Fingers crossed Katie the children,Erin,Ida, and her husband Tom have got away ok, they were taking off at 12.45pm lunchtime flight, but not landing in Orlando until 1.05 am British time as they have an hour and a half stop over in Atlanta to catch their connecting flight.
The girls will be confused as it will be 8.00 pm Florida time when they land ,so losing four hours on their trip and no direct Heathrow-Orlando flight from Virgin at the moment to make sure its safe for them. I bet the children will be tired along with their parents. But I'm glad they got to go at least as they had been planning it for a year.
Next Saturday our Ben is coming down, and he will be wanting to dig a patch for the Christmas spuds to go in. Also I will get him to plant the bulbs for the spring. he's so looking forward to it as he has a two week break from school for half term and he wants to get some fishing in as well if he can.
Then the following weekend Henry will be home from Romania and will be coming down for a couple of days
Thats as well as having the builders hereits going to be a busy few weeks ahead

@Muddy_Walker.. sending hugs, and glad you have a date for your mum's op ...hope you're popping into the tlc carriage.
@Brie hope the large planter finds its new home
@Liverpool_Anne thank you for the encouragement. I'm always in awe of how much you get done, and helping others too.
So, waiting for DD1 to send over stuff for me to read through for her, not that I can really help but she's in a tizz.
Abit peeved tidied for the person to see the sofa and they changed their mind and didn't come and look.
Have made a start on the stuff on the bed, reckon paper declutter, broken things etc and couple to textile recycling 12, also 2 x duvets, cushions, food stuff, jars and cable to donation hub (20)- I paused with my trolley and bags outside a local church and suddenly thought they may think that this is all my belongings in the bags! and I'm in need.
think I was on 1451 (Maybe optimistic) but adding from yesterday and today 65 total now rounded to 1511.
A few frogs done, or moved along as many muti-stepped!

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sorted some more paperwork + gathered together my knitting patterns for hats, scarves & wrist warmers. DH left for his walk at 14:15 in the dry & it stayed dry whilst he was out. I prepped the pork & started cooking it & also prepped all veg + parboiled potatoes for roasties. Dinner was delicious - roast pork with crackling, roast potatoes & carrots, cauliflower, Yorkshire puddings & hm gravy. After dinner DH made a rather spicy beef based soup 😉 Wudupa. I have started knitting my first hat - 92 stitches & a 12 Row pattern 🙂
1805 - 1811 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, magazine, 0.5” paperwork, plastic bottle, 2 catalogues - recycled
1812 - 1813 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Liverpool_Anne, I must admit to being rather pleased to hear that you had a proper lie-in 😉 You have been very busy recently & if the cooler weather has put you ‘into hibernation mode’ then all the better - you probably do need to catch up on some sleep 😊 Although I see that you were very busy Friday & Saturday & got a lot done 👏 Lovely cheerleading as usual 😊
Great photos vulpix 🤩 & some lovely cheerleading 😊 Great news that the loft was Not as full as you thought 👏
Brie, sounds like the chap is planning ahead 😉 Fingers crossed you can fit the massive planter in your car 🤞
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 So, so pleased that your parents didn’t inundate you with ‘stuff’ 😊 Keeping everything crossed (including eyes which is making typing difficult 😂) that your parents are ‘finally’ getting the message 🤞It would be such a relief for you & far less stressful, if you don’t have to dread each visit 🙏 The mixed fruit crumble & hm vanilla ice cream was delicious 😋 - I sneaked into the TLC Carriage earlier 😉 Good luck with the freezer dive 🍀
Muddy_Walker, sending very gentle cwtches 🤗 & hoping that you don’t have too many more injections 🙏 Everything crossed that your Mum’s op takes place on the 1st & that there are no nasty surprises 🤞🙏
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, such a shame that you didn’t get to see the Northern Lights first hand 😔 I was lucky enough to see them once ……….. back in 1996 in Canada - spectacular 🤩
London_1, Fingers crossed that DGD Katie & family arrived safely 🤞& that with a good night’s sleep they can enjoy their holiday 🙏 I can almost feel your excitement at seeing DGSs Ben & Henry 😊
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 & great work dealing with frogs 👏 I have made a note of your new number 😊 & am pleased to say that another 7 items will result in me sending you a gold star 😉
Sleep tight 😴

Hi @London1. Just catching up on here and you mentioned putting appliances on facebook. Just wondered if you had discovered "wightbay" yet. Its the islands equivalent of ebay. Morning All, some amazing decluttering going on. Still plodding, OH started tidying up the living room yesterday and ended up helping sorting toys and relocating things to where they belong. Then got too much for me, so went out for a walk. I find it easier to declutter in baby steps.

Hi all, very slow decluttering day yesterday, the bedroom bin was emptied and I finally got the windscreen pic sent off along with another pic of the whole windscreen they asked for, sounds easy but felt like hard work
.
We had a lovely meal out with a friend and her son who we had been on holiday with earlier in the year. They passed me a belated birthday present which I was not expecting so that was nice. Lovely flowers and some posh chocs which will soon be decluttered. The bag and wrapping have been added to the stash for re-use
. We discussed going back to the same place next year for a week and we all thought it was a nice idea so that will happen hopefully
The weather forecast for today is dry so you've guessed it, there is a load swishing. I have to go to the garage to book an MOT and we are out about 4 to meet a friend for an early tea so I will see what can be done between times
Squirrel bouncing around the garden atm but not interested in the bird feeder so I will have to investigate what has caught his attention. Hope I don't have an oak tree sapling appear in the spring
@Vulpix well done on the loft clearing, nice pics
@Brie good luck getting the pot in the car
@QueenJess glad you had a good visit from the parents and you were able to relax
@Muddy_Walker hugs
@TC77 I don't think I do that much and believe me if you saw my house you wouldn't think so eitherthough I do like helping other people as I don't have to make any decisions
. You have done loads
@Mrs SD the lie in was lovely
@GrannyKate you are on a roll, so much done I have no doubt you will be ready whenever you get the moving date
@Fizz2015 hugs
Ok time to check if the washing is finished swishing
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1546 bedroom bin
1547 windscreen repair finally booked.
Take care everyone

Afternoon all.
@vulpix - my boss has that Bowie cat print up in his office 😁
@QueenJess - good to hear the parents didn't offload too many things on you this time. Mine are the same, don't worry.
Managed to finish getting rid of the wallpaper in the main bedroom over the weekend:
1001 - 1002: bags of wallpaper
and my ebay buyer finally came to collect the assorted wardrobe paraphernalia that they'd purchased:
1003 - 1007: drawers and fixings
We have some friends who are hoping to move soon so have asked them if they want the moving boxes we have left over and they've said yes but not when they want to collect them...Will have to try and get them to agree a date / time this week and then that's another part of a room that isn't taken over by unnecessary things.
Hope all are well, I've put some leftover chai rhubarb crumble in the TLC carriage.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201715 -
A mini update.
The first plumber I left a message for never rang back.
Plumber 2 seemed more keen and requested details and photos by phone which I sent over. He said he would provide a quote the following morning. Four days later I received a random message from someone saying Brandon (who's Brandon?) had passed the work over to them because he was busy and lived too far away.
On checking the replacement company's website it did not exist. This is why I find it so disheartening ringing people. I have numbers for 2 more plumbers but am finding excuses not to ring them.
I found myself in the ROD last week and have ended up listing 5 items on fleabay which I haven't done for 3 years. I found a huge unused cushion but knew there was a pair and finally today after a big hunt I found it so they will be off to the cs with some other items and I will count when gone. Gathered about another 10 items to fleabay but ROD doesn't look much roomier.

Morning Peeps,
Plenty of progress happening for all which is nice to read.
I had a lovely retirement do on Saturday morning which went into the late lunch time. A great catch up. That's work all done and dusted now.
I have had a wobble of my own head to shape myself and get more bits done. Yesterday I managed to list some bits on teabay and had a successful sale this morning, I even went up in the loft to find a few more bits that are the same to go so its now all packaged up ready to be dropped off. I have even fetched down more items this time and only 1 went up. It's an A5 lever arch file I used at work with plenty of sleeves in it. I am going to remove pictures from frames that will fit in it and pass to DS as they will all be relating to him. That's given me a confidence boost to list more. Need to take some more pictures whilst its sun shining ready to get some more listed.
I have 2 books I need to read then 1 can be returned to the lender and the other can go to CS or local library.
I too have made a week list based on what @London_1 had suggested, mine goes
Move it out Monday - Drop off\MDMM save money
Chuck it out Tuesday - It is bin collection day
Weed it out Wednesday - Garden bits/tidy
Tackle it Thursday - Treat some one (free ads)
Fix it Friday - or Frog day
Sort it Saturday - ready for selling
Save it Sunday - Find a place for kept bits
We'll see how it goes
@TC77 love the hall way.
Hugs to those who need one
2 Scratters xx
