Afternoon all
Hope everyone is enjoying the coolness after the last couple of days of insane heat. Much cooler here in Surrey too.
DMum watered garden this morning; she was out there about 7am puttering and moving some plants around as some of them were in full sun and complaining about it yesterday. One of her plants has drooped right over so that was her main objective to get it put somewhere else. Luckily they're all in pots and on a wheeled base so she can just push them around.
She also tied up her rosebushes to some garden spikes to keep them upright now they're starting to take a bit more.
Let Mac (bunny 🐰) out for a run around our lr after breakfast and watched some TV. DMum sat with him while I took care of some light housework; mainly hoovering and a quick tidy round.
Short nap and then tackled the attic room; clothes put away with some light decluttering. Bought some wax melts while away in York; they are gorgeous - I've switched out the old soap smellys I had in my dresser and wardrobe and replaced them with the melts. I shall have the best smelling smalls in the south!! 🤣🤣🤣 (say that fast 5 times!!)
For cs bag:
3 x tops
2 x shorts
Recycled:
Fabric tat
Paper bits and bobs
Off to have wash my hair, have lunch and then do some more tidying up. Might tackle some of craft mountain if I feel up to it later.13 -
Ooh, Liverpool Anne, an unexpected smack in the chops always pulls you up sharp!
I am putting off getting in the top garden. Nettles , vicious brambles, hidden dips, boggy parts. I will have to get up there soon to pull the Himalayan Balsam up before it sets seed. In the absence of the promised goat, the bat signal has gone up to one of the builders lads. He works in a factory now and might help me with the patio.I am here, procrastinating starting to paint the sheds. I have tidied the back garden. it’s looking lovely. The astilbe has flowered and is accidentally all the correct colour. There is a rouge wrong colour in the gravel garden. I will move it when it has finished flowering.Out, a magazine to a friend. A very old tea caddy box that I was going to renovate. Sent to the chazzer. I have got more than enough projects on the go. Also to the chazzer 2 fancy photo albums. Photos in the bin. I have my eye on a piece of breathing practice equipment Mr. V was given at hospital. It aids getting air into the bottom of the lungs. Sadly disposable.
Brew finished. I can’t put it off any longer.Vx:14 -
I found the energy to finish another section of craft mountain.
My hoop stand I have put back together (one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Embroidery-Adjustable-Rotating-Suitable-Cross-Stitch/dp/B08JGP1KY6 ) as I've had it in two pieces for a while and keep forgetting I have it! Hopefully I can use it more if I do another big project in due course.
Tidied out the two craft bagbins (they aren't boxes or bags, more of a stiff fabric thing with handles) that hold all my threads and kits. The threads are all in boxes and by rearranging I've managed to fit three under the draw unit and two under the kits bagbin
Ball of wool found which I had started knitting something with for practice- DMum loves unpicking stuff so I'm sure she will be happy to re- roll the wool. I'll use it for the wildlife charity crochet that's ongoing.
Cs bag:
2 x felting kits (given as gifts. I don't needle felt!)
2 x embroidery kits
1 x small x stitch kit
Puzzle mat (no idea why it's in the craft stash!)
Long dowel pole (originally bought to hang something on...no longer needed)
Recycled:
Fabric tat
Paper bits
Binned:
Old cutting ruler
Washbin:
Hand support bandage
Added to the "WIP draw":
1 x x stitch project
1 x embroidery project
1 x blackwork project
1 x diamond art project (not sure of the state of it - will check later)
Added to the finish off/back and hang pile:
1 x cross stitch (in frame hoop)

Sewing boxes next...managed to find and collate all six of my darning needles (4 x plastic and 2 x metal) that seem to walk all over the house and I can never find when I need one!
They have all been reunited at last! 🤣
Some bits and bobs had no clue what they were- DMum didn't know either so they have been binned.
She has however pilfed a couple replacement bits for her sewing machine and some elastic and bias binding I had left over 🤣
All my needleminders (I'm a bit of a hoarder- uhm I mean collector) have been put on the front of the draw unit so I can have the pleasure of them. One broken so binned, two need the magnets gluing back on them so they have been put to one side.
Other decluttering:
Binned:
Old all purpose glue (dried up)
Old iron on motif
2 x bent pins
Recycled:
Random plastic and cardboard tat and/or packaging
Cs bag
2 x plastic bobbins
Iron on motif (in original wrap)
Fabric tape measure (I have 4 others lol)
Actually have managed to declutter so much I was able to get rid of the larger sewing box!Repurposed a wooden box I had all my washi tape in for the overs; kinda thinking it might look good covered in buttons 🤔🤣
The washi tape will instead be stored in a different tin and go on my desk for scrapbooking.14 -
Been to the hospital today. While walking down a corridor - Mr F fell - he didn't hurt himself - lots of people rushed to help.
Saw the consultant - 40 minutes after appointment time - she was running late and our time was only for 9.30
She thinks the pleural effusion was caused by trauma and no sign of malignant cells there. She did an ultrasound after first machine went wrong and we had to wait for a replacement to arrive. She will discuss Mr F at the chest unit meeting and send letters to us and his GP.
So now we wait for the colonoscopy results - had it on May 16th so over 6 weeks.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Haven't been able to do much recently however have continued reading the thread.
OH has been offered a cancellation place for a two week hospital stay - he was expecting to wait another 11 months for his turn so has said yes and we have the next two weeks to get him ready and me set up for him being away. I still have no car and live in deepest darkest countryside (although I do have neighbours who will help out if I have an emergency).
I am looking forward to having the place to myself and being able to crack on with things. The freezer is full so I can get away with a salad for lunch and warm something through for tea so that should free up time and energy. I am planning to get stuck into a couple of frogs and get some decluttering and further planning done.
I plan on sending OH to the tip next week as we have quite a bit hanging around that I would like out of the way before I pull more things out.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -
Managed to declutter a pair of jeans, a ream of paper plus a place mat thing.
The trouble is I visited ikea again with a family member and picked up 3 small towels, 3 shoe bags and 2 small ikea key purse bags have come in.
I'm determined to tidy and declutter somehow.
Although I still need another set of net curtains as well as curtains for the living room and new curtains for the bedroom.Decluttering campaign 2023

Still decluttering sanity here as our sellers continue to mess us around with our ongoing house purchase . Not good as I am also decluttering sleep as I am so stressed all the time. Keep telling myself all will be well but as we are booked to move in 2 weeks, it's becoming unbearable.
Sorry for the gloom

Thursday we heard all of DH’s alarms 🙂 Up @ 08:15 washed, dressed & packed by 08:53. Cloudy overcast day but already warm. Down to breakfast for 09:00 - took 2 bags down & packed in bike. DH had his last full breakfast for a while & I had a fried egg on toast with extra toast for marmalade 😉 We then returned to the room, collected the last bag, coats & my helmet. DH then went off to get petrol whilst I settled the bill. He was gone ages & I started to think he might have forgotten about me 🙊 He did finally get back - apparently all the world & its wife wanted petrol at the same time 😂 We set off about 10:20 & the further south we got the bluer the skies got & the warmer it got until the temperature reached about 27C. We had 3 stops - we got the last landmark of the trip, topped up with petrol & stopped at the OK Diner to have coffee& a toasted teacake. We got home 15:10. DSis made us coffee whilst we unloaded the bike & then changed out of bike gear. Chatted about our holiday & Dsis chatted about how unbearably hot it has been - 29C 🥵 Too hot to do anything although she has done a bit of a declutter in her room 🥳 I have a bag of stuff to go through the- a few clothes + DVD’s etc - one Gold Star for her 🥳 I have spent the afternoon dealing with my accounts - matched up down to the last penny 😉 + I had all my CC slips which I need to total up & make a payment (but that can wait until tomorrow) I am now tackling the bags & gathering together all the washing. My bag is empty & I have started on DH’s. DSis made us onion pasta - delicious 🤤😋 & plenty left to have tomorrow 🥳 DH’s bag has been emptied - I now have an overflowing wash basket. The third bag has also been sorted & everything put in their rightful places (including several pots of marmalade 😉) + all 3 bags are now on top of the wardrobe. I have done all but one pot of the washing up & left to dry. I will give them a quick wip with a tea towel before putting away. Currently catching up on The Walking Dead - now on Series 4.
975 - 976 Pair of old sturdy biking trainers (broken zips + let rain in from the sides), paperwork shredded - binned
First things first - Mrs_Moneypenny I owe you a Gold Star ⭐️ for your numbers being in the 5,000’s - congratulations 👏
wishus, sorry to hear that work isn’t getting any easier 😔 but pleased to hear that you have some time off 😮💨 Shame about the bath caddy 😞 & good luck to your husband completing the repair 🍀 You certainly have been busy - excellent decluttering 👏
QueenJess, sorry to hear that you were sold a pup with the ‘new’ job 😔 If finances allow, I think it might be a good idea to take a few weeks off 🤔 It wouldn’t stop you looking but hopefully there would be no urgency 🤞Perhaps you could make some ice lollies for the TLC Carriage 🙏
Florenceem, sorry to hear that the colonoscopy results haven’t come back yet 😔 Hopefully that means there is nothing wrong & they are just being a bit slow or should that be a lot slow in sending them back 🙏 Now that the doctor has changed/updated MrF’s diuretics prescription hopefully MrF’s kidney function will improve 🙏
Well said Floss 😊
crazybunnylady4, hopefully I can catch up with the cheerleading now that we are back from our holiday 🤞 I will be tackling our holiday washing tomorrow or should that be later today 😉 Some good decluttering 👏 & fingers crossed that the temperatures will start falling so that you can move around without breaking into a sweat 🤞
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 & you should definitely be proud of yourself for donating clothes rather than trying to sell them 🥹 I am sending lots of positive vibes for your DD1 😊
Wonderful cheerleading as usual Liverpool_Anne 😊 Fortunately DH & I are both fine 😮💨 Those exact same gates were in at least 3 places around the estate but we never did spot the house 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 & I am rather gratified to learn that you are leaving OH out of the decision making 😉 Shame about missing out on the Afro Caribbean festival but pleased that you decided to have lunch out 😊
Great decluttering butterfly2507 👏 Shame about the shampoo but as you say, hopefully someone else will have better luck 🤞
Lovely post TC77 😊 Good luck with your wardrobe decluttering 🍀
Wednesday2000, “It is hard to find motivation in the heat” is precisely what my DSis said 😉 Apparently she has had nothing but wall to wall sunshine & rising temperatures since we left on the 17th 😬
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏 I like the liquid for washing. It is more expensive but I use less than the recommended dosage & add soda crystals to boost the cleaning power 🙂 As to the powder, I used to have the same problem - I was either using too much or maybe I just had a rubbish washing machine🤔
Florenceem, nice to hear that MrF says he feels fine even if his looks belie it 😔 I am keeping everything crossed that a solution to MrF’s weight loss can be found asap 🙏
Excellent decluttering QueenJess especially in the heat 👏 I think the reason people in other countries cope better is because they have got used to the heat & they have siestas during the hottest part of the day 😉
Floss, I think you hit the nail on the head 👏😊
TC77, duly noted - frogs to be counted from the 1st July 😊 Hopefully DD2 will follow your example & declutter her room when she comes home 🤞
Florafauna, 😠 to the sellers of your new house 😡 Any chance of getting their Estate Agent to chat to them & get them back on track 🤞
Just watching the last recorded episode of TWD. Hadn’t noticed the time so will post this & resume the cheerleading tomorrow. Cwtches to all 🤗 & I hope the weather stays fine but the temperatures cool down 🤞
