I've been pottering - sorted drawers, the landing cupboard, my handbag trunk, the small notions drawers in the bin shed.... carp chucked or for recycling, a bag of misc stuff for chazzer and handbags put away nice & tidy. Back grass has had a haircut and I will do the front shortly.
Just watching the cross country bit of the 3-day eventing at Versailles, very picturesque and out of 26 riders only 1 fall (with a quite spectacular forward roll though, and the horse trotted off so had obviously had enough!). GBR seem to be doing OK 🤞2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Small disaster with the specialist mouse. It was advertised as a large but they have sent a medium. Apparently size doesn't matter with CEX. I've notified them and am awaiting their reply.
Meanwhile I had bought the OH a tshirt which as I think I many have mentioned he had given back to me as it didn't fit him properly. I tried it on and while it fits the picture on it is a bit yuck. It's supposed to be a snow capped mountain but with my buxom physique it looks like a big zit. So that has been set aside for the food bank along with another tshirt I had bought reallllllly cheap which is fine but just doesn't fit comfortably. So that's 2 out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. The 7s are good, I cant be doing with full rugby, too, long for my interest level. We watched the ladies today, some of the archery, skateboard, canoeing and gymnastics.
Looking forward to canoe cross. If its anything like the snow cross events it might be carnage in a good way for spectators

Evening all, sorry I sound like Dixon of Dock Green 🤣 I haven't done much decluttering of late as most of our time has been taken up by sorting out Dad. However yesterday we decluttered his fridge/freezer, he has a new one. Several takeaway boxes hit the recycling box before he could nab them plus several cardboard sleeves from ready meals which he uses as place mats even though he has perfectly good ones, think he's just a refuse hoarder. We'll go up tomorrow to pay his TV lic on line and I've made him 2 roast lunches. He's not eating properly so losing weight and looking rather frail. Today he's had half a tin of pea and ham soup with a pork pie in it 😳
This morning I stripped the bed, washed the bedding, dried it outside then put it back in the airing cupboard till next time. I cleaned through the upstairs and found some stuff that could go out. I have either, binned, recycled or put in a cs bag:-
Used blusher plus a tube of foundation and a hand cream all from goodness knows when, also one screw and half a press stud which were in my make up basket, why? 🤷♀️
A water bottle
2 claw hair clips
Broken hand warmer.
11 small keys which we've had for years and still can't find matching locks.
Broken headphones.
1 new bottle of shampoo which doesn't suit my hair type.
2 mugs and 2 chipped plates.
2 large cs bags full of miscellaneous have left the building this week, whoo hoo !!
I'm watching the Olympics too, just all sorts of sports as I don't have any favourites.
Hugs to those in need and the poorly ones.

Six items, three of them biggies, sold on eBay. One going out Monday, others on Tuesday. Hoping the remaining four items sell this week.
Hung new curtains so old ones going into CS bag

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Mini Mission in May
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
So, no surprise to anyone, I have spent the day watching the Olympics & wasted the lovely sunny weather we had today 🙊 First the Cross Country part of the Eventing & then an hour & three quarters of Archery - Ladies Team event. Great result for the Koreans 😊 Much as I love watching Athletics & Swimming, I think Archery is my absolute favourite 😻 Then watched the BMX Cycling Ladies Cross Country - I thought the Rugby Sevens players were fit but they are wimps compared to these ladies 😂 DH & I cooked one of the HF recipes - rump steak with Dauphinoise potatoes, green beans, roasted tomatoes & a red wine jus. It was scrumptious 😋 see pic below
There is a largish portion of potato left + enough steak for two. Wudupa

vulpix, you might have been tired on Friday but you got a lot of decluttering done 👏 I hope you don’t sell all your furniture as I spotted some really nice pieces in your photos 😉 Hopefully your investigations & planning will help you reach your decision on the bungalow 🙏 So refreshing to hear that you love renovating houses & bringing them to life for the fun of it rather than just to make money 😊 A lovely cheerleading post ☺️
Excellent decluttering Rootle 👏
Very pleased to hear that OH is home oceanspirit 😊 Thanks for mentioning pillows - I need to check ours 😉
GrannyKate yippee to accepting offer on the house 🥳 Excellent decluttering & well done on dispensing with a few frogs 👏

Excellent work Foofoopuppy 👏 Great to hear about such a good purchase 🥳
Floss, excellent ‘pottering’, you got such a lot done 👏 Would you like to pop round to mine 😅
Brie, shame that CEX sent the wrong specialist mouse 😔 Hopefully this can be rectified & you can receive exactly what you ordered 🤞
daisy_1571, I missed the skateboarding - it clashed with The Walking Dead & whatever other sport I was recording 😉 I record then I can fast forward through the adverts & the boring bits 😂
nannywindow, nice to be reminded of gentler times 🙂 Sorry to hear that your Dad is not eating properly & losing weight 😔 Hopefully you can tempt him to eat a bit more especially if you are making roast dinners 😉🤞Excellent decluttering 👏 Although you are not counting, I feel you have done enough decluttering for me to send you a medal 🏅 which should arrive soon 🙂
Excellent decluttering suzeesu2000👏 made even better by earning some pennies 😉
P.S. just watched the slalom canoeing - another medal 🥳 although still no gold ☹️ Also just watched the swimming another medal but not gold 😭

Chimney sweep coming this morning so I need to get the living room cleared out so they can actually get to the stove. It’s mainly my piles of papers which I haven’t been able to get to recently. I would far rather have cleared them out than have to move them around yet again.
Found a couple of items yesterday that are now on the CS pile.
Food stocks still going down. I plan to delve into the box of dried foods this week to see what is there so I can start adding it to meal plans. Exciting times.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -
I will share garden pictures when things have moved on a bit. I have some ideas. Notified solicitor of purchase so waiting to hear back from them.
920 Weeding and pulling up some bits and emptying pots - plan to fill brown bin to top - collected fortnightly
921 House viewing with DS2 - hopefully sorted somewhere from 1 September
922 Ironing done and put away
Lots of boxes in loft for things like glass ornaments. Plan to get those down. Fairly sure I will have boxes for things I no longer have so they will be able to go. Once DS2 is able to empty his bedroom that will be a double bedroom in which I can store packed things. Determined to only take stuff with me that I know I want to keep and/or will definitely use. Still tired, just read slalom canoeing as salmon canoeing! I would expect salmon to be naturals.
We both loved the house and Mr V can see my vision. The Estate agent was lovely. There have been several offers on the house which the owner has refused. Very short sighted as it has been empty a year. She is paying a gardener and council tax on it. People who have lived somewhere for a very long time have no clue about the ebb and flow of the property market and how the cost of materials has doubled since lock down. Anyway, offer made 40K under asking price which the EA thought was fair. It's a starting point anyway. A property is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. We would have to live in it as it is until SD pays back the money she has borrowed. It is liveable but quite run down and needs a lot of money spending on both the house and garden.
We have a viewing at 10:30 this morning.Just need to make the bed and hoover and we are done.
Mrs SD, I hope to sell most of the furniture, whilst I like it it doesn't fit the vibe of the next house. ( wherever that is) I am happy to just take the beds. Offers considered ladies.Grab a bargain.
Today will be a gardening kinda day.

Goodmorning!I've been haphazardly reading along, just to stay motivated.22 June husband left for 2 months for his planned visit to his home country. He has worked from there (his boss knows; his colleagues don't). He took 2 large suitcases with 23kg each with him, together with a filled laptop bag and 13kg handluggage. It barely made a dent in the stuff we have collected at home for his relatives. I have since added to the items that can go, as dd2 has fitted the clothes I stored in the attic for this summer.Life has been full with end-of-schoolyear events, daughters teenaging (they're 16 and 13), adjusting to vacation (9 weeks in Belgium!!), me still working fulltime (I worked just mornings for 2 weeks, and will again next week, after which I have 2 weeks off). Last year, dds and I actually sat together at the start of the summer break and discussed what we wanted to do and planned it out on a 2-month calendar on the kitchen wall. This year we didn't; we did mention what we would like to do, but didn't actually plan, nor did we set a daily routine for dds at home, and we really notice! My youngest is still in pyjamas when I come home at 4.30pm! She did attend 2 weeks of Skillz camps, learning about designing logos and transferring them in different ways on to different products, and about making natural beauty products and mindfulness. The logo-week was a hit with a good leadership team and kind children; the second week had a leadership team just doing it for the money and it showed. We've been visiting Mum 3 weekends so far; it's a 4-hour drive each way. I've had to put new passwords on any accounts I could find from my Dad's, as my sister seems to have hacked the iphone and the ipad. Mum now knows which signs to look for and when to alert me. DD2 is now staying with her for the week, and has been given a daily routine and a rough outline of things to do with Grandma. My Mum is 87 and though still fit and willing to enjoy life, is just more easily tired; her counsel-subsidized cleaner is off for 3 weeks and there is no replacement for that time.DD1 spent the weekend at home completely alone as I was dropping off DD2. She did really well! She cooked 2 hot meals, went to an event with a friend, and slept without nightmares from the event (a rather scary escape room).Mum has given me 3 bags of books with the order to not throw any away. But they are stained and smelly, so that's a promise I will likely break soon. She also gave me a bag full of cables, some of which I've returned to her as they belong to items she still has (the DVD remote
).
I've unclogged a drain from a small piece of roof just in time, I've unclogged the bath drain (with chemicals, unfortunately), I've unclogged the sink (yuckyuckyuck) so that it's draining properly when the tap is on, but not when I tip a bucket of water in so I'll have to unclog some more by taking everything apart again even further back....I've taken 2 electric bicycles to the bike repair shop in the next town over. It's much cheaper than the one in our village, but involves a 1-hour walk there with a bike with a flat tire... I've taken the electric mower to be fixed in the village next to hours (but it fitted in the car, so that was simpler).Due to the non-planning, meals have been fast and less healthy than I like. With dd2 out of the house and dd1 willing to help, I'm going to get everything back on track. DD1 wants to earn some pocket money, so I've set rewards on some major household tasks (deepclean of the bathroom, washing all the windows inside and out, etc).I've harvested and frozen raspberries, redcurrants, dewberries.Out: 4 shirts, several socks, several pants, children's books, 1 king size duvet set.In: a 2-layer lazy susan from mum's for my spices, more craft items and tools from mum's.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5919
