@TC77 I live alone and have a set of 4 side / dinner / cereal / pasta in white porcelain used every day from Sainsbury's. I also have another Sainsbury's porcelain set with enough to feed 10 mainly because I often feed my family & we gather together at mine due to space & an extending table 😉
So maybe find / make a small complete set that YOU like for your everyday use and if you host family gatherings as I do then keep enough for that. Also if all your girls are home you will need enough crockery to feed them all - unless they are planning to bring their own? 🤔😊2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

The weather is making it hard to do anything! It switches from 'nice' warm to 'sticky' warm every 20 minutes. At first I thought I was going through menopause, but it's the weather!I've sorted to dd2's chest of drawers and rearranged her clothes. There was no logic to however she had filled it, and the clothes were rolled haphazardly rather than neatly (or folded, neatly). 15 items out for being too small, or stained, or with holes in. Some items lived in a bag on the landing; they are now all in the chest of drawers and the bag is no longer cluttering the landing.Every day I've spent 15 minutes in the garden, tidying up, mowing, planting, harvesting. Occasionally I did another 15 minutes, but only if my back told me I could do it.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5916

Good morning, not posted for an age, but I've been keeping up, mostly with the posts. I love this board and I love how supportive everyone is. Life here has been hard going! Lots going on and not much energy at all to do anything but the essentials.
However since we got back from our holiday (in June!! ) I have ousted over 50 clothing items from my drawers and wardrobe.
DD decided to have another go in her room and dumped several bags and 4 crates of 'stuff' which is now all over the house in piles, but reducing. I had a friend over with a 9 year old and let her look through it all, they went home with 2 big sacks 😁😁 I was very pleased, not sure mum was quite so pleased!
Also managed to get 2 bags of clothes to the cs there are another 2 big bags ready to go . The local CS are always overrun and seem to only like a bag at a time, if that!
Unfortunately there is still stuff on the landing from the first clear out DD had before we went away and piles of stuff she would like to try and sell!
I got all her uniform and have started to list that for sale, 2 jumpers went straight away, but not takers for the rest. Hoping that to go soon as its all in like new condition as she barely wore any of it as she didn't attend!
Also I've been painting and reusing a load of canvases that had terrible at work on them! So very mse. But I think I've reached the end of my stock pile now. I really need to sell some!!
I've been working on a new style, much more abstract, concentrating on texture and colour and energy

@Floss, thank you and helpful. Dd2 is home from uni and had a few friends round and crockery disappears for long periods of time. Found a bowl which goes with some so another bowl and matching things will go.
@Siebrie glad you treated yourself and loved the names of the dresses!
@~FlowerPot~ love the paintings and is that your house? It looks like a photo.from a magazine and incredibly calming.15 -
Love the paintings, flowerpot.
Had a lovely day with friends - a meal out followed by a classical music concert. Perfect for a summer’s day.
Rather tired now so on a bit of a go slow this morning. Hopefully some energy will materialise soon so I can crack on with things.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅14 -
Morning all.
Love the paintings @~FlowerPot~
We had similar issues with potential buyers @vulpix - thought they could extend our house but then they wouldn't have a garden! Hope you can find something suitable soon.
Of course you can ask @Mrs_Salad_Dodger - we're seeing a women's hockey semi-final (so might see GB there!), some athletics (including men's and women's 4 x 100m relay heats) and then the women's modern pentathlon final. I would have loved to see swimming and gymnastics too but it just didn't work out with the dates we could do, but have been glued to the TV catching up on it all.
Today I need to go through about 10 boxes trying to locate my "holiday" clothes that I threw in to pad something out as thought we'd be moving before we went away. Did I label the boxes exactly, no I did not. Then I need to pack for Paris, dismantle my desk and pack the work stuff away. Probably not a lot of decluttering going on but at least some progress of some kind being made.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201714 -

Agree with the paintings being really nice, and that photo of the one over the couch! Wow! Such a lovely place!! I need to go through my paintings but being water colour I think it's a case of just chucking out. My art teacher says I should just turn the paper over and use the other side but I wouldn't want to have a masterpiece (ha!) with a complete disaster on the other side. Just being silly no doubt.
Meanwhile we had a near empty garbage bin to put out last evening so I managed to put some of the odd bit of junk that lingers in the car port in so there's just a little bit less hanging about. Must get all the almost empty paint cans to the tip.

Thanks guys, I'm afraid the photo with the couch is not my house, gosh if only😍😍 it's looks so serene! (and tidy🙈) it's an art mock up app!
So I have decluttered a patch of 5ft plus nettles round the side of the house and now watching the diving whilst nursing my stings! 😱
Next is the dgg out those pesky roots!

Hi,
Loving your work Flowerpot. I like the colour choice and the confidant brush strokes.
I varnished the oak block after Mr V sanded it. Whilst I was finding the varnish I came across a small tin of dark oak varnish, Must be from Mum's. That and another 2 items are going to the men shed where hopefully someone can use them
Went to put toilet rolls away in the airing cupboard and decided it needed a tidy in there. Lots of packaging recycled and 3 part used tubes of hair removing cream will be used up soon. It will be many, many years before we use up MIL's stash of body wash.
I am going to sand the filler in the bathroom door into hopefully a similar shape to the door frame. It then needs undercoating and painting.
Mr V is taking my 2 pairs of glasses to the opticians for me, I have stood on both pairs now. Perhaps they can make a good pair from the 2, same frames. I think I am due an eye test and perhaps new glasses in October. I am using the previous prescription atm. He is also returning a banner to the pub he works at which he used in the carnival, and a drop off at the chazzer.
My intention when I have done my DIY and meal prep is to have a stab at pinning the layers of the quilt together. I am home alone until tomorrow. In theory the quilt could be finished today. Bunting is on the agenda after the quilt. I hope to use up my fabric stash inspired by the success of using up the wool stash. I have several UFO's too.
I am on a mission to reduce everything even more so we only move with what we will really use.

Hi all,
Apologies JC if I have done anything wrong
@Siebrie lovely dresses and well done for treating yourself
@GrannyKate you are very organised, I have tried to start a spreadsheet a couple of times but not followed it up. I think I need to try again. I generally know where my money goes but as prices are rising it can be a bit tight at certain times of the month. There are a couple of things that I should do which would help but they are not possible right now but they are in my sights
. I do have savings that are put aside for the new kitchen and other savings and I do save every month for my footy season tickets but apart from that I think I just need to get to grips with it
. I have made a start by noting what I spent yesterday, a takeaway coffee on the way home from the tip
. Good luck with the house things and the tree issue.
@Wednesday2000 my first thought was ooo a budget planner book then I thought about it and it occured to me that it probably won't have the same categories I would use and one of the many note books I have could be used just as well though a peek at the layout might be useful so I will browse the shelves of the local stationary shop to see what they have that I can plagiarize
@Floss I don't envy your commute. I used to travel on the ford road going the other way to get onto the M57 to get to work and I can honestly say it was the worst part of my day and I don't miss it one bit. I have never been over the new bridge because I took the hump at having to pay a toll after years of going over the old one for free. Totally illogically I am happy to pay to use the tunnels. As you work at Alder Hey we possibly know some of the same children. Many of the children I worked with had regular visits there, though I do know you look after thousands of children. It was always one of the charities we supported as a school
. You are also very organised with money
. I check my balance with a phone call as being a luddite I don't do internet banking
.
@Vulpix wow that quilt is a very generous gift. I must admit I rarely spend on clothes, I have enough though the wedding outfit shopping is looming over me like a black cloud
. The Caithness vase sounds interesting. I remember visiting their museum and shop a few years ago and seeing the most stunning vase. It was way beyond my budget but I stood in front of it for about 15 minutes just admiring it and can still remember it
. As for working in the hear I just need to get this done before the weather changes. I set a timer for 30 minutes and then take a 15 minute break in the shade and have a cold drink and just keep going until the bags are full then collapse
. Luckily yesterday there was a breeze so it was easier. I can see moving north might not be best if it means moving further from family plus not having your trusted trades people. Knowing how hard it is to find good trades that alone would stop me moving far
. I couldn't cope without my glasses
@ilovetea nice to see you back and good luck with the move.
@suzeesu2000 despite the heat I prefer the summer. I get fed up with the rain and cold in the winter and we get a lot of rain here in the NW plus losing the light is depressing but I agree sometimes it is too hot
@weenancyinAmerica I don't know how you keep going, big hugs
@TC77 big hugs
@~FlowerPot~ is there any way your dd can help you get some of the stuff out of the house? Well done to her for doing what she has but........ Lovely paintings
@ruby_eskimo enjoy Paris
So yesterday was a good day, 1 LDFPA, bedroom recycling, 4 bags of garden waste to the tip, lr bin and 200 emails deleted. A friend said she has sent something by email for OH"s birthday but no sign of it in either of our emails so I have let her know. OH was out for tea with more friends last night and came home with a dubious framed print from Hong Kong. No idea where that will be going. We have one more meal out on Saturday for OH's birthday so that should be the last of the presents coming in
Right I have spent enough time prevaricating and I need to get into the garden, cloudy today but still quite warm. Hugs to everyone who would like one.
