It's great hearing what you're up to.
Sorry to hear if people are struggling though.
Im not going to be doing much decluttering as I'm camping this week at the church conference.
I've a small fleece blanket to bring back with me, and a fleece gilet.
The blanket was less than £4 and bought because it was really chilly the first 2 nights, the gilet was £9.99 to go with a thin shower proof jacket that isn't overly warm.
Fingers crossed that I'm sticking to be sensible.Decluttering campaign 2023

Chimney sweep was very clean and tidy in her work - she even hoovered the hearth for me which embarrassingly had several months worth of dust on it. I should invite her back more than once a year!Didn’t do any more than basic housework related to meals etc yesterday as looked after friend’s son for a few hours. He is very easy to have around as he is a gentle soul however his condition means everything has to be done for him so it’s exhausting.
Hoping for a quieter day today so I can get on with clearing more papers and sort out the dried food.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅13 -
Well done to your Grandson London 1.
I tidied my shed, gave away a baby walker thing with bricks in, on thrift. I also brought in some plants from thrift. 2 large ferns and some crocosmia. Potted them up to take with me , where ever that may be. I also recycled some plastic bottles and mushroom trays. I was going to start some seeds off but will hang fire now.
3 more viewings booked on our house. I have searched high and low and can't find anything suitable for us to move to. The EA says that people list at the end of the school holidays to be in their new house before Christmas. Fingers crossed.
I met my old next door neighbour from 4 houses ago today. I would move back there tomorrow. The view was beautiful. That's what I am missing, a view.
Someone is here this morning to put in a thing for the internet. Technical talk I know. Mr V has sorted it. Should make the broadband faster. They are here and drilling away, A much bigger job than expected. Running wires over from the next street!
This afternoon I am going to the ear clinic for a procedure. I have been told that it could make me feel unwell for a while afterwards.
EA just phoned, can we do a rush viewing at 12:30. OK, Lets hope the drilling guys have finished by then. Better crack on then.
Vx:14 -
Hi all,
@Vulpix hope the ear procedure goes ok and you don't feel unwell for too long and the drilling stops in time for the viewing
The afternoon tea yesterday was mahusive, we brought 2 boxes of cakes home with us which will be eaten with coffee over the fence in the next couple of days. I was very impressed with the place as well. It is owned by the SA and although the original Victorian building has gone and been replaced with a light modern building it occupies the same footprint so the gardens have been kept. It is used to run a centre for young people with disabilities to train them on their journey to independent living. They work in the garden, the kitchen, cafe and shop as well as doing functional skill stuff. I was glad to see the cafe and shop were very busy and although the service was a bit slow everything is made fresh so lovely very full sandwiches and the scones were still warm when they arrived. I had a walk around the grounds in an attempt to make a bit of room for more foodand it was lovely. Lots of places to sit, lots of lovely quotes and a visiting statue from Ukraine that had come to the city when we hosted the Eurovision song contest for Ukraine last year. It will stay at Strawberry fields until the war is over and it can be safely returned. I will go back again for a coffee and a cake
Some decluttering was managed around the tea and the Olympicsbut not much. 2 LDFPA, bag of garden stuff that is waiting for a trip to the tip and a bag of carp from the lr binned. I won't count the garden stuff until it has gone
The radio is full of the attack at Southport yesterday when some children attending a summer dance class were targeted by a man with a knife, 2 girls have died, several have been injured as well as the staff who were trying to protect the children. No explanations have been given but I suspect it will be mental health issues.
Right I have had a load of washing swishing and it has just finished so I will get that on the line and get some chopping done. Hugs to everyone who would like one
1089 & 1090 LDFPA
1091 lr carp
Take care everyone

Afternoon all,
Another hot day here - Mac is decluttered to the front of the house where its cooler; fan blowing on him and plenty of water/veggies for him today. He seems to be quite settled at the moment.
Got all my bits and pieces done today - DMum was in and out of the hospital in 30 minutes so she was ready and waiting for me when I drove back to collect her. In a very MSE fashion the pet shop I go to in town has a 30 minute free parking area at the back so I popped in there; and since I didnt drive into the car park at the hospital nothing spent there either!
Pet shop - straw, feed and new toy for bunny. Grateful to just dump that all in the boot of the car - makes life so easy!
Spent £5 birthday voucher in The Body Shop today; got one of their multi use crayon makeup which I love using. Theyre good as either lip colour or for eyeshadow, so I tend to go for the nude type of colours so I can get maximum usage!
Both parcels dropped off - had to change the UPS drop off location as the one I was going to go to was further away from the High Street than I thought. Luckily the other drop off point was on the way home.
CS bag dropped off at BHF with gift aid applied, and then a quick jaunt around P-Land for a couple of things we couldnt get on the weekly shop. Must say our local P-Land has really upped the ante recently; might have to pop in there more often!
Anyway home now, just had a spot of lunch and drinking lucozade apple with a separate glass of water on standby - hydrate hydrate hydrate!
Not much else going on here today now thats done. Slowly making some space in the fridge....the freezer stock is untouched since its far too hot to have the oven on! Will make a gf pitta bread up for work lunch tomorrow and take crisps and a yoghurt with me (and a bottle of water).
The TV is going round and round with the news of the Southport incident - whats the world coming to? 😡13 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Mini Mission in May
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday is another bright sunny day 😀 with temperatures set to rise to 30C 🥵 I was up at 0:15 & the temperature was already 25C. Now 30C at 14:00. Just watched the men’s windsurfing - exciting once they get started 😉 Now watching the mixed doubles table tennis - another sport bites the dust 😂 Now to the cheerleading 😉
Lovely cheerleading Liverpool_Anne ☺️ I am now looking forward to the weightlifting & trampolining + the throwing events in the athletics 😉 Hopefully Eurosport will have lots of coverage 🙏 I need no excuse to watch the Olympics - rain or shine, I lap it up although the days of Eric the Eel & the true spirit of the Olympics is sadly long gone 😔 Some excellent decluttering 👏 although such a shame about the unintended decluttering of defrosted food 😔 I really don’t envy you having to empty out defrosted food 🤢 Well done on delegating scrubbing out the freezer to your OH 😉 I confess that even if the garden had been in full sun I would have left the house 😂 I hope that the electrics are now fully functioning & safe 🙏 All in all thank goodness you & OH decided to make & bake the cake where you did 😥
Wednesday2000, just thinking that maybe the mixed weather might be having an effect on viewings in your area - if it is raining people might not want to go out & if it is sunny they might just want to enjoy it 😉😉 Good luck chasing up the pensions company 🍀
tiddles, sorry to hear about both your mum & dad 😔 Great work getting your parents house ready for your Dad’s return 👏
Wednesday2000, yippee to the pension money arriving by the 5th 🥳 Don’t spend it all at once 😉
Great cheerleading vulpix ☺️ Yah boo to your viewer 😾 Good luck with the negotiations re the bungalow 🍀
Will post this & come back later. On a sad note, I was rather horrified about the news of the attack in Southport, my heart goes out to all the families.

Hi chums what a scorcher of a day today ,too hot even to sit in the shade in the garden, 30c in the shade this afternoon but this is the UK so I know it won't last for long
Had a nice photo from my friends at Dobbies who turned up for the coffee morning there.Bless them we have all known each other for so many years and I do miss my Tuesday morning coffee and natter. But lovely to see they are still doing it
When DD goes up in the autumn to see her DD in Kent I shall go as well and we will have a special meet up there for lunch
DGS Ben arrives tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to seeing him and we will be planning out his plot in the garden.
Right the kettle is calling me, so it must be time for a cuppa, my son-in-law Simon cooks the evening meal, and he's a really good cook but we don't eat until around 7.00' ish, so a cuppa with a couple of ginger nuts goes down very well around this time of day.
Keep cool if you can chums

Muddy, I don't count things that go in my bins, green waste, recycling, and land fill. I do count it if I have to make an effort to get rid of it, like soft plastic or stuff for the tip. In fact I had to give up numbers as after several years I was getting a bit obsessive about it. Counting did help me though, it showed just how much I had ousted, and ingrained decluttering as routine. I am still amazed at how much I can still find to go. It also helped me to count what I bring in , other than food etc. I sometimes count frogs and other big jobs that I had been putting off, like the quilt that I still haven't made!
I am just having a lie down, just a bit of earache but all's well.
I don't watch the news. I had to give it up after 911. I listen to the radio which gives details in 3 minutes. I also read several online newspapers every day. What an awful thing in Southport. Those poor people.
I hope to potter in the gravel garden later, but I can hear Margarita time has already started with the neighbours. It'd be rude not to.
