Floss, looking forward to that
And I know I am lucky in many ways and have many things easier than others.13 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
So much for trying harder 😔 A better start to Saturday as I was up & dressed by 11:45 & the household waste wheelie bin has finally been emptied (just the 3 days late) 😅 Sadly the weather is not as nice as yesterday as it is dull & overcast & has already rained 😔 A forecast high of 17°C though 🙂 A waste of time getting up early as I have spent the afternoon sleeping 😅 In between naps I managed some knitting & dealt with my mail 😉 Whilst DH was out for his walk I prepped dinner which we ate about 20 minutes after he got back. Fried chicken, boiled potatoes, mixed vegetables & sweetcorn. DSis & I watched the semi final of The Voice UK - quite boring. Then watched The Kings Man which seemed to last forever & was sooooo boring 🥱 Wudupa.
1837 - 1840 Kitchen recycling, glass bottle, drinks cans, 0.5” paperwork - recycled
1841 - 1842 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
TC77, excellent work 👏 especially combining decluttering with successfully NOT re-cluttering 😊Apologies for the lateness of forwarding your Gold Star ⭐️ which is finally on its way 😊
Excellent decluttering of t-shirts Gers 👏 No regrets, just an opportunity to replace with new t-shirts that you will wear 😉
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Sorry to hear that your house purchase is moving so slowly 😔 Wishing you good fortune whichever way you decide to proceed 🍀
Happy_Kitties, excellent work 👏 You are so generous 😇 Fingers crossed that the ‘upheaval’ will be minimal & over expeditiously 🤞
oceanspirit, good luck reducing your reading pile 🍀
Excellent decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Wow to the number of steps before noon 🤩
Lovely cheerleading Liverpool_Anne 😊 A couple of busy days up to & including Thursday - you got a lot done 👏 How annoying that your bank are refusing to see you & forcing you to use an App 😡 Seems like not only are we being bullied into not using cash but also being bullied into going digital. Also sounds like yet another excuse to reduce the workforce 😭 Not a grump at at all & if the windscreen repair company were asking for a deposit it would have been fair enough but NOT payment up front before the work is done 🤨 Re DSis & the new surgery, DH helped her fill in the online registration form 🤞
Gers, I am slightly surprised that you didn’t just repair the hole in the elbow 😉
QueenJess, excellent work on the digital decluttering 👏 especially sorting out two years of photos & videos 🤩
Excellent decluttering regnbue 👏 & I am pleased to say that you have passed the 3 quarter mark, so a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 😊 What a lovely day out 😊 & well done on checking the weather forecast 😁 Great photo 🥳
D123456789, that is so funny 😹 Although it would probably drive me to distraction 😦
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Rant away re the energy company debacle - very stressful for both you & DD1 😔 Hopefully once you have reenergised yourself & are ready to enter the fray again, you can compose a suitably worded complaint 🤞I agree with Floss that they should be offering DD1 compensation. Good luck 🍀
vulpix, love the tabletop 🙂 It will be a lovely headboard 😊 A bit young for a school trip 😥 What a great result re selling the bracelet 🥳
QueenJess, thanks for sharing that online tip 👏 I think that might work for me 🤔 Good luck 🍀
Pennypincin, sorry to hear that you are under the weather 🤧 I do hope that you have contacted the doctor re the feeling sick, dizzy & weak in-between colds 🙏 Well done on the decluttering 👏
I have managed to catch up 2 pages 🙂 so will post & head off to bed. DH is watching the Australian MotoGP races. Sleep tight 😴

Morning all. Solicitor emailed at 3.30 on Friday to say paperwork had arrived from vendor. Presumably they then went home for weekend so no idea if there are any issues raised in paperwork. My purchaser moves out of her house tomorrow to stay with a friend nearby. She asked if she could bring her plants/pots to mine and I agreed as I have loads of patio space. At least I know she is committed. Hopefully I may get a proposed moving date in next week. DD coming today to help me sort my brain out. Very strange here without children most of the time - it has been two and a half years since they came to stay. Not helped by house resembling a packing plant. I have packed over 40 boxes and probably have another 20 - this should tell me something ie I have too much stuff. I have kept suitcases handy to pack clothes I currently wear - not very many really
1294 RSV jab done - no reaction to any of the three I had this week except slightly sore arm on covid side
1295 Garden tidying done with some stuff binned
1296 Pool accessories collected up
1297 Random garden/beach toys bagged up
1298 Packing stands at 42 boxes and 7 bags
1299 Last of October birthday cards posted - I need to get several for first week in November
1300 On line meeting done and papers to shred - I have things to do but it will have to wait on moving
1301 Two random kitchen things to CS bag
1302-1313 Twelve jigsaws to CS pile (just keeping one unopened one)
1314 Car repair done - £91 so could have been worse.
SiL messaged me as her grandson and wife expect twins in the spring - that will be 3/4 great great nieces or nephews. (1/2 are boys). Lunching at DS2s - not sure if children are coming back with me. Half term this week but DiL2 is at home tomorrow as window fitters are coming. Energy supplier wanted to put price up but I emailed them to say only one person living in house rather than 4 and moving shortly anyway. I am currently £400+ in credit anyway. I owe window cleaner £32 but no idea how to contact him.

Hi all, awake at silly o'clock again
. Yesterday was quite productive. The sun was shining and it felt quite warm in the garden so 2 LDFPA, kitchen recycling and kitchen bin emptied, post sorted and a big chopping session in the garden. OH followed me into the garden after being underfoot in the house so was press ganged into helping me with the tree. It is a self seeded thing in totally the wrong place and I have attacked it in the past and only succeeded in copicing it so it had 3 trunks between 5 and 6 inches thick and this past year had got to about 20 ft tall. I had removed all the branches I could reach and realised I would need another pair of hands to get it down without either wrecking the fence or having it land on the conservatory roof. The plan was to tackle 1 trunk and for OH to use the saw while I held it steady and then guided it down to the ground once cut through. I have to admit this was not easy and was not helped by the fact I was standing on some very uneven ground, well a pile of rocks kept to build a bit of a rockery colonised by ferns so a bit of a blind balancing act
I did manage to control it, mostly, but it did land on the plum tree which is still in a pot waiting to be planted and broke a branch sadly but it will survive. OH said "that was bigger than we thought it was" . No it wasn't I said, why do you think I have waited for you to help? Anyhow I chopped up all the side branches and sawed the trunk to manageable size, 5 bags into the garden waste bin
. The thicker stuff is piled up waiting to be burned or taken to the tip depending on how the mood takes me
. Today is forecast for rain and wind, storm warning, but it should be fine on Monday so my plan is to tackle trunk number 2 and 3 then if I can press gang OH again
, I will move the plum tree first though
. The green bin is full though so I will need to do a tip run. I also did a minor clear up of some honeysuckle that was covering the large planter full of rain water and disturbed a big frog so that was left alone. I will have to put a plank or something in there now as I have removed it's means of exit
. I will sort that out this morning.
This afternoon I am going to the footy so not sure what else will be done today.
Broke off for a few minutes as it is now light and dived out into the rain and put a piece of chopped trunk into the planter so the frog can get out. Don't know why I didn't think of it yesterday
@QueenJess and @daisy_1571 thank you for the digital photo comments. I think I need to have a proper sort out of the storage thing. I do have some spare memory sticks I can back them up on as some I would be very upset to lose.
@daisy_1571 and @~FlowerPot~ and @TC77 yes the rose is lovely, beautiful smelland Vulpix I have cuttings thriving if you would like one or two
@~FlowerPot~ I have 2 2seater leather sofas and although they need replacing now, I will be looking for leather again as they do wipe down easily and have lasted really well so worth it. Moths are the devil, hugs.
@Crazycatlady2 good luck with the move
@TC77 nice rug and I think a bit of steam and gentle stretching would work, like blocking knitting maybe.
@Brie
Ok time for a cuppa, listening to the sad news about Chris Hoy on the radio.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1577 & 1578 LDFPA

Me again, sorry I forgot to say @weenancyinAmerica I read a post of yours on another thread about using bananas to take rose cuttings and it sent me down a rabbit hole to find the information
. I will definitely try this if I can refrain from eating all the bananas
and the thing about striking cuttings from roses in flower arrangements will also be tried
thank you

Morning everyone.
I finally have re-home the push mower.
It's going this morning so I am pleased.
I bought it just in case I needed it, despite having an electric lawnmower during lockdown and it regretted it, but am pleased to be rid of it and be claiming back space.
Edit to add, I have finally ordered a double pack of knee braces, I just hope they fit. I have tried to measure though.
I'm hoping to crack on with studying and not keep talking about it.
Also I'm hoping to keep decluttering and tidying.
Hopefully I'm going in the right direction despite having stuff coming in.Decluttering campaign 2023

Morning All, bit blustery and damp here but very mild. Went to watch a carnival last night, it was fab amd some amazing floats and lots of Majorette troops.
Just a thought, has anyone heard from Florenceem in recent months, she was a regular poster. Hope all is OK.
Today will brave the supermarket, get washing and ironing done. Sort summer clothes and pack them away. Then possible a roast for dinner/tea.13 -
@GrannyKate said "I owe window cleaner £32 but no idea how to contact him."
A similar thing happened to me. I lived in upstairs flat of a house and downstairs neighbour died. Window cleaner cleaned windows in both flats but rarely saw him. I stuck a big note to the inside of my upstairs window so he knew she was no longer there. It worked and he called at my flat.
