Tuesday: Only got up at midday having woken at 09:30, 10:15 & 11:00. DH is having a bath & I have my first cuppa. It would appear that summer has retreated as it has been raining & the ground is still damp 😔 A bright spot though is that ERNIE was kind to me again £125 + DH won £50 😊 It is 13:30 & DH has just surprised me by binning a manky, badly fitting pair of trainers which he had been keeping for some unknown reason 😳 I have absolutely no idea what prompted the decision but am inordinately happy 😃 I know it will seem generous but I am awarding him a medal 🏅 (which I have already added to my signature whilst I remember) 😉 He has headed off to the opticians. To show willing I have watered the indoor plants 😅
1005 Pair of DH’s trainers binned
Really lovely to see you StickyTheStickInsect 👋 So sorry to hear that you have had such an horrendous 6 months 😔 You have been extremely badly treated what with both DS’s EHCP being ‘pulled’ & then your ESA claim being turned down 😡 Well done on fighting like a tigress for your DS & getting the original decision reinstated 🥹 As I read about your ESA claim being approved & then rejected I was flabbergasted 🤯 What on earth is happening in our country 😔 Huge cwtches are coming your way 🤗 & a hope that you can find a little more energy to continue to fight for the ESA monies 🙏 What an enormous amount of decluttering 👏 so good in fact that you have gone from NO Gold Stars to THREE Gold Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the decluttering 🥳 I did notice that even with everything that is going on in your life, your generosity knows no bounds, with donations to CS, homeless charity, online CS & the church, Freebies site & recycling. I am in awe of such generosity - over 83% of the bagged items going onto a second life 🥹🤩 - another Gold Star ⭐️ is in order. More cwtches 🤗 in lieu of any practical assistance.
vulpix, I am really enjoying the conversation about clothing 🙂 I am in the scruffy but clean & comfortable camp although I can manage to scrub up nicely on occasion 😂 Comfort (& decency of course) is my ‘style’ as I have no fashion sense nor any real ability to colour coordinate 🙊 Unfortunately I didn’t inherit my DMum’s abilities when it comes to clothing 😔 Our forecast here is for dull grey weather so I have no excuse not to do at least some indoor decluttering 😉 Good luck with changing the car 🍀 & I hope our fellow declutterati can come up with a few ideas for a suitable trip 🤞
Good decluttering TC77 👏 Don’t forget to add numbers - the last note I have is 988 on page 417 😉 Pleased to see that you have been enjoying some ‘me time’ 😊
daisy_1571, a brilliant post - I smiled all the way through reading it 😊 I loved the comment from your pal 😁 & your comment “Sartorial I am not” had me crying with laughter 😂
Great decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Hope you enjoyed both the film & the football yesterday 🤞
Muddy_Walker, sorry to hear about the PIP rejection 😔 Seems to me that it is a war of attrition trying to get any sort of financial support 😢 Please try to gather your energies & go to tribunal 🙏
London_1, great news 🥳 I hope last night’s celebration included a glass of your favourite tipple 😉 - only another 7 days & nights of camping indoors 😮💨 Here’s hoping that Tuesday is a cool, dry day whilst the van is being loaded 🤞
Finally caught up a page of cheerleading so will post & then find something to declutter to match my DH 😂

Dgd called by to collect some printing this morning.
I popped to SA and sorted some donations. Someone had donated 8 sleeping bags.
Mr F took stuff to the charity shop - my Sister had dropped it off in our porch yesterday.
I have been trying to order my prescription online but gave up - they have made it more secure - ridiculous hoops to jump through. Mr F has gone out to deliver the old method - paper request.
Dgd sells clothes on Vinte. - she is going to try some stuff that I sorted out today at SA - got to wash it all first.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I did look back at the craft stuff again. The double sided tape will be used soon as I'm right at the end of one of the other roll. I considered whether I would actually use any of the stuff and got rid of a bit more. I then took all the stuff I was planning to use on cards and just made them up into cards. I now have about 2 years worth of xmas cards ready to go for free! It's so hard getting the balance between getting rid of stuff so you aren't overwhelmed and just have what you will use, and not wasting things. I was watching a video earlier and no, I wouldn't miss these items in a fire, I wouldn't necessarily buy them again and I don't care about them. However, that doesn't mean you should throw it all out as that would be wasteful (and not MSE).One extra item in from Buy Nothing. It's a non-plastic bag that I think will be helpful for the food shop. Will try it out and if I don't like it, I'll declutter it again. I have a feeling I bring in a lot more stuff than I thought already..Digital:

Grannykate, yesss, fabulous news. You will be decluttering an entire bungalow.
QueenJess, this is what takes the time, finding the correct home for things to go to. My local Rainbows had all my scraps of ribbon and stuff for collage.
All my knitting wool has been put in one bag. I think enough for one more crochet knee blanket for the charity shop, a baby jumper and perhaps a children's hat and it will all be used up. This is a first for me.Of course this is all just to put off making the bed quilt. There are now 2 empty drawers in my craft chest of drawers. Another has a massive bible, the other 2 have fabric, with no purpose in mind. More tote bags/ bunting for the charity shop I think. Then I will buy what I need for a project, make that project and onto the next one.Genius. Chest of drawers can be released into the wild. Or possibly given to DD1.
I was looking for spray glue to give to someone at craft club and found a container of ancient PVA from plastering at the previous house, lumpy and mouldy, it will go to the tip. That has made a lot of space under the sink. Also in my bag for next weeks craft club, 4 coasters from Mum's. I have covered 2 of them with nice Birthday cards and varnished them. My friend just happens to need 4 coasters to cover to match some place mats he is making, hence the spray glue. He is funny, he comes and always asks my advice because he has learned that I will always help / actually do it for him in the case of recovering an armchair!
All but one of the summer tops altered, the last one is black and I need good light to finish it.
Mr V has sold some massive speakers and a control desk thing. To be collected on Friday. We are going out tomorrow but I will be on his case to get some more stuff listed on Thursday.
I thought of you today Siebrie, I hope all's well.

So I spent an hour upstairs but didn’t manage to match DH 😉 However, I finally put away the folded up laundry from our trip 😉 Putting away DH’s undies & socks was proving to be an impossibility until I emptied the drawer & rearranged everything which did result in me throwing away a pair of his Sunday socks 😅 He has enough socks to last at least a month 😦 I also went through the various wash-bags which generated a small bag of detritus & various hotel toiletries which are now in a basket in the bathroom. I packed the small wash-bag with everything DH needs for his solo RBR trips. Lastly I used up 2 almost empty cleaning product bottles which were cluttering up the bathroom shelf 😊 No idea why but both DH & DSis insist on starting new bottles before finishing off the old ones 😞 Both bottles have been thoroughly rinsed & recycled.
1002 - 1003 Two plastic bottles recycled
1004 - 1006 Sunday socks & small bag of detritus + lr detritus - binned
DH got back a few minutes after I finished & has filled the bird feeders & put kitchen scraps in the compost bin. DH is happy as his eye test showed no deterioration in his eyesight so his contact lens prescription is unchanged 👏 I had been so engrossed with what I was doing that I didn’t notice that it had rained again 😅 I am now settling down to tackle another page of cheerleading & to drink my lukewarm coffee 😉 Several hours later & I have come back to the cheerleading 😉 In the meantime I started the repairs on DSis’s top & made dinner. Slices of beef warmed through in lo gravy with mash & green beans 😋 Wudupa.
1007 - 1008 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
1009 Kitchen detritus binned
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Sadly that radish was only fit for composting 😞 I think even a pig might have had a tough time eating it 🤣 You must have felt really chuffed when MrV came back from the CS - always nice to know that your handmade items are so well thought of 😊 Perhaps the windows could wait a while …… 😈
QueenJess, shame about having to work three weeks rather than two 😔 but to put a slightly different spin on your employers being so ‘unaccommodating’ the money might come in useful 🤔 Excellent decluttering 👏 & I have noticed that you went with counting items ‘In & Out’ for your July Challenge 😊 A great start 🥳
TC77 & Brie very thoughtful posts, thank you👏
daisy_1571, I now have visions of you climbing trees & dropping water bombs on unsuspecting passers-by 🤣
Oh Muddy_Walker 😢. So sorry to hear about your Mum 😔 Hopefully the operation will prove effective & your Mum will recover quickly 🙏 Cwtches for you, Mum & SD 🤗
weenancy, not sure I understand why you “always feel I look like a bag lady” 🤨 You certainly didn’t when we met 😊 Interesting story about the fall out shelter enough room for 1 in 1000 🤔
daisy_1571, now that I would like to have seen 😊
crazybunnylady4, not too sure I would have the patience or the eyesight 😉
Florenceem, those fairy cakes looked delicious 😋 I hope the 90th Birthday party went well 🤞
regnbue, Chichester sounds marvellous 😊 So much to see & do 🙂 Although rather disappointed that The Repair Shop was only a filming location 😔
Great decluttering ilovetea 👏 Every little helps & you are way ahead of target 😊
crazybunnylady4 ouch to the bites 😣 Hope the antihistamine cream is working 🤞
Will post this & head off to bed. Sleep tight 😴

It started raining as soon as we got off the train in Broadstairs yesterday. We walked around the area near the station for a while to look at some of the houses we saw online. I was wearing my white trainers that I usually only wear in warm weather and they leaked rain water! I had to throw them in a bin as they were covered in black mud and they soaked through my socks too. I had to go into a charity shop and buy a zip up hoodie and a new pair of trainers, luckily I bought a spare pair of socks with me.
The weather was dry after that so we walked around and looked at a few more houses we had seen online just from outside to see what the streets were like. We walked along Stone Bay which was really nice. We went to a pub called The Captain Digby for dinner which had a lovely sea view and then caught the train home. So I decluttered my trainers that day and my husband managed to lose our umbrella at some point too. We went into a nice micropub after walking around so I assume he left it in there.
We just went through our second bedroom/office to declutter and I managed to find a bag full of rubbish for the bin. It was mostly expired or dried up toiletries from my husband's stash. He is still going through his pile of paperwork as he needed it for his work for his retirement but now he doesn't, obviously. He still needs to keep some information for his Pip tribunal so his paperwork will be halved at least.
I have to go through our main bedroom today to declutter and I need to brush my cats and give them the flea or the worm treatment today as they are due them both this month.

My cousin and her husband mentioned the folk festival at dinner too. We have a folk festival in Leigh-on-sea too but I've never been to it. They said the soul festival at Margate was good as well. Margate old town is nice and quirky as we drove through there.

Afternoon all.
Hope everyone is well; hugs for those suffering with illness/stress or life in general.
Charity bags x 3 + unneeded sewing box are in the car boot ready to go to the cs tomorrow. Might have a mooch around in there too if DMum is up to it.
Got a whole list of things to tackle on the high street tomorrow so will be a productive day when it arrives!
Also DMum is trying out her new rollator; hoping it will be light enough for her to manage - otherwise I'll have to deal with trying to return it which won't be an easy task.
Have a whole heap of clothes to sort, which is one pile of clean washing and one pile of new clothes that arrived this morning with the EVRI delivery.
Pretty sure I'm procrastinating outside of that. 🤣
