Oh my, there is so much fantastic decluttering going on by the Declutterati! It’s like everybody has accelerated recently! Well done everyone 👏 Congratulations @Fizz2015 on your exam success and @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for the beautiful knitting. Lovely to see you @Siebrie 😊
Wishing your family a happy Vulpixtober feast @vulpix.@GrannyKate - I have my fingers crossed that everything becomes clearer regarding your move soon. It must be incredibly unsettling.
My fabric sort out went very well and I have also filed the remaining into that which has been washed and ready to sew and pieces which still require preparation. Also, I have sorted my patterns into box files. It has helped with my thoughts for future projects. The sewing area was getting cluttered so I have tidied that up and put things away. My spice drawer is a pleasure to open now and I don’t have to sniff every jar to see if herbs or spices are still usable.I have seen some sort of larvae about and need to try to work out what I have to deal with. Just the occasional one but it is obviously a sign of a problem somewhere. Yuckety yuck! I should add that I do vacuum regularly and pull furniture out so I am puzzled to have this situation.13 -
Hi all, a slowish decluttering day yesterday
. Getting up early didn't really help as I fell asleep later on the couch
. So 3 LDFPA, 1 from the other day which was on the maiden but it has been replaced with the bits that didn't quite dry on the line yesterday
. The bathroom bin, kitchen recycling and lr bin emptied. After tea I did some crochet.
The sun is out again today but I have actually cleared the wash basket but I might find something if I look hard enough. As it is so nice and we have rain forecast for the rest of the week I am thinking I will potter in the garden and see what else I can chop ready for the bin when it is emptied on Tuesday but it will probably be a slow day but I also do want to do a bit of batch cooking and there is footy on the tv later. I still have 2 clocks to sort
I have had an update from dniece, the renovation continues apace, windows and doors replaced, new boiler in, total rewire, bathroom replaced, soffits and gutters replaced, kitchen going in next week, ceilings and 2/3 of the walls replastered and 39 tonnes of garden rubbish taken away. The flooring and carpets are ordered and they think they will be done by 17 th when they fly back to Bequia. I am in awe of their ability to get the trades in to do the work to their timescales but I suppose it helps that the house is empty and they are not having to shift furniture around all the time though I am sure they will be exhausted.
@Fizz2015 congratulations on passing the exam
@London_1 I am amazed that you still have stuff to move on considering how much you decluttered before the move
@Gers I have seen that message in quite a few places and I am expecting the cs to be inundated with toys the next time I pop in
@TC77 yes I think he did feel rebuked as I saw him emptying a bag himself as I was pulling away. Cats can be a bit naughty with their marking habits when things are a bit different. I remember my dniece telling me one of her cats had taken to doing this when they were having an extension built in their old house. The vet gave her a spray to use to stop it but once all the work was finished he was fine. My cat loved a cardboard box, totally ignored the lovely bed she had and dived in any box that was around
@GrannyKate try wd40 on the wheelbarrow, I find it helps most things work when they are stuck
@Mrs SD love the cheeky bluetit. OH's mum used to have a robin that came to the lr window if she had forgotten to put out his food every day
. Re the teacher stare I only went into teaching when I was 40 but OH said I had always had the stare so I was born to be a teacher
. It did help me many times over the years but I try not to use it too often now
.
@oceanspirit yes you can do thisroll on maintenance mode in 2025
@daisy_1571 working around a room is a good tactic
@Happy_Kitties hugs
@Vulpix boo to sleepless night but lots of things decluttered, especially the cuttlery, I don't think I have that much cutlery. Have a lovely Vulpixtober feast
. The teachers look is skill
Right better get into the garden before the sun disappears
Hugs to everyone who would like one

6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
A bright & sunny Sunday but only a high of 15°C. Last night’s mushroom risotto was delicious 😋 Plenty leftover for risotto cakes on Monday. DSis & I watched SCD & the results shows for Saturdays 12th & 19th October. Some great dancing but we are not enjoying the whooping & hollering or most of the costumes 😔 A certain judge is also quite annoying so now is put on mute 😂 Whilst DH was waiting for the MotoGP races to start (@ 5.00 a.m.) he came downstairs & made soup. I waited until he had finished then did the wudupa. DH didn’t manage to stay up for the races so watched them when he got up about 10:30 😉
1895 - 1899 Kitchen recycling, glass jar, 2 plastic pots, drinks cans - recycled
1900 Kitchen detritus binned
TC77, the front door might have been age friendly but not so certain about the rest of the house 😉 Hmm, not to sure that when someone wants to buy an item that it should be a reason to keep it 🤨 After all you have used your time & energy to list it 😅 Please remember to update your numbers 😊
Great decluttering oceanspirit 👏 OH has definitely fully entered into the Decluttering Spirit 🤩 & is determined to help you attain your wish to be in Maintenance Mode for 2025 😊
Excellent decluttering & tidying daisy_1571 👏 A medal🏅 is on its way as I have been a bit remiss in rewarding your diligence 😉
TC77, maybe reverse the thought process to ‘……I think I could do without about 30% of my belongings ……would be easier to find the other 70% and to clean!’ Sounds far less scary 😊 Great job decluttering paperwork 👏
suzeesu2000, very pleased to hear that you are both feeling “MUCH better” You had a busy Saturday 👏 Good luck with your listings 🍀
Lovely post Happy_Kitties ☺️ How marvellous that your “DDs have also inherited the charity bug” 😇
Excellent decluttering vulpix 👏 Surely there can’t be much left to go now? Saturday sounds like a lovely day despite baby V being “not his usual charming self” ☺️ I must confess I get grumpy after being jabbed 😉 Hope you have a lovely Vulpixtober Feast today 😊
GrannyKate, if we are comparing ‘frogs’ I have one that is about 30 years old 🙊 I do hope SiL is OK 🙏 Excellent decluttering & packing 👏 Everything crossed that you get a moving date very, very soon 🤞
Lovely cheerleading Moorviews 😊 Excellent work with both your fabric stash & your spice drawer 👏 worthy of a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 😊 Hopefully you will find the source of the larvae & can take swift remedial action before there is any issue 🤞
Lovely cheerleading as usual Liverpool_Anne ☺️ Your ‘slowish decluttering day’ is equivalent to my feverish activity day 😂 Good luck in the garden 🍀 Hopefully the forecast rain will stay away next week 🤞 Your niece & OH are absolute ‘marvels’ 🤩 I am also in awe at just how successful they have been in getting “the trades in to do the work to their timescales…..” Hope you manage to get your batch cooking done today 🤞
All caught up again 🙂 I will have a cuppa then I ‘suppose’ I should do something, anything apart from watch TV & knit 😉 I do hope everyone is having a good day whatever you are doing 😊

Hello all, great going on the decluttering front from all of you, well done !! My decluttering has stalled for now 🙁.
My inner clock is all to pot today after the clock change and I was up at really silly o'clock this morning so I'm fighting not to have an afternoon nap because I won't sleep again tonight if I do.
I have been busy the last 2 days decluttering the tops of some conifers which seem to have shot up, well mostly DH has as I can't reach and because of my balance issues so I'm not supposed to go on a ladder. Most of it is now chopped up and in the green waste bins waiting to be emptied....... that was my job. There is still some more to be cut down and I'd take them right down if I had my way but I've got to work on DH so watch this space. Also gone is my blackberry bush as it had rotted roots and I'm really sorry as it gave pounds of juicy fruit each year.
Sadly not a lot has left the house except 3 "billy no mate" socks and 2 pairs of DH's Sunday underwear. A face cloth and an old towel are in the rag bag too. All other stuff out is normal detritus including the contents of the upstairs bins.
MrsSD I haven't watched SCD but I wouldn't enjoy the whooping either. I preferred the Voice and the winner wouldn't have been my choice but what do I know I couldn't carry a tune even if it was in a plastic bag. Sorry but this Welshie can't sing to save my life !!
Lots of hugs available for anyone struggling at the moment or any poorly people.
Take care of yourselves

Hello lovelies thank you for you kind words, unfortunately the swelling returned along with the pain and I ended up back in hospital for another 3 nights. Just been let out.
DH, had been much more considerate this time round, I think he's realised how serious it was, even though it was just an abscess on a tooth. It was a mighty infection that did not want to clear up. Fingers crossed it's now been Beaten!
Bed now and when it's cancelled this week, so I can take it easy♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Evening chums I also thought that the amount I did before the big move in July would be all I needed.
But as it was two houses going into one both DD and I still seem to have stuff we keep finding we don’t need 🤣
one or two things I know I packed I can’t find 🙄 one was a bright red duvet cover that I know I brought with me as I’ve found the four pillow cases that matched it, but I’m blowed if I can find it at the moment, plus a pair of skinny jeans that my eldest bought me last Christmas as they were a smaller size and I can’t find those either 🙄
slowly getting through the paperbacks though and when DGS Jack comes on Tuesday I will give some to him as he’s just started to get interested in cooking as he now has his own flat and is keen to cook a bit more. I may donate my electric airer to him as well as I do t think he has a tumble dryer and DD has one so we really don’t use it at all I think it’s only been on once since we moved.
its odds and ends which are at the moment scattered here and there in boxes in my bedroom that I keep thinking hmm don’t use it so it can go 🤣 just more clutter really.Had a nice walk along Sandown Beach with DD and dogs this afternoon in the sunshine but I’m not a lover of the early dark evenings so the least bit of sun and I’m making the most of it
DGS Ben planted up a big pot of tulip bulbs today so fingers crossed next spring we shall have lots of colour
Onwards and upwards chums
one of my oldest friends is moving up to Cheshire tomorrow so hopefully her move will go smoothly

Oh no @~FlowerPot~ how awful for you! Hugs, flowers and TLC for you. I am so glad that your DH has stepped up this time. I wasn’t the only person to feel very cross on your behalf I know. I will join you with the crossed fingers that the infection is going and that healing can begin xx12

Goodness, ~flowerpot you have had an adventure. Fingers crossed you are now well and truly on the mend. Glad DH got there in the end.
Liverpool Anne, thank you for the encouragement. I was about to have a lazy evening but I have decided to crack on with more papers instead. Hopefully this will leave me with more space mentally and physically to sort out some frogs this week.
Some papers have been cleared already today plus usually weekly chores.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅14 -
Congratulations on your recent exam success Fizz.
Flowerpot xxx I didn't like to say last time you posted but a tooth infection can very quickly become serious. About 6 years ago my step son had a niggly tooth but couldn't find a dentist. He ended up in ICU in an induced coma and theatre as it very swiftly went down hill. I am pleased that you are on the mend now and your husband has realised that you were poorly.:14 -
Gosh vulpix, I am very sorryy to hear about your Step son. I feel about silly having a week in hospital over a tooth and abcess. But it just shows, sometimes it's just goes south for no apparent reason.
The unfortunate consequence is that they not think it has bought my. Trigeminal neuraglia back, which was horrific due 3 months then I had a wisdom tooth out and it went completely, immediately, they said it could just be. 'janglef' and it might well settle down in a few weeks. I really hope it does.,!
