Brie - sorry to hear about your mum.
This is the time of year when people get rid of toys - ready for new ones and clothing/shoes. Not surprised that charity shops are overwhelmed - I am at SA. More toys had come in when I popped in SA today. If it is dry tomorrow - I will put them outside on a table for people to take. There is a school down the road so lots of passing children.
I do have a cold - hope Mr F doesn't get it.
Today I emptied my shopping trolley - stuff I had brought home from SA for V.
Filled my trolley with parcels and went into town.
I wanted to get Mr F some cheese but none in the community shop when I went past.
I popped into SA - the recycling bins have been emptied.
The Ukrainians were decorating the hall for Saturday's St Nicholas party.
I did ironing for V and took photos.
We had a taxi to and from the surgery - Mr F has more antibiotics and an appointment booked for next week if he needs it.
I popped in SA on the way to collect Mr F's new medication.
Mr F has tension bands now to exercise his leg to reduce fluid and swelling.
I have been listing on V.

Well done Mehefin,on all counts.
Nanny, we had exactly the same with MIL for about 6 years. Very, very difficult and draining. I actually think she had some kind of cognitive decline but she sailed through every assessment as she could put on a good show. My sympathies. X

Daisy - fortunately I am in the southern part of the state. Thank you for thinking of me. We always have to be prepared for earthquakes around here. Usually they are fairly small. We have had a couple of 4.0 we have felt in the last month.
Went to a Christmas program this morning with Diane's chime choir. The chimes are made of pipes with thumpers attached. It sounded pretty good. It is a class through our local college extension program. You can stay in it as long as you want though - one lady has been in the choir for 25 years. I am taking my Knitting and Crocheting class again - hoping I can get to the point where I can make my own sweater. Making crocheted bags for two people as part of their Christmas presents. Di and I also signed up for computer classes again. I am taking Intermediate Word and Excel. The classes are free and come with free Microsoft programs. We can even check out a free laptop. Probably will so we can both be working on our homework at the same time.
Still trying to move things around in the living room so we can get the bookcases in and fill them up with books. The books of course are already here - but Di said she would get rid of a lot of them too. Since she has duplicates of some (especially Agatha Christie and other mysteries), I will hope that we can do just that.
Finished almost all of our Christmas shopping today after the Christmas program. Just need to check on what the niece recommends for her three children, besides what we already have. They all have birthdays this month as well.
We have been having great weather - it actually smelled like fall weather yesterday, but it will be 24C for the next few days so it doesn't feel like it. But we are getting really thick fog in the morning. No rain predicted in the next couple of weeks though and we really need it.
Hugs for all that need it.16 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday: Managed a couple more hours sleep waking up again at 10:00 🙂 Recycling wheelie bin was not emptied 😔 Spent the rest of the morning drinking tea, knitting & watching TV. It has rained on & off all day - currently raining (17:15) I prepped & weighed out ingredients for tonight’s dinner which will be fish pie. DH & I had a bowl of hm soup for lunch - very wholesome but a bit uninspiring. I have been up & down like a yo-yo taking in packages nearly all of which were for my DSis 😉 DH popped out on the bike to post an important letter & managed to avoid the rain 🙂 The fish pie was delicious 😋 & even DSis enjoyed it even though she is not a great lover of fish 👏 Wudupa.

Off to bed now, so will do the cheerleading tomorrow. Sleep tight 😴

Good morning chums, very wet here on the IoW, my son-in-law and I cleared all the pile of empty boxes to the tip yesterday before the rain got too heavy thank goodness.
Came home and started wrapping bits.My grandson Jack is coming down for the weekend tonight. I hope his crossing is OK as the forecast isn't great, and its only the second time he's been down with his car (newly qualified driver )
He will take back my eldest DD and families Christmas presents, also my granddaughter and families presents. plus cards to deliver Postage charges are absurd and he is happy to wear his Santa hat for deliveries
He will collect ones for down here for Christmas so he is our postal service :)as he is coming down for Christmas.
Had a mishap last night ,came downstairs for dinner, and three steps from the bottom my good leg decided not to work, and I sailed down the last three and landed in a heap at the bottom. Fall was OK, but the landing was not.
Not only very undignified, it blooming well hurt I have a spectacular bruised knee, and a pulled muscle in my back so I'm not very mobile this morning. Walking isn't too bad but getting up and down from a sitting position is darned painful. Still at least nothing was broken, although DD and son-in-law wanted to get me checked out in the local hospital I said 'No its ok nothing broken and I'll just be taking up space for really poorly folk.'
They would only give me painkillers which I have at home anyway, hospitals are for ill folk I'm just a bit bruised and battered and a few days and all will be well again.
But also I hate fuss, and I'd rather stay at home in the warm ,far too chilly and wet to be traipsing to hospitals.
I hope everyone is safe and warm, looking out of my bedroom window its looking really horribly wet and windy so a couple of days indoors won't hurt and I've got plenty to do.
Hopefully the builder will finish today or tomorrow and my carpet gets laid next Monday so my sitting room will be ready for my bits and pieces to go in, a new recliner chair and my TV, bookcase and table etc. I'm looking forward to it
I get on very well with my DD and son-in-law but also I want space to get my things around me and get all my boxes unpacked so my bedroom will look less like a furniture depository and more like a bedroom.
Right, time for another cuppa I think , have a good day chums, another week has whizzed by

@London_1 - sending you the healing vibes for feeling better soon. It’s such bad luck falling like that and it happens so easily and quickly. It will be lovely when you can get your own space set up to retreat to and have your things around you.@Brie - thinking of you. It’s very difficult when everything is happening at such a great distance. I hope it is all peaceful for your mom.@nannywindow - a difficult situation with your father but you can only do so much when taking into account your own health. I remember all this with PILs when reason and logic didn’t seem to have any effect.Sorry not to mention all but I have had a big catch up read this morning. We have been writing our Christmas cards from the various ones that I have rounded up through the decluttering process. I am being very mindful with regard to buying presents and going for consumables, specific requests and subscriptions/memberships. None of us want piles of presents but we all like something to open. All wrapping will be reusable.Decluttering has involved some mini stollen, mince pies and lebkuchen but frankly whatever it takes to keep cheerful through the dark months is fine by me.I am a changed woman and keep weeding things out of cupboards and drawers instead of wanting to hang onto everything. Definitely an element of decluttering my resistant old self. Thanks to everyone on this thread for the inspiration and the encouragement. Especially you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger 🙏 I am so appreciative of all your cheerleading and dedication to your thread.13

Another busy day today cooking and finally getting to the end of the washing. I did look at the pile of books DD wanted to get rid of, but it came to £4.97 and the minimum is £5 in the app. It's very annoying, so the books are currently pending in a box in the cupboard. I also rearranged 1/3 of the baking cupboard, so 2/3 to go.A few more bits gone:Physical:

Hi,
Pleased to hear everything is ok for you weenancy. I experienced a little quake when I lived in SanDiego. Unusually there was one here years ago, I half woke up to what seemed like someone shaking the bed and the curtains moving, I thought it was a draught from the open window. It was only when I got to work and everyone was talking about it I knew what it was!
I hope you are on the mend now Mrs SD. You too London 1, it's a shock to have a fall.
Moorviews, decluttering is definitely addictive. I can find things almost daily without going looking for them.
Mr V has gone to work. Good. There was a massive storm last night and now mud all over the flags outside. Mr V has been out in his slippers and then walked mud up the stairs, round the bedroom and back down the stairs again! We have quite light carpets. Grrrr. Fomo has also helped by jumping on our bed's white sheet with muddy paws. Our bin monitor is currently cleaning everyone's yard with her new hosepipe. Thank you, bin monitor, you are a star.
I would like to get a bit of sewing done before knitting class at 2pm. Chuffin carpet cleaning first.
Oh, lebkuchen 0 Vulpixes 4
