@Floss I don't envy your commute. I used to travel on the ford road going the other way to get onto the M57 to get to work and I can honestly say it was the worst part of my day and I don't miss it one bit. I have never been over the new bridge because I took the hump at having to pay a toll after years of going over the old one for free. Totally illogically I am happy to pay to use the tunnels. As you work at Alder Hey we possibly know some of the same children. Many of the children I worked with had regular visits there, though I do know you look after thousands of children. It was always one of the charities we supported as a school
. You are also very organised with money
. I check my balance with a phone call as being a luddite I don't do internet banking

....OH was out for tea with more friends last night and came home with a dubious framed print from Hong Kong. No idea where that will be going.
Re the print - maybe it can go to OHs house? 😉2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Sorry to have been awol again.
Been away with my church to Cornwall for the conference held there.
I'm only bringing back 1 blanket, 2 pairs of shorts, a thin fleece gilet and 5 sweet containers.
I rescued the containers and bought the other bits quite reasonably as it was quite chilly then suddenly very warm.
The nice thing is everything except the blanket will be worn/used quite a bit.Decluttering campaign 2023

Hi all, no idea when I last posted on here.
Still no diagnosis with Mr F - he had a chest xray today but when we saw a Dr at the respiratory dept - she didn't think there was a problem. Yesterday we had a phone call after 7.30 from the consultant in charge of the respiratory dept at the hospital - she was the one who ordered today's xray. She is going to phone us on Monday but mentioned Mr F having another scan.
Mr F had a blood test which we think showed more anemia as he then got a text to do a stool test. The next day he was prescribed - without discussion - strong doses of iron tablets. Mr F is not taking the iron tablets as they would mask the blood loss and we need to find the cause. The GP that we originally saw is away for the whole of August.
I have been away to Greenwich for a few days.
Carnival happened in our town - that was a very tiring day and I got sun burnt even though I tried to be in the shade.
SA won first prize for best decorated small float - first time that we have won - got a lovely cup..

Evening all,
Havent been on much recently - the heat has been the end of me, especially last night post storm when it was up to 95% humidity here in Surrey. Disgusting evening, my upstairs (converted attic) bungalow bedroom was like a sauna. So slept in the living room with Maccy. I'm pretty sure he was peering out of his hutch last night wondering what the heck was happening lol.
Cooler today, thank goodness. Weekend off work which I'm really looking forward to the predicted rain
Not much been decluttered, just the normal recycling and such, and trying to empty out the fridge from the massive shop we did last week. My old laptop I put up on fleabay about a week ago and thankfully it has sold, so will pack that up and send it out over the weekend.
I also have wanted a new Kindle for ages now - I got paid a couple of days ago now and so I looked on Mr A for a new Kindle; and have used their trade in service. Got a £5 voucher against my old Kindle and a 20% discount off a new Kindle as well, so instead of £95 I paid about £71! Feeling very MSE right now!
Also I had a issue with some gf Schar bread recently; sent them some feedback and the lovely people at the company sent me a nice note explaining what the situation was (something to do with their machinery being on the fritz) AND £8 worth of vouchers against Schar products. Winning!
In other news, this weekend will be mostly housework and tidying round, need to get the WM swishing at some point and tacke the pile of ironing that is gradually turning into Mount Everest!15 -
got a few bits done today . Not much because of the clammy weather though we had a few drops of rain.
Put rubbish an recycling out.
Worked out that I have sold 43 items since the start of July :-).
Had hair cut so feel a lot lighter now.
Got rid of 320 e-mails. Lots more to go.
ilovetea xx

A quick post as been a very long day travelling back from York. Had a great time, although I am completely knackered now! At least we planned the holiday so that the heat wave was significantly less hot than where we live in the South!Back, mainly unpacked, second load of washing already done and picking up some food for the fridge early tomorrow morning. As usual from holiday, I came back and wondered why we have too much stuff still (although doesn't feel as bad as previous years). Managed to eject a load of things whilst unpacking and I suspect lots more will be leaving over the next week.More purchases made whilst on holiday = 6 including a book for me, a school book for DS, another shopping bag I've been looking out for and some soap for DD (I like to get them exciting shaped ones so they enjoy washing their hands).Digital:

Friday was definitely a duller day when I got up at 12:15 although still very muggy & set to reach a high of 28C. Two hours later & the sun broke through, cleared the clouds & we now have blue skies & sunshine ☀️ Catching up on recorded Olympic Events & we have had another good morning 🥳 Must mention that at 15:00 we were THIRD in the Medals Table ☺️ Unfortunately this means I am getting further behind with the cheerleading 😉 DH has filled the bird feeders, fed the worms & the compost bins & watered the plants👏 He also went out earlier to pick up his tablets. Definitely falling behind as Eurosport is now showing a decent amount of field events 🥳 Dinner was fish in breadcrumbs, chips/fries & peas. Wudupa. DSis & I watched the trampolining - very exciting & a great result for team GB in the Women’s event 🙂

vulpix, well done on shielding your eyes from temptation & well done on the weight loss 👏 Must have been lovely seeing the wrens fledging 😊 The cost of the double quilt for DGS might be going up BUT a handmade quilt is both personal & priceless 🥳 Excellent decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Good luck with tracking your spending 🍀
Lovely chatty post Liverpool_Anne ☺️ I am keeping everything crossed that you do not need a complete rewire at OH’s house🤞 Excellent decluttering & well done on continuing the work in the garden even in the heat 👏
Beautiful dresses Siebrie 🤩
GrannyKate, fingers crossed that there is a good outcome to the issues raised on the house purchase🤞🙏 I am finding the conversation about spreadsheets re spending/saving very interesting 🤔 I use pen & paper - no spreadsheets for me 😂 I spend quite enough time on my iPad - especially now that the Olympics is on 😱 Congratulations to DGD1 on passing her driving theory test 🥳
Wednesday2000, you should use whatever method works for you when it comes to budgeting 😉 My view is that using pen & paper keeps my brain active 🙂
Floss, very organised 👏 You & my DH have a lot in common when it comes to spreadsheets 😉
Wednesday2000, sounds like a perfect time to resume use of spreadsheets 😊
GrannyKate, that did make me smile 😊 My DH, lovely as he is ☺️ has never really understood my love of paper records & my reluctance to commit things to the ether 😂
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Hopefully something suitable will turn up for your next project 🤞especially as you are casting your net further afield 🤞
Nice to see you ilovetea 👋 Fingers crossed that you won’t have to wait too much longer to move into your flat 🤞
suzeesu2000, please don’t wish away our summer 😉 it has been a long time coming 😅
I have caught up a little but my concentration is waning so will wish everyone a cooler night so that you can all catch up on some sleep. Cwtches to all 🤗 - a good job they are virtual as it is way too warm for actual hugs 😂

Hi all,
@Floss the print could go to OH's house but really that would just be delaying the decision as long term the plan is to empty OH"s house and either rent it out or sell it. Currently there is a house full of furniture still. If it were up to me I would send it straight to the cs
@Pennypincin the blanket might be useful when it gets cold again
@Florenceem nice to see you. Sorry they still haven't found a diagnosis for Mr F yet but they do seem to be trying. Well done on winning the float contest
@QueenJess glad you enjoyed York and now you are back you can enjoy some time at home with your family
@Mrs SD I am also catching up on recorded Olympics but I always watch the late evening catch up programme. I am particularly pleased with the rowing teamsWe are doing amazingly on the medal table and next will be the track and field events which I love
.
Another reasonable day. 1 LDFPA before the rain arrived, 4 bags of garden waste to the tip, bathroom bin and lr bin emptied. I want to get into the garden early tomorrow so I can get the bags to the tip before we go out so fingers crossed the rain clears up by morning.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Morning all - good to see @Florenceem again but sorry things still continue unresolved with DH. I do love to do my accounting with pen and paper. The spreadsheets are a once month job only to summarise everything. I couldn't be bothered with using them on a daily basis. I transfer monthly amounts into an annual spreadsheet and try not to get depressed at the results.
After long discussions with surveyor and family I have pulled out of the purchase. As my dSis put it ' why buy hassle'. Tree root ingress under driveway seems quite significant and, although, it may not have affected house so far, it will do eventually. Sadly tree probably needs to be removed as it looks to have been planted when bungalow was built far too close to wall, drive and road. I could be looking at years of hassle with local authority and neighbours and my buildings insurance would be impacted.
I am hoping to buy one of my original choices which has now become available. More later. DS2 has signed lease to move out on 1 September but he should be able to have keys from today for measuring up etc. Landlord is doing some remedial work as well. This will be very strange after two and a half years.
Went through some kitchen drawers with DS2 and twenty or so items in CS bag - neither of us use them and then some OOD foods and unused things emptied from pots. I am filling a large plastic crate with clean storage pots to start afresh at new place.
930-939 Kitchen utensils etc to CS bag
940-949 OOD food and unused stuff to bin and containers washed ready to move
950 Tree pruning and weeding - starting to fill up brown bin for the next collection
DS2 away this week on course (he has another week in September then finished) - it has been over a year but he has some good transferable qualifications. Children back Thursday.
I need to contact Estate Agent and possible seller this morning.

Morning all - I was up and doing the ironing just after 6 - much cooler then.
Washing machine is on.
I am raising money for SA by selling on Vinte. - we have no table top sales until the last Saturday in September. One item I put on Eba. as not able to sell on Vinte.
Since I started selling 19 days ago I have raised £131.02.
There is a wedding at SA today - haven't seen one there yet.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
