper.Coffee break just now.Vx:17
