Thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger and @Liverpool_Anne for the cwtches and hugs regarding sorting sentimental items - very much appreciated xx
@GrannyKate - I really hope that everything is proceeding now with your sale and purchase.
I have seen Siebrie over on the Preparing for Winter thread recently. I too hope that Florenceem is okay.Unfortunately I have accidentally managed to create a bit of a fabric stash over the course of the time that I have got back into sewing. My ideas outstrip the time available for putting them into action! Thankfully I have restricted myself to a small cupboard but even so action is required as I have overspill. Analysing where I have gone wrong reveals that some are simply mistakes in purchasing; the fabric hasn’t proved quite right for the project or the colour isn’t as I thought it would be when I ordered it online. Other times I have snapped up bargains without being certain of how much fabric I will need. It is then too much or too little for what I want to use it for. I am in the process of separating out what I will really use and what I should let go of and just put down to experience. Fabric is expensive and I need to embrace the idea of ordering samples even though that itself can feel like a waste of money and effort when they are not right either. Better than having 2 metres of the wrong fabric hanging around though! My modest haberdashery stash is growing as well because so much comes in a pack of many more than I want. I long for the old hardware and drapers where you could buy a few of what you needed. It is a bit of a trek to the nearest fabric shops and they don’t always have what I am looking for either, otherwise I would only buy fabric in person. On the positive side I am just turning some old fabric into new pyjamas. I have only had the fabric for 30 years 😂15 -

Morning Peeps,
Hope you affected by the weather have had minimal inconvenience from it. We just had the wind. I've tidied the garden of the odd misplaced bits.
Decluttering has been a bit of a successful this week. Total of 3 items 1 had several little boxes in it and subsequently its parcel got damagesold onteabay and another on MP a little piece of furniture that will be converted into a 1950's TV for a local play. So more packaging stuff used up. I am getting some more together to get listed. We have also been decluttering by eating food from our stores. 1 freezer is getting quite a bit of space in it. We are down to fish, fruit and quorn at the mo and DH is saying he doesn't like quorn. When sorting out some receipts last night found one from last year which came from a glasses shop. I'd forgotten about the 2nd pair half price so now I need to find them
Throwing out food that has gone off is not a good move especially when it was a joint of beef that had been previously cooked and defrosted and not made into a weeks food. I need to give my head a wobble and hang it in shame. The pack of frozen cod that had been defrosted ready for me and when cooking it smelt a bit odd.... nope into the bin that went too. It was 4 years out of date. I always do the smell test - it definitely failed this time.
DH needs some work on his wardrobe so I have been slowly decluttering a sweat shirt at a time of them going out, I'm sick of seeing him in the same stuff. He has so much more to wear of new and not worn a lot stuff. Some have garage smells that could not be got rid of and they had impregnated other garments he wore with them. He also on Saturday tidied his workshop/shed and was happy with the space he had created.
Decluttered over 700 emails and filed others. Paperwork has been sorted and recycled.
Better get a move on whilst this ball is on the move.
Have a good week.
If TLC is needed I've topped up the hugs jar they are sat on top of a lovely warm blanket waiting.
2 Scratters xx

Hi, I really want to join this challenge, since retirement my mind is chaotic, I can't seem to make plans or decisions. I live alone with two dogs but every room in my house including garage and garden is in a complete mess with clutter, general untidiness, dust etc. I want to start but when I walk into a room I just get overwhelmed and close the door. I think the simplest method for me is to do a room at a time. I am fairly busy as I look after my Mum who has Alzheimer's and I've got a new grandchild. I can't possibly bring my grandchild here because my house is a complete tip.Grocery Challenge 2018

10 books decluttered to the local big Tesco's bookshelf at Westridge, Ryde this afternoon and only two picked up so not too bad
Dreadfully rainy day today, which when I look at the BBC forecast it said gentle rain ...eh no its been bucketing down for most of the day and still is. But at least the wind seems to have died down a bit
Builders really getting on with my sitting room so I'm looking forward hopefully to it being finished by the end of the month, then they start on the kitchen for a week
Keep safe and dry everyone

Just joining this forum has given me inspiration. I have actually decluttered my living room and cleaned it. I did it in small chunks and had plenty of tea breaks. Tomorrow I am going to declutter and clean the porch whilst keeping on top of the kitchen and washing. Thank you for the inspiration.Grocery Challenge 2018
