Friday: Managed 2 x 3 hour sleeps 🙂 Currently dry & chilly with a temperature of 6°C. I have my first cuppa & am settling down to catch up with the cheerleading starting with Wednesday’s posts
London_1, sorry to hear about your DD’s streaming cold 😔 but what a lovely boss to give her a hug & send her home 😊 Fingers crossed that ‘this cold’ has left your house by the weekend 🤞Good news about your friend’s operation 🙂although I am not impressed by the extra stress she is being put under worrying about the poor care her DH is receiving 😔 Sending a plea to the cosmos that her daughter steps up & comes over to help for a few weeks 🙏
Florenceem another couple of very busy days at SA 👏 but please, please try to take some rest 🙏 So sorry to hear about your DDiL’s father & FiL 😢 As to the awful person who stole the helper’s phone, I do hope C has managed to get it returned 🤞Sending you & MrF lots of cwtches 🤗 & a sincere wish that MrF is on the mend ❤️🩹
Brie, so sorry to hear about your mum 😔 My thoughts are with you.
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 you are definitely on a roll 🥳
vulpix, now that is what I call serendipity 😊 This “It makes me think that we have far too many mugs, I will drop at least 2 that I can think of……..” struck me as a bit drastic as I completely missed the “at the charity shop.” 😂 Making a ‘pom pom garland’ sounds far more exciting than sewing 😉
Lovely post Duchess2 ☺️
So nice to hear from you mehefin 👋 What a wonderful thing to do donating clothing to such a worthy cause 👏 Your action in speaking to the young Afghani girls/women brought a tear to my eye 🥹 so I am sending you a virtual hug 🤗 It is such a shame that there are not more people like you in the world.
London_1, such a wonderful medical service on the IoW 👏 Fingers crossed that the SA managed to collect all the bags 🤞Such a lovely word “mizzly” immediately conveys the type of weather you described 🙂
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏
Broke off from cheerleading to deal with today’s mail & make another hot drink & make some toast.
Liverpool_Anne, shame about the very unprofessional conduct of your hairdresser ☹️ Wishing you lots of luck finding a new one 🍀 Wonderful cheerleading + some useful observations for nannywindow 😊
nannywindow, here’s hoping that your dad eventually comes round 🙏
Florenceem, another very busy day 🤩 Fingers crossed that the weather is fine today so that an outside table can be set up 🤞 Please, please try to get some rest 🙏 It sounds like MrF is gradually getting better 🙂
vulpix pleased to see that Fluffy approves of the half renovated chair 😉
weenancy, very relieved to hear that you are safe 😮💨 There are some wonderful facilities/programmes & so marvellous that so many people take advantage of them 😊 Keeping everything crossed that Di starts offloading her excess books soon 🤞 Presumably if there are fewer books it will be easier to move furniture around & get the bookcase set up 🙏 Hopefully the weather forecasters are mistaken & you will get rain to accompany the early morning fog 🤞
More excellent decluttering London_1 👏 Fingers crossed that Jack has an uneventful journey 🤞It will be so lovely to see him before Christmas ☺️ Sorry to hear about your fall 😔 Sad to say, it is all too easy to have a fall 🙁 I understand your reluctance to go to hospital but please do go if you discover any other injuries 🙏🙏 Please have lots of rest in the TLC Carriage & try to make the most of not having to go out 😉
Lovely post Moorviews 😊 & very well done on ‘weeding things out of cupboards & drawers’ 👏 Thank you for the lovely compliment I am blushing like mad ☺️
QueenJess, such a pity about the books 🙁 Hopefully you can find one more book to take the value over £5 🤞 Great work with the laundry 👏 Hopefully DD is fully recovered now & everyone else has avoided the virus 🤞
Oops to the dirty carpets & bed linen vulpix ☹️ I do hope Fomo is on the naughty step & that MrV will be joining Fomo when he gets home 😂
QueenJess, the parsnip soup is delicious 😋
All caught up so will post & then try to cross a couple of tasks off my humongous To Do list 😉

That’s it. Busy couple of days but all Xmas cards written & posted. All presents wrapped and ready to put under the tree. Deccies going up in the morning. ☃️🎄. A bit of washing to catch up on, should be decluttered tonight & tomorrow. I have to pick up DS from his Xmas do tonight but shouldn’t be a late one and babysitting tomorrow night. Sunday “and breathe.” Sorry to hear about your mum @Brie. All the more poignant at this time of year. Hope everyone under the weather soon picks up.😮💨 Glad you’re ok @weenancyinAmerica. Hope the quake doesn't cause too many probs. Oh no @London_1 I’m sorry about your fall. Take it easy. It shakes you up more than you realise. Good job you are living with DD. Let them look after you for a bit. @vulpix that’s my pup’s speciality muddy paws. Come to think of it my DH too. 😃 Fluffy monster looks very comfy in the chair. Filled bin at old house but forgot to put it out to get emptied oops
Bought a car full of stuff to new house from the shed so now have a massive pile of carpet for tip, cardboard for tip and car full for charity shop but hubby goes back to work full time next week so no idea when it will all go as I can't drive grr
Looking forward to my new bedroom carpet on Tuesday though and putting decs up even though first Christmas here will be a sad one too15 -
London-1 Falls are awful - really shakes you up.
My friend has her phone - G had thrown it in a bin but spent the £55 that was in the phone case. Shall we say - he had been on the booze when he was arrested or he was legless?
Sales on V have been £42.50, £25 and £61.50 - the last three days.
I have been wrapping and labelling parcels then taking them to be posted.
Mr F went out for the first time (apart from Dr appts) today - he managed to go to the nearby As.. to get a local paper.
I definitely have a cold - felt rough so did a Covid test. No SA for me today - don't want to pass on my germs.
So we are both poorly now - not a good combination. Who murders who first?Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Evening all. Still only skim reading but it has been a busy week. Stayed in for call from new surgery nurse but missed the call as mobile was playing up. Sorted now but too late to contact surgery. They sent a text asking for some info which I will take in on Monday. DGD1 passed her driving test at first attempt.
1690 Plastic to SM recycling
1691 Bag of stuff to CS
1692 Wrapped all the gifts I have so far and list written. Oddments of paper and naff gift bags recycled
1693 Santa sacks to CS - they are too old for these now and prefer money (not filling a sack with that!)
1694 Drum ordered and installed in printer - old one out
1695 Truly awful final water bill paid for old address. I knew I had a serious leak due to fault in water softener which I should have tackled earlier.
1696 Lampshade taken down in room of doom and better light bulb put in. You can at least see in there now.
1697 Four more changes of address done - only a few business ones left
1698 One more box emptied
First Christmas card today - I need to get mine posted with the change of address inserts. Redirection seems to be working. Wet and windy here - I had hoped to get out in garden and shed but weather not promising for weekend. I did get washing almost dry on line today before rain started. I need to go through xmas boxes and see if I really want to keep ones I have not put out this year.
Hugs all round.2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Florenceem - I hope you feel better soon but notice that you still have your sense of humour intact 😊💐
GrannyKate - Congratulations to your DGD on passing her driving test 🎉 This move has kept you busy for the whole of the year but hopefully all will quieten down soon.Crazycatlady2 - I expect it will be very poignant this year but you are filling the family home with new memories too which is lovely.Duchess2 - you are so well organised 😊 I take my hat off to you!
I am listening to the latest storm buffeting and crashing around the house, roaring through the trees and shaking things about. I am amazed that the power was on this morning. We did try to batten down the hatches but we shall see what has flown where it shouldn’t later. My phone went mad with the government alerts, which I didn’t realise were on. Anyway we aren’t going anywhere and plan on getting the decorations and tree out of the loft, having a sort out and putting everything up this weekend. There are also cards to write and I might make the Christmas cake too. We baked a nice fresh loaf yesterday and I have vegetables in for a lentil soup for lunch. I hope everyone is okay through this stormy weekend xx13 -
GrannyKate well done to your DGD1 on passing her test first time
I think its propbably a lot harder than it was in 1962.
DGS Jack arrived last night an hour early, as he got to Southampton docks early and they put him on an earlier ferry so he was a happy boy.
I will see him this morning, as last night I was feeling decidedly poorly so took myself off to bed before 6.00 pm and was sound asleep very quickly.
DD apparently put her head round my bedroom door and said I was out for the count so left me. We have always agreed in our family if your asleep then leave you, as its you body's way of telling you you need it.
I woke around 1.00 pm, had a loo break then went right back to sleep again and woke around 7 so I must have needed it. Feel a bit better this morning but just very stiff and bruised. But every day will get better. I'm not going to do very much today at all. Certainly not going out as its lashing with rain and extremely windy. About half the Christmas presents are wrapped and labelled and Jack will take them back with him and deliver them for me to my eldest DD for the family and to my DGD and family I've even found him a Santa hat to wear whilst delivering
I can write the cards today as its an easy sitting down job.
I hope everyone is safe and well and dry as its going to be a rough weekend weatherise I think
Take care all

Hi Peeps,
Been absent a good week have a had a holiday in Tenerife in between with the temperature mid to high 20's.
@oceanspirit when going swimming how about having your costume on before you go. I used to do that when finishing my shift to save time before the pool closed of an evening.
I have been pleased with the decluttering and collection of recycled pennies. I received a lovely feedback from a buyer about a coat I sold and they said what they like about the coat and the very reason I was keeping it. It really does feel soft and very expensive. It has made me smile.
Tiny declutters and items being used up even when on holiday UU was the successes as planned. More space in the back bedroom wardrobes (soon to be kitchen sometime maybe) Items getting added to the UU list to save some more £1 per item ready for another shop when needed.
I am keeping busy in here checking how everyone is doing and leaving every now and again to do something for me. Just need to get some home cooking done this weekend with what we already have in the cupboards.
Stay safe with the winds
2 Scratters xxAnything is better than nothing-check back and see

2Scratters, thank you for the suggestion - I already do that. It’s getting it off again when wet as I have bad arthritis particularly in my hands. This week the pool was empty when we got there and when we left so we were able to take our time.
Delayed our departure for our holiday by a couple of days and hope to leave tomorrow when the weather is due to be better. It has given me the opportunity to do a bit more cleaning and tidying before we go. We are self catering so a big box of food is coming with us.I know it’s a bit early for a 2024 round up, but I won’t be doing any more major decluttering this year so here goes:-The using up of food stocks and cleaning materials has gone really well and I am starting to feel better about the situation. I have also managed to massively cut down on veg waste which I am delighted about and healthy eating has gone well on the whole. There is much less stuff generally in our home, however we have far too many books between us and the numbers keep increasing - mainly reference books as we love learning about new things. We borrow ‘easy reads’ from the library and village book exchange so they don’t hang around.
We have started on the shed and garden which are both looking better already and we have a plan so OH can do bits on his own if he wants to.
Despite clearing out loads of paperwork over the years there is still a bit more to go. I was hoping to get it done before the end of the year however with focusing more on health as our no 1 priority I haven’t achieved my goal. With January usually being a quieter month I will do what I can then. There are also a number of admin frogs which have continued to be ignored. A couple have been started but not completed.
So if there’s going to be a 2025 thread I would love to join in again to help keep me on track.
MrsSD, thank you so much for all your hard work with cheerleading and keeping the thread on track. And thank you also to all declutterati for your support and kindness to everyone on the thread, whether long termers or pop-ins.
Hugs to anyone who is poorly or having a difficult time, and may things improve for you very soon.
Thanks again all,
