. My first thought about 1997 was its in the future, then brain caught up and I realised it was last year, then I counted and realised it was almost 30 years ago. Which seems impossible. You'll understand when in 2052 you read something similar as someone references as happening in 2024

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Mini Mission in May
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wrote a shopping list for DH - he & DSis went to sm in the car. You are not going to believe this but whilst they were out, I did some ironing 😳 Put away the shopping when DH & DSis got back. A dry day until 19:20. Spent all afternoon watching tennis with the best match being an Invitational Mixed Doubles with Greg Rusedski - so much fun 🤩 Sad to see the Italian girl lose but well done to Harri (Finnish) & Henry (GBR) for winning the Gentlemen’s Doubles 🥳 Dinner was risotto cakes. Wudupa. I also surprised myself by watching some golf 😉
1139 - 1141 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, large plastic bottle - recycled
1142 Kitchen detritus binned
Excellent work in the garden Soontobeoap 👏 Any chance of persuading DH to mow the lawn 😉 Good luck with pressure washing the decking 👏
QueenJess, so much for having a day off from decluttering 😂 Great work 👏 & I was really pleased to hear that the figurine is already with its new owner 😊 Good luck with the memory boxes 🍀
Brie, well done on the decluttering 👏 Re the nice photo frame - perhaps some form of tasteful embellishment to cover the missing piece 🤔
crazybunnylady4, sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well 😔 Might I recommend a restful weekend watching tennis & golf & I think there is a football match 🤣 Any chance of napping in another room? You don’t sound like an old woman at all - I am in full agreement 😊 I have no objection to kids having fun but I so wish that they could do it quietly or maybe even silently 🤣
daisy_1571, what do you mean surely almost 30 years ago is recent 😉
suzeesu2000, couldn’t see any in London after a quick Google 😔
Nice to know suzeesu2000 😊
daisy_1571, love your explanation for QueenJess 😊 Definitely an age thing 😂
All caught up so will post & head to bed. Cwtches to all 🤗 sleep tight 😴

@daisy_1571 we still have clothing coupons my dad kept, and receipts from the house where I grew up. I remember when I could first say about things 20 years ago as an adult and now it's much more than that. I said to someone at a work things bout some thing in the 2000s and they thought that was so long ago !
Ood food disposed of, I book.in cs and some tidying up with pen lids and bits out so 1057 as new total.
Have found curtain hooks and DIY bits all over and they are now in the right drawers and trying to put like with like. At some point 2025/6 I'll get round to going through the drawers. My.mum had a whole.album from my wedding with invites and photos. I've kept photos of me and my cousin, best friend and my family and rest destroyed and album to cs as very pretty.
@vulpix and other crafters is there a use for old curtain linings? My dad had a suitcase of cotton curtain linings, nice quality but some have a few marks and trying to think if anyone can use them. Some discoloured so I know should really be recycled but kept having been dry cleaned and labels with sizes etc pinned on.
You can see why I have so much stuff !15 -
Decking needs a good sweep to clear left over bits that didnt drain away but is looking good. I however had a complete mud bath! 🤣. Still saves on expensive treatments! 🤣.
@daisy_1571 I still dont get it and I am old.
@suzeesu2000 I am so excited. Will look into that and give it a try.

Hi all, dropping by to give a brief update. We’ve decluttered 5 bags to the CS in the last week which has mostly been prompted by DSis’s efforts. The decluttering has been fueled by her very recent diagnosis of endometrial cancer. Her consultant has advised the future treatment is aiming for curative however she’s got a rough 6 months ahead of hysterectomy, chemo and radiotherapy.DBro1 has also been out in the list for a kidney transplant.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Floriana, sending big hugs to you and yours. These things come as a complete shock and knock you off course for a bit. Very best wishes to you all.xxx
TC, I save curtain lining and use them for... lining. The tote bags I make, cushions, if it's nice fabric I have been known to embroider on it. It doesn't really need to be dry cleaned if it's removed from the curtain. They just say that in case they are washed and curtain and lining shrink in different ways and you are left with spoiled curtains that need remaking. I never ever wash curtains btw unless I want to use them for crafting. I honestly don't think modern homes are so filthy to warrant curtain washing. I have given a lot of curtain lining away to novice machine sewers. Good for practising on.
We are about to go to Bakewell. Not feeling it. In fact I am very out of sorts altogether. i have been doing a lot of thinking. Oh dear.

@florianatwobob , hugs to you and family.
Vulpix , thanks , I'll sort through and may keep for my practicing and give some to a group.i know.12 -

Floriana, sorry to hear about sis
Tc77 we have dyed loads of things in the washing machine and never had a problem with the dye still being in the machine. Jr d often redyes his black jeans to cover the knees when they start to fade. Never been an issue.
Stbo we are being amazed that someone can mention 1997 and some of the declutterati find we are startled to work out thats almost 30 years ago. It just doesn't seem possible that its that long ago. It seems like just a few months since we were all planning street parties for the queen's silver jubilee in 1977. Even the preparations for the looming millennium bug was a quarter of a century ago now, that also seems like just last week.22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈 Never save something for a special occasion.
